Fanpuck33_
Ha, I figured somebody would get a list up before I finished mine. Looks like I won this time, haha. I agree Lefebvre is a better #3, I just saw Engblom's name first, and I like him as an announcer. BTW, interesting that your name is Habs13, the only number under 50 never worn by any habs. Kinda funny [Edited on 11-16-04 by Fanpuck33]

dlbalr
I've got Boucher on my list, the one that should be released soon, but I have him as #5. You seem to have a lot of info on some of these older players, puck; I don't have numbers for about 30, perhaps you could help me with them? It'd be nice to have as many numbers as possible before we release the list.

It would be easier if you posted the list (send it to me over YIM or something) that way I could see who your missing instead of just listing off all the players with numbers over 30. Dusty 2
Has anyone mentioned that Bernie {Boom Boom } Geoffrion was a great # 5 , plus the speedy Ralf Backstrom was a ,very good # 6 . Both contributed much more to Canadiens than Stephan Quintal or Russ Courtnall.
ch_nl
Guess you're right, but everyone on this forum is probably to young to have any experience from Boom Boom's era...
Dusty 2
That could be true..... But I noticed that someone mentioned Howie Morenz , -- and he was Boom Booms father in law .
ch_nl
I didn't know. Is it just me or is Boom Boom a forgotten hero?
Fanpuck33_
Not forgotten here, I just didn't know his number.
ch_nl
What's the chance of forgetting Lafleaurs or Richards number? Why Boom-Boom?
Fanpuck33_
Lafleur and Richard both have had their numbers retired, so everyone knows their numbers. Boom Boom's number hasn't been retired, so much fewer people know his number.
ch_nl
OK. I give up. It's just me. But whenever I think of Montreals history I seem to forgett about some heroes like Boom-Boom, Joliat and Babe.

Boy, did I forget about this thread. I'm not missing all the players with numbers over 30, just about 30 players out of 680 or so. Sakiqc has the official file, I just have the spreadsheet one, but if you're ever online when I am, I'll send that list to you.

Keith
I am likely to be critical of choices to date, having just viewed. Not had time to research but a few "number" come to mind: 3. JC Tremblay much better choice 5. Boom Boom of course 12. either Dickie Moore of Cournoyer 14. Claude Provost 15. Bobby Rousseau 17. JG Talbot (loved Brunet, shame he was traded) 20. Pete Mahovlich 22. John Ferguson (more important to team than Shutt) 23. Gainey of course 25. Kilger get real - Lemaire 27. Frank Mahovlich not Corson 71. Turgeon. Hope Ribeiro develops that skill Other names without numbers as yet Bouchard (both) Goyette (17?) Marshall (22?) Tommy Johnson (10? - no match for Lafleur) Olmstead St Laurent Bonin (18?) Joliet Lach Blake Mondou (both) Cleghorn (both) Lalonde Lapointe Just a start. Some of the names listed make me wonder if some of youse guys are Leaf fans in disguise
