  1. Small sample size but there were two consecutive road games (wins) last season against the Blues and Jackets. Both Tiny and Pateryn played. Tiny was very good, Pateryn was exceptional, particularly against the Blues. Pasting Backes to the boards after taking a scoring chance away . The Blues captain was invisible the rest of the night. I would like to see Patryn get a twenty game stretch. If Semin can get ten games after stinking the joint out in Carolina. Why not? Hey in this division. With the start we have had. Play offs are guaranteed. We have the team and the standing to get the two young bruisers in. If one or both cant cut it. Put the other two back in. If Condor can surprise you and fill in for Carey Price....I'm sure the team could handle Pateryn in for Emelin or Tiny in for Gilbert. I think most fans have no problem with that. Other than the ones that have to be on the same page as management with every single decision they make.
  2. Moving Emelin out with his salary ? Good luck. Playing Pateryn over Gilbert now? Nobody would question that move.
  3. Let up means he could have done much worse and didn't. No chara hit there man. But it could have been. Is all I'm saying.
  4. Eller on pace for 25 goals. Kills penalties. Plays with numerous line mates every year including this one. Plays center or wing. Has size. Always willing to take the hit to make a play. Scored 14 even strength goals last season playing 3rd line. Still owns the best play off performance of any forward on the club. 3. 5 mill Not over paid by today's standards.
  5. I hear ya . I like Emelins physical play. I loved his play the year he went down with the knee running into Lucic. He has not been the same since. This season he looked very good for the first eight or nine games. Back slid the next half dozen or so. I'm less a fan of Gilbert. Now i can only speak for myself but my interest in seeing Patryn and Tinordi up is to get a look at them. This is not a loud barking knock on the two vets. But not a peak this time, a real look at the two bruisers. Its not like we would have to sit Petry or Markov for crying out loud. So Emelin and then Gilbert get some time in a black jersey, eating hot dogs in the press box. Welcome to the big leagues. Not saying they are stinking the joint out. I don't try to speak for MB. I speak for what I think and see. MB is in charge of running the team. Fans are in charge of watching and giving their opinions. Both are doing stupendous jobs. A great deal of the best insight I get from Hab fans is right here.
  6. The east is up for grabs. Expectations are higher than ever for this club. Best goalie/player in the league. Two Norris Trophy caliber D. All star scoring winger. Gally improved to be just as big a threat as Max. Fourth line added and succeeding. Deep enough to drop DD and hide him from top pairs. The Pens are a bad hockey team with a few stars, they have played brutal all season (according to everyone including themselves)....and just they went 10-2 while playing poorly! Plain and simple guys..............if the habs don't at least make it to the finals this year....the season is a complete failure. AH, nice to finally be back to the way it should be in Montreal. Stanley or bust !
  7. Last night aside, Emelin (and Gilbert) have been pretty good this year - despite what all the haters seem to say. That's something to consider as well. But yanking Gilbert in favour of Pateryn makes some sense given that bizarre mental error by Gilbert in OT. (I still say the late 3rd period penalty was understandable, since the puck only got behind him because of a weird bounce on the bad ice and he made a pure 'reaction' play).
  8. Could ask you the same thing every time you rip NB? Easy buddy. He is as free to voice his opinion on Gilbert as you are on Nate and Semin.
  9. Watched as well as listened to Lefebvre coach the Bulldogs for three seasons. I highly doubt he could, or did offer any insight.
  10. Emelin plays both poorly.....but he spends no time in the press box. Politics and contract.
  11. Well said. Dave Tippet to a young player not getting a good a shot as he believes he is worthy of. "Politics kid, you are only as good as they want you to be" Emelin has a big contract. The other two don't. I would take Pateryn over Emelin in a heart beat. He is a better hockey player, and a much smarter hockey player. Tiny? Be hard pressed to say Emelin is better than him. Politics ain't nothing new in this game. Scott Gomez went a full calendar year without a goal. Remained top six and pp the entire time. Why? his contract. Were there better players in the organization that could have contributed more in his position? Yes. Did they replace him with one of those players? No. Now eventually Gomez was bought out. But for two full years he held a job that could have been given to a better player. Politics and contract size are a sometimes the deciding factor. Much to fans dismay.
  12. Neither is the coaches so what the heck. Bourny would have made the team last season (fourth line) Had it not been for reoccurring concussions.
  13. Subban was solid as a rock last night. Markov our best player this year but still playing too much. Gally might out score Max this year. ha!
  14. He should be in. I laughed when MB signed him. But what would be even more ridiculous is to give the guy a mill , and consider the move a bust after 10 games. 9 of which we won with him on the second line. A second line that played better before he was scratched than after.
  15. Markov gassed. Gilbert out there with him to finish the game. lol NB not a shift in ot? Hate shoot outs deciding a game like this. Gally best forward on the team since last April.
  16. Penguins are pretty good when they have their top players out there. When those four or five guys are on the bench, the other 15 stink. Barely can complete a pass. ha!
