  1. On the one hand, this isn't much of a surprise when you consider the depleted lineups the Bulldogs have had at times this year but it is a surprise when Hershey set a league record for wins this year - granted, they have more 'name talent' but breaking the all-time wins record says something. Kudos to Boucher; I wasn't a big fan of letting Lever/Wilson go but he has won me over. More details
  2. Habs are reportedly interested in free agent goalie Jussi Rynnas (4th paragraph). http://www.edmontonjournal.com/sports/Finn...8063/story.html
  3. Bulldogs lose 2-1 with Maxime Lacroix scoring his first career AHL goal. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1007170
  4. The good news: Washington beat Boston. The bad news: They needed OT to do it. B's are one point back of the Habs now, both teams with 3 games to go.
  5. Didn't Haynesworth sign that ridiculous contract (7 years, $100 mil or something like that)? That in itself is reason to stay away; I assume Philly preferred the picks to save some money (yes, I'm aware it's an uncapped season too...).
  6. Projected lines for Montreal (39-32-8): Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Cammalleri Plekanec A. Kostitsyn Markov O'Byrne Pouliot Gomez Gionta Hamrlik Spacek Moen Moore S. Kostitsyn Gill Gorges Bergeron Lapierre Pyatt* Halak Price Other Notes: Injuries:, Mara, Metropolit Scratches: Darche*, Laraque, Maxwell Projected lines for New York (33-35-10): Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Bergenheim Tavares Comeau Streit Hillen Moulson Bailey Okposo Meyer MacDonald Sim Neilsen Hunter Reese Flood Gillies Park Jackman Roloson Biron Other Notes: Injuries: DiPietro, Gervais, Kohn, Martinek, Schremp, Weight Scratches: Tambellini NYI D Mark Flood is a former Hab draft pick - 188th in 2003 - (Habs never signed him) Game time: 7:00 PM EST TV: RDS Radio: CJAD,CKAC
  7. I didn't follow Kolb all that much, but from what I remember, I wasn't all that impressed (though the fact I had McNabb in the pool may have had something to do with that). I thought McNabb had better trade value but an $11M+ contract sort of negates that.
  8. McNabb dealt to the 'Skins for a 2nd and a conditional 3rd/4th. Is it just me, or are the Eagles planning to go with Vick/Kolb and actually expect to do something this year? (Or is another QB on the way...)
  9. I haven't been able to catch much of their games lately but I get the sense he's playing in that 3rd line checker role as it'd be hard to put him on a scoring line at the expense of a player like Trotter. Slow development is okay as long as it's positive development - if he needs all of next year too to turn his game around, so be it. Speaking of Pacioretty, he's hurt again, shoulder injury for what, the 4th time since he's been sent down? Hope they shut him down until the playoffs at the very least as the Dogs have nothing left to play for.
  10. Strong win for the Bulldogs as they take this one 6-2. Desjardins got the win as Sanford continues to be out. Hamilton Goals: Conboy (8) (White) 10:50 1st Trotter (36) (Wyman, Desharnais) 5:33 2nd Desharnais (27) (Glumac, Trotter) 11:02 2nd Weber (6) (Desharnais, Masse) 15:40 2nd (PP) Bishop (1) (Belle) 16:26 2nd Weber (7) (Trotter) 11:02 3rd http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1007167
  11. Flyers beat the Wings this afternoon, the Eastern race gets even tighter.
  12. Bulldogs made a valiant comeback to get it to a shootout but fell 4-3 to Rochester. The good news is that with that point, they clinch the AHL's Western Conference title. Unfortunately, the league title has already been secured by Hershey (if I heard the tail end of the broadcast correct, they may have broken a league record for wins). Masse, Desharnais, and Trotter scored for Hamilton. Desjardins took the loss, while Hunter Bishop picked up his first career professional point. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1007157
  13. With Chicago's loss to Houston last night, the Bulldogs can clinch the Western Conference title by securing a single point (or a Chicago loss tonight).
  14. Projected lines for Montreal (38-32-8): Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Cammalleri Plekanec A. Kostitsyn Markov O'Byrne Pouliot Gomez Gionta Hamrlik Gorges Moen Moore Pyatt Gill Bergeron Maxwell Lapierre Darche Halak Price Other Notes: Injuries: S. Kostitsyn*, Mara, Metropolit, Spacek* Scratches: Laraque Projected lines for Buffalo (43-24-10): Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Ennis Hecht Pominville Myers Tallinder Kennedy Roy Stafford Lydman Montador Gerbe Gaustad Grier Rivet Butler Torres Ellis Mair Miller Lalime Other Notes: Injuries: Connolly, Kaleta, Vanek Scratches: Sekera Game time: 7:00 PM EST TV: CBC, RDS Radio: CJAD,CKAC
  15. 38-47 career playoff record coaching, made the conference finals once. Could be better, could be worse I suppose.
  16. I thought at least the Habs played well the first half of the game, they weren't dominating but neither were the Flyers. That was a painful 2nd half to say the least though, full credit to Halak for pulling this one out (and snapping my winless GDT streak).
  17. Projected lines for Montreal (37-32-8): Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Cammalleri Plekanec A. Kostitsyn Markov O'Byrne Pouliot Gomez Gionta Hamrlik Gorges Moen Moore Pyatt Gill Bergeron Maxwell Lapierre Darche Halak Price Other Notes: Injuries: S. Kostitsyn, Mara, Metropolit, Spacek Scratches: Laraque Projected lines for Philadelphia (38-33-6): Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies van Riemsdyk Richards Giroux Pronger Carle Gagne Briere Leino Timonen Krajicek Hartnell Powe Asham Coburn Parent Bartulis Betts Laperierre Boucher Caron Other Notes: Injuries: Backlund, Carter, Emery, Leighton Scratches: Carcillo (suspension), Cote Game time: 7:00 PM EST TV: TSN, RDS Radio: CJAD,CKAC
  18. I've done them before but someone needs to do it. Will have one up in a jiffy.
  19. I don't think Pacioretty is ready; heck, he's had more injuries (3) than goals (2) since his demotion. He's playing fairly well, but he's not a scorer there either. On the topic itself, if Metropolit would take a pay cut to stay, then perhaps you try and find a spot for him. He's aging, getting slower, and no one expects him to repeat this year's numbers so it's hard to justify even the $1M he's making now. Turned out to be a pretty good pickup considering what he cost (nothing), but it's probably time to move on after this season.
  20. Bulldogs take it and get win number 50! (First time in franchise history).
  21. Not over yet, Kyle Calder scores to make it 3-2 with less than 30 seconds left. Marlies somehow getting a PP on top of the goal.
  22. Wyman with an unassisted empty netter, 3-1 Bulldogs! http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1007136
  23. Still 2-1 heading into the 3rd, Bulldogs shorthanded to start though. 22-14 the shots for Hamilton after 2.
  24. After being named to the All-Rookie team yesterday, P.K. Subban was named to the AHL's 1st All-Star team. Props to Cedrick Desjardins for making the 2nd All-Star team too. In fact, both teams have a bit of "Hab-influence" on them: First Team G Jonathan Bernier D Danny Groulx (former Bulldog) D P.K. Subban (current Bulldog) LW Alexandre Giroux C Keith Aucoin RW Jerome Samson (If I'm not mistaken, went to a Habs rookie camp a few years ago) Second Team G Cedrick Desjardins (current Bulldog) D Maxim Noreau D Clay Wilson LW Charles Linglet C Corey Locke (former Bulldog) RW Andrew Gordon
