  1. No thanks for Zherdev. Another talented player who only plays when he feels like it...not realy what we need. Besides, Perez and Souray seems costly.
  2. Those salaries are actually the amount they will receive for real in $, but the hit against the cap for a team is the average of the total salary over the lenght of the contract. This is to avoid paying a guy 1M$ for a year and 6M$ another so that a team can boost a elite club for one year. Most sites don't reflect the cap hit but the actual salary per the contract for that given year. Take TSN for example, the salaries they have are not a teams payroll for the cap , but how much a team will actually pay in terms of $.
  3. McCabe and Raycrap, way the go JFJ !!!! Thanks for ensuring the the Laffs won't make the playoffs once again. Just hope the finish 9th so that they don't get a good draft pick either
  4. I read somewhere that he's asking 3 years at 1.2M$/year, but BG doesn't want to give him 3 years.
  5. Yes Luongo is gold, but very expensive gold. Most importantly, you can come up with any trade scenario in your mind, we did not have what he took to get Luongo, unless we unloaded 5 of our top prospects. We didn't have a Bertuzzi to offer, which is what Keenan was looking for. You completely lissed my point in my post. No way was Luongo coming here, NEVER. As for Tanguay, yes we need offense and yes I like the guy, a lot, but like any good GM, I'm honest with my team needs and a winger is not what we need. We need a center to replace Ribs. As for Fischer, I'm not impressed by a player that played in highschool, I'm impressed by what all reports and experts say about the kid and the way he appeared on interview. I'm glad he's not like Kessel who looks stoned permanently. Not even close. Maybe that would get us is equipment? Just kidding, Keenan wanted an impact player in return, not 3 average folks. Same for Vancouver. Packaging a dozen average guys doesn't bring in a star player. You get value with value, not quantity.
  6. And once again, you just posted a bunch of stuff I already knew. I know my hockey and the reality of it very well. My first post was quite explicite with the "could" become....I don't like being corrected for something that was already said in my post. As for Hainsey, never was it mentionned that he had determination, motivation and leadership skills, on the contrary, he was lacking these things. Not the same at all. Don't remember what they were saying about Wilkie. All that I know is, it's not the same recruting staff selecting this time and I have much more confidence in this staff. Like I said, all #1 picks so far look promising. Also, a top D in the league was not to imply best in the NHL, I mean a top 30 maybe, a #1 by team, or something similar, maybe top 20. As for the weigth, 220 or 210, who cares, the point is that he will get much bigger. As for the frame, he's still 18 and I have seen guys bulk up a lot with small frames. At 6,4", reaching 200 is a strict minimum no matter what the frame is, that's the reality of anatomy. Funny you mention Whitney, is 6,4" 205 and will get a little bigger with years, like all man do. As for mobility, if you work out in a smart way and maintain the skating and flexibility exercice, there won't be any loss, in fact, adding strenght might make him stronger and faster. Pronger was a skinny kid and he's pretty mobile now that he's at 220 lbs. Anyways, we agree that any prospects, even Eric Johnson, are not guaranteed top players or even NHLers.
  7. That's fine. I just didn't want the other readers to start thinking that he had already made a mistake or something. Not aware that you saw something else in another article. He does seem to know a little about the Hbas. At least he knows we're a team with great tradition and all the Cups and stuff like he said on TSN
  8. Pretty expensive pairing, but would be nice to watch.
  9. I agree completely. Add the 1M$ savings of having Danis instead to our budget to upgrade the rest of the team.
  10. I would like to remind people that Raycrap brought in a top prospect like Raask for Boston, good goalies taht are not expensive have a pretty good value. A Modin is worth a lot, but not what we need. We nned a good center or a good D. Preferable center, Ds are easier to find in this year's UFA market. In fact, the excess of them might allow teams to get them at a lower price vs. only having a few of them.
