  1. Nope. His AHL salary is at the max threshold so he is re-entry exempt.
  2. PTS last night on The Fan saw Mike Zeisberger attempt to justify how Reimer is quickly becoming a star in the league. When asked if you had to pick a goalie for a game tomorrow, any goalie...he picked Reimer. (The others picked were Luongo/Thomas which at least make a little sense.) The Leafs can have the hype, we'll take the victory.
  3. Bulldogs take it 3-2, despite hanging on for dear life after the 1st period and surviving Mayer replacing Sanford after the 1st period, no reason why yet. Nash, Klubertanz, and Dawes with the goals for Hamilton. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1008219
  4. AK72 now... HW 3 Stars now up: http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2399 Statsheet: http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20102011/ES020928.HTM Bulldogs up in the last minute of regulation.
  5. I'll take chances and no finish over no chances. Yes, White brings the physical play but little else right now. Is that enough to keep him in the lineup alone? Despite the lack of physical play on this team, I don't think so. I'd submit that a Conboy would be more suited for the 6 minute hitting role over White at the moment. But either way, White nor Pyatt should be affecting the outcome too much. Suffice it to say, Pyatt's not in my 3-Stars.
  6. Bulldogs lead 3-2 in the 3rd. Will note who scored after I write tonight's HW 3 Stars.
  7. Pyatt did more in this game than White did over the last 2 weeks. Scoring chances, adequate penalty killing, and speed. White had his opportunity to make an impact and frankly he blew it. If the Habs add a forward by Monday, there's no doubt he's going down. Nice to see the Habs keep battling to get the win in the end. Auld was a little rocky but did enough for the win at least.
  8. I should point out that today's waivers are 48-hour ones, meaning we won't know who claims who (if any) prior to noon EST Monday. I can't find anything in the CBA about it but I can't remember seeing players waived after the deadline. As such, those hoping for certain Habs to be waived may find themselves disappointed right about now.
  9. They're all young compared to old Bergie, who's opinion on concussions in the past was, "Who cares, play through it." That's what I mean.
  10. 4 goalies are on waivers today...1 decent one in Conklin. If Auld falters, maybe they bite? Of course, Price still may start, he'll be backing up at worst. As for Desjardins, he is the backup on Tampa's AHL team, Sanford would have been more realistic than him.
  11. If he's trying to compare a Hall-of-Famer to Sopel, he's lost his mind. Who cares if anyone in the HoF was a renowned shotblocker? Is he not still useful? You're not getting a Hall-of-Famer for Maxwell...this is one of the reasons I never watch Antichambre, features too many guys from the old guard who have lost touch with reality.
  12. McCabe to the Rangers for Tim Kennedy and a 3rd rounder. Life for the Hamilton Bulldogs just got worse if nothing else. McCabe's a solid veteran for a young team on the blueline.
  13. Rivet to Columbus, Boynton to Philly (replacing Bartulis who is done for the year), and Sturm to Washington. Waived today: Ty Conklin (STL) Curtis McElhinney (TB) Pascal Leclaire (OTT) Tim Stapleton (ATL) Brett Carson (CAR) Jason Jaffray (ANA) D.J. King (WSH) Nathan Lawson (NYI) Rob Schremp (NYI)
  14. The Bulldogs (31-20-6) can maintain their lead in the North Division with a win tonight (despite sitting 3rd heading into yesterday's game) as they travel to Syracuse to take on the Crunch (20-31-6). Active scoring leaders: Goals: Nigel Dawes (28) Assists: Aaron Palushaj (23) Points: Aaron Palushaj (45) PIMS: Jimmy Bonneau (139) +/-: Nash/Russell (+13) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Patrick Maroon (17) Assists: Green/Deschamps (20) Points: Nicolas Deschamps (32) PIMS: Leigh Salters (94) +/-: Joe DiPenta (+9) Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/

  16. The Sportsnet report wasn't citing the Habs' official update, I thought they were at the time. The official stance is he's having an MRI Monday. That all said, if it's taking 2 weeks for the swelling to go down enough for an MRI, he's going to be out for a while either way. I still say he's done for the year but until it's medically certified, he can't be placed. When he is placed, the numbers you quoted will be correct.
  17. Habs are waiting for MRI results Monday to make a determination. If they're making a big move, it'll have to be on deadline day.
  18. Palushaj scores...again...4-1 Bulldogs is the final. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1008196
  19. Bulldogs lead 2-1 in the 3rd on goals from Dawes and Wyman.
  20. To be fair, I typed that before the SNET news from last night saying he was done for sure. Bernier did clear and his RFA status would have been irrelevant. His QO is for $2 million, he's not worth half that based on his play. He'll be released in the offseason. Don't buy that. The NHL still is running the Coyotes and there are problems with the bond issue required to make the sale to Hulsizer go through. There is no way Phoenix trades a pending UFA for 3 years and $17+ million of Gomez when the league is still running the team and managing the payroll.
  21. He cleared, as expected. So too did Smith in Tampa. On waivers today: Re-Entry: Craig Rivet (BUF) Mike Commodore (CBJ) Regular Waivers: Marco Sturm (LA) Wade Belak (NSH) Nick Boynton (CHI) - watch for the Hawks to deal for a d-man in the next day or two Kris Newbury (NYR) Todd Ford (WSH) - I never knew he was up in the first place On the trade front, Alex Sulzer, a D we were rumoured to have interest in, dealt to Florida for a conditional 7th round pick (this has changed about 3 times now...). Chuck Kobasew is on the block in Minny, the Wild have give his agent permission to seek out a trade.
  22. The Bulldogs (30-20-6) travel to the Bell Centre to host the Phantoms (18-30-9), the AHL's bottomfeeder. Nigel Dawes is with the team at practice today and will play tonight. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Ryan/Hamel (17) Assists: Erik Gustafsson (28) Points: Hamel/Gustafsson (33) PIMS: Zac Rinaldo (223) +/-: Matt Walker (+3) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Nigel Dawes (27) Assists: Aaron Palushaj (23) Points: Nigel Dawes (44) PIMS: Jimmy Bonneau (134) +/-: Nash/Russell (+13) Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
  23. It's closer than Maxwell for Dawes in my opinion. In a 2-2 trade, that's about the only way it can be broken down.
  24. 5 of HW's writers offer up their take on the deal and not everyone's for it. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2397
