kenadian
Just watching the NHL network, their showing Game 4 of the final. The Flyers have their names on the back of their jerseys and Montreal doesn't. What year did Montreal start putting the names on the jerseys? kenadian
I'm going to start a petition as well, As I heard the LA Kings farm team is moving to Sudbury but not going with the old Green jerseys! Totally off-topic (but it's my thread....) I picked up an auto'd Wolves hockey stick today from the 88-89 season... for nothing Looks like all the team is there; but some are a little worn; since it looks like they were all done with a really fine marker, almost looks like pencil. Some of my collection; http://www.boomspeed.com/kenadian/Back_Staal.jpg http://www.boomspeed.com/kenadian/Hastings_back.JPG (Rookie Year) http://www.boomspeed.com/kenadian/Kivell_back.JPG And an Ehelechner (rookie) which was too small for him (not a goalie cut) And a replica Staal Team Canada (Auto'd) http://www.boomspeed.com/kenadian/79-80_Cooperall.JPG (Still looking for one of these)
TheBigRedC
Very nice man. It's quite a shame the way we lost game 4 against the Petes. I can tell you Mils did not make a dirty check. I am a little worried for this season though. Without Staal and Pouliot, we are really going to have to lean on Nick F, but who knows, maybe Jaret can pull a Traveres By the way, is Beech starting again? :puke:
kenadian
I've heard Beech will be back, and that Swick will be the backup (according to Eklund ) We're going to be hard up to score (again) this year, and our returning OA's aren't (IMO) the best players we have. I'm hoping we do a deal before the deadline; and get a proven goal scorer. Now back to my question, what year did the Habs start putting their names on their jerseys? Anyone, Bueller, Bueller? Drivefor25
if I'm not mistaken the habs started putting their names on their jersey's during the 79 - 80 season possibly even sooner than that but it wasn't before 77 as they didn't have it when they beat philly for the cup in 76'

Kings moving their farm team to Sudbury? NHL teams aren't allowed to have their own junior affiliates, and I can't see the AHL moving into an OHL market. Not unless the Wolves leave town, and so far the only team movement in the OHL involves the Ice Dogs moving to North Bay and the St. Michael's Majors moving into Mississauga. kenadian
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH................. Read this: http://forums.habsworld.net/index.php?showtopic=7862 And the Ice Dogs won't be going to North Bay. My guess is NY since the OHL would then be able to draft players from the state; and locking out the Q Edited August 16, 2006 by kenadian

And I did hear that Buffalo is a possible home to the Ice Dogs if they move. Edited August 18, 2006 by RobRock

dark_faerie87
Do all members have access to the main HWL forum? I know you can read it, but I don't think you can post in it. I could be wrong though.
shortcat1
This is amazing! The thread starts off as a question about when the Canadiens put names on their jerseys and, two posts later, it takes a totally wild veering into a completely different territory. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............ :king: :hlogo: :king:
kenadian
I know, what's up with that? But since no one answered my question [what year names appeared on the jerseys] I posted completely off topic :king:
Drivefor25
I did answer your question. I said it was more than likely in the 78-79 or 79-80 season but not before then.