  11. I said "could", don't have to give me the reality factors, I know exactly what they are. Reality is that no other prospects has as much top skills (per Sportsnet article I posted before) as he does for the position where we took him. Also, our #1 picks under Timmins are turning out to be no busts so far, but it's still a little too early to tell. Reality is that he will be a 6'4" 220lbs (minimum) with speed and agility, those don't come around too often, and he as great hockey sense to top it all of. And most importantly, everybody seems to say that the kid as a great determination and work ethic, all things that should help him become what he can be. Playing with Eric Jonhson next year won't hurt either. I read that when asked what was is weaknesses, he said he's weigth. He said that playing at University of inessota who as a light playing schedule will allow him to it the weight room often. Already planning to work on what he needs to improve
  12. I'm not a hater, you're ignorant, it's not the same. Here's a hockey lesson that you need: 1), read this and you will see why he's an idiot and always as been: http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe..._pageid=9688674 2) Bad season partly due to injury problems? What the hell are you talking about? Man you know shit about hockey. He only injured is foot at the end of the season, he was already the worst goalie in the league before the injury. YES, the WORST. Look at is stats Mr. I can't see shit, he was the 30th #1 out of 30 teams, no other goalies did worst then him. That's more then a bad season, that's terrible and unforgivable for somebody with suposedly so much talent. 3) He was not injured when Team Canada made their team and played at the Olympics, great comment !!! And who cares if he didn't play for team Canada??? He was invited to the camp and was past over in a flash, proof that he was bad. As for Roy, what are you talking about, he was part of team Canada for years, great comment again 4) As for writing, you got the message, that's what counts. First, I'm french, so my english is not perfect you moron and if writing is the only reply you can come up with, that's pretty lame and proves my point, thank you once again. As for Colorado, they got fuc..d and I'm glad we no longuer have to deal with this jackass anymore. Where did Mr. Cup worthy bring them....no where. As for Roy part 2, not a lot of people were saying that, in fact, nobody as been saying that except ignorant fools like you. Theo doesn't come close to Roy, so how could it be part 2. Roy as Vezinas, with an s, Stanley Cups, with an s, and a stature of being the best goalie ever. Theo won't even be remembered in 10 years from now. 5) The crap was not much worse, far from it. The Habs had more depth and a much better D then Floridas. Funny how Luongo keeps finishing first every year (and by a mile) for shots received. The guy gets bombarded like no other. He even olds the NHL record for most shots received, but you're right, our crap was worse 6) As for Paris Hilton, that's just another incident that proves that he as no class, no brain, and that he only cares about himself. The guy is publicly cheating on his wife who just had a baby 3 months ago (and the kid as severe help problems) with the #1 top rated slut in the world. And that's OK The guy as a history of dumbass moves (see attached article) and he never learns from them. A pro sports player does have responsibilities: 1) towards kids who love them as heroes and 2) to his team who pays him huge amount of $ (god the bum is way overpaid). 7) You really are making an ass of your self here with your posts. Better stop now before your name becomes the laughing stock of this board...oops, too late
  13. Who said anything about putting anything in there, it was just a funny thing that happened that we posted. There's no "incident" there. Read the post, it's about him being a funny guy. It's not every young kid out there that know Richard or what number he wore. I don't know much about old players from other teams.
  14. Man you need a reality check big time !!! It's scary !!!! Just the fact that your name on this board is Ribeiro proves you don't know hockey, Ribs is a joke. Who was invited to team Canada last year, Luongo thank you. Aebischer for Theo under contract for 2 years vs everything Florida got for Longo who could be a UFA next year...thank you again. Just look at the facts buddy, Luongo as a much higher value in the league, and that's because is better PERIOD. When Theo was traded, did you ear any NHL GM or coach say that Theo was possiblt the best in the league or a top 5 for sure??? NO, but they all said it about Luongo. The Habs had a much better team then Florida, so no the crap was not the same. Get your facts straight and learn some hockey. When was Theo' last trophy or all-star appearance? Long time ago. Yes Theo had the potential to be great, when he was a nobody who had to prove is value. After the Vezina, he let it go to his head and stoped the training and concentrating on his career and started caring more about being a star (in the holywood sense) then a great hockey player. I can't believe that there are still guys like you that thinks that Theo is an elite goalie in this league Earth is calling Ribeiro, earth is calling Ribeiro...any answer???
  15. What are you talking about? Luongo will cost the world to sign, which we can't afford. More importantly, Keenan wanted a top offensive player which we don't have and Keenan has always loved Bertuzzi. Same for Tanguay, we need a center, not a winger and Colorado wanted a good puck moving defenseman, which we don't have except Markov, who's more valuable to us then Tanguay. Why do people always assume that we can get anybody this easily? I don't get it, it's complicated to make a trade. First, the other teams as specific needs, and if you don't have what they are looking for, then forget it, no deal. Second, you might have something ressembling what they need, but maybe the other team doesn't like that specific player, or another team is offering an even better player that we don't have in our ranks. I'm tired of seeeing Gainey this and Gainey that. As far as I know, there was a lot of other teams interested in these players too, but they didn'rt get them either. Wake up man !!! As for our pick, the guy is listed in the top 30 picks of almost all experts and mock drafts, there are not that many who can say the same after the first 12 picks of this year. The kid looks amazing, could end up being a steal at #20. It's not because you haven't eard from him that the kid is a bum. As far as I know, you're not a scout and you probably don't know anything about any of these players. We all don't. It's not because you eard of them and read some articles that you're now a scout. The Habs traded #16 pick for #20 and 53, that's amazing ! moving back only 4 spots for a 2nd round pick. Timmins explained that the only reason the Sharks paid so much (they were offering their 3rd pick at first) is because another team called and offered their second, since SJ's 2nd was better, the Habs made the deal with SJ. Stop complaining, I'm tired of Habs fans always complaining about this and about that, I'm pretty sure that BG knows is job much better and is 1,000 times more qualified then you will ever be. Have respect for the guy who's slowly, but surely building us a contender.
  16. Here's Timmins more detailed view from hockey's future: http://hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=8...hreaded&order=0 Look at Sportsnet list of top skills for this year's prospects. Fischer is in the list for most dedication, hardest worker, best team leader, quicket feets and quickest hands. This kid could turn out to be a major steal...a top D in the league. White and Cepek are there for best agitators. White is going to be a great 3rd line grit player. Maxwell is also there for quickest feets. http://www2.sportsnet.ca/hockey/06NHL_draf...can_skaters.php
  17. Here's what Timmins had to say about all our picks. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/207120.html
  18. According to Timmins and this RDS article, Maxwell is an offensive player. He just lacks in consistency. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/207120.html
  19. I'll trust the Habs scouting department over what a poster says on a board from the "scouts" he spoke too. The kid sounded great on a "real" TV interview yesterday. Also read somewhere that he likes to wear #9 and when asked if he would wear #9 in Mtl by reporters, he looked at them with a "are you dumb" look and replied "Richard....". Sounds like a great kid to me
  20. Instead of having a guy like Sanguinetti, who apparently doesn't play physical at all and is not reliable in his own end (can you spell McCabe), we have Fischer who seems to have much more upside (just won't be ready as quickly as CHL Ds) and Mathieu Carle, a very good offensive D with a blazzing shot. 2 for 1, looks good to me
  21. We don't need a 5M$ winger, we need a 5M$ center to replace Ribs. I love Tanguay to, but he's not what we need. Besides, Colorado wanted a good puck moving defenceman which we don't have except Matkov, and he's much more important and valuable to us then a guy like Tanguay.
  22. Quite the opposite, Raycroft is a 1 year wonder that is not worth much. I'm suprised Boston got so much in return for him. Thank you Ferguson for making an ass of your self once again and making the Laffs a non-playoff team next year. Looks good for what we will be able to get in return for a better goalie like Aebischer.
  23. Leave Sanguinetti alone, nobody else drafted him either.... A lot of reports say bad things about him. Go BG !!!
  24. Another Bear we will enjoy eliminating in the playofss
