Looked around for the season previews - lot of fun to read:

11th overall - http://www.tsn.ca/tools/print_story.asp?id=56578

12th overall - http://proicehockey.about.com/cs/nhlseason...04Canadiens.htm

13th overall - http://www.nhl.com/intheslot/read/preview0.../mon/intro.html

14th overall - http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?p...age=2003pvw/mon

15th overall - http://www.kirotv.com/nhl/2527758/detail.html

I'm sure there are others (Canada.com, TSN.ca, Sportsline), but I couldn't find them.

I think the morale to this story is: Habs + Gainey + Kovalev = Success :ghg:

Just remember that to be a sport writer you need a pen, a piece of paper and general knowledge of sports . A brain is not a job requirement.

But I have one question, we were winning before Kovalev came over and I haven't seen a big impact from him yet. Yes he does LOOK good, but I am not a school girl. Hope he gets it together against Colorado. Maybe wishful thinking as I think the Ranger syndrome may take a few more games to get out of his system. Meanwhile we still have Ribs and Koivu who are putting up points so we will do fine.

Anyone questioning the Captain now?

Great links Aussie! hehe

But Kovalev isn't the morale. We are 6th because of the team we had.. but Kovalev gives us the possibility to maybe win 1 more round!

i think a lot of us fans could be better analyst then most of the people on those sports shows!

I couldnt understand how those guys were constantly saying the habs would finish out of the playoffs, and hed em behind teams like Buffalo, Florida, Atlanta, Washington and the Rangers...It was just sick!!

The Habs have a good team, and right now i think they can beat aanyone in the east!!

Typical US media and TSN.ca is also only Pro-Laffs ... so I don't care what these experts are talking about. :P;)

Hey it could happen! Maybe the habs will be the Cinderella team of the league this year.

Jose wins MVP, Zednik finishes top 5 in goals scored, Souray becomes a Norris Candidate, Koivu runner up for MVP, Juneau get the nominated for the Selke, Julien Jack Adams nominee and Ryder get the Calder!.....haha its nice to dream.

That was my post on the topic.....How did I leave out the Laffs? haha

Funny thing is 5 of things that I was just joking about could actually happen:

1) Habs could be this years sleeper in the Playoffs, and upset some big teams, if everything works into place i can see them in the Final.

2) Jose is having a very solid year and should be considered for the Vezina, not sure he'll win it, but he should be a nominee

3)Souray should still be considered a nominee for the Norris and if not for the injury he would have been a lock for the Award! Right now im thinkin Chara....

4)Ryder is obviously gonna be a nominee for the Calder this season, and of course all of us habs fans think he's a no brainer to win the award! IMO he definitely should win it, I think there should be seperate awards for Rookie Goalie and Rookie Player.....But theres not, so its gonna be a tough one.

5) Julien should definatelt be a Jack Adams nominee and he should win the Award easily. This guy coached a team that was given no chance to make the playoffs, his job seemed to on the line at numerous ocasions, and he turned them into a playoff bound team who are in a tight race to win the division! IMO if any of these Habs should win an award it should be Julien!!

That's my favourite from ESPN's Barry Melrose:

East: N.Y. Rangers

West: Detroit

Stanley Cup: Detroit

Hart: Dominik Hasek, Det

Vezina: Dominik Hasek, Det

Norris: Rob Blake, Col

Adams: Glen Sather, NYR

Are we talking about the same Rangers that missed the postseason for the last century Mr. Melrose?? :wall::D:wall:

I know it's easy to talk about such things right now but that's something I don't really understand. That's only the wish of a so called expert and nothing else ... and such a guy get money for such crap?! :puke:
