  1. I actually see more zednick then ryder, perez did well on the first line with Koivu and kovalev. The habs need a good left winger for the second line. The habs have several right wingers playing the left side. I see higgins more of a 3rd line left wing. Good 2 way player. Put Bulis begin and another grinder on the 4th line. Then Julian can finally role 4 lines.
  2. I don't think chicago is that dumb.
  3. Chicago is also looking for a center that can produce, Ribiero may have some trade value but i think they would have to throw in another player to get a good young D. Maybe send them rivet or souray.
  4. Yep, i read the islanders are looking to move some defensemen. Whether that would be an upgrade or not is debatable. The habs need a puck moving D, and a stay at home tough D man to play with markov. Rivet is a #4 or 5 on every other team in the NHL. Same with Souray this year.
  5. Yea hopefully. They need to move some soft forwards for some gritty ones Calgary has plenty of them and they will have to sit one of them of since they got huselius.
  6. Yea, unfortunately i think this will be worse then Ottawa. I haven't seen a whole lot of effort from the habs in the last few weeks. Injuries or not, there is no excuse for being soft and lazy.
  7. The problem with sitting people when they make mistakes is that more often then not it is the veteran D making the blundrs, ribiero, bonk, zednick, etc. I bet if you benched a few of the vets it would be a nice wake up call.
  8. I think the D is pretty bad even when healthy. They have no one who can skate it out of the zone, none of are great passers. They turn it over way too much. Does any one see that s evry team knows to pinch there D because every defensive zone play is the same. The have looked defensively the same for the last 3 coaches. I think it's time to get some new D.
  9. I think numerous players should be looked at to go. The core of this team has been together for years and i don't see any improvement there play. Rivet and Souray make the same mistakes every day and for there size they lose alot of 1 on 1 battles. No one will touch Bonk. Forwards who can go could be Zednick, sundstrom, ribiero, dags. Just throwing this out there, i wouldn't mind seeing a big move similar to Boston and get some new blood in here. Something like Theo and Zednick for Bertuzzi, Auld and Jovanoski. That is an example, not saying it would happen.
  10. After the kings lay one the habs you will. If they keep playing the way they are it won't be pretty. The kings have numerous lines that can score and the habs don't have any right now.
  11. Why, Ivanans and vandermmer don't even play in the NHL. Colton Orr can. This team is way to soft. waive Dags, there is your money to play for Orr. Someone elde picked him up anyway, it's a mute point. The point is this team needs some toughness. A 4th line of Bulis Ribiero and Dags doesn't really so much.
  12. Yes, he would be an upgrade to our 4th line in place of Dags. Colton Orr was put on waivers yesterday and the Rags picked him up, i'm sorry Bob Gainey missed his chance to get him. He can fight.
  13. Yes exactly, how many times do you see vets make the same mistakes and never get sat down.
  14. Oh yea, this team needs alot of muscle. They are too small and soft to compete against big teams. They could also use a big tough D man. Another player like Begin wouldn't hurt either. begin and 2 other tough players should be the habs 4th line.
  15. I'll catch alot of heat for the D solutions i have but that happens. Try to trade Rivet and Souray. They need a D who can move the puck to play with Komi. They also need a tough stay at home D to play with Markov. Dandy and Bouillon will fill # 5 and 6 . I think Cote was overall better then Streit, although he had a bad mistake which led to a goal. This D core has been around together for a while and it isn't working. Time to move a few.
  16. waWhat this team needs is some toughness and grinders to play with Begin on the fourth line. Trade Ribs for a right handed gritty center for the fourth line. They can throw in Dags in as well.
  17. Two way forwards are fine, the problem is that all the habs 2 way forwards don't score, don't hint and don't play with an edge. Why can't we trade some of our D, The core has been here for several years and they have always been average at best. The D needs to be addressed as well. Trading a good prospect is not necassary now, the habs need to trade for D help and some tough gritty forwards.
  18. I totally agree, i think zednick is more expendable then Ryder, mostly because Perezhogen has already played with Kovy and Koivu and done well. I think you can trade ribiero for a hard grinding checker, we need toughness. I would add Komi to the list of D untouchables. He is young and he hits which no one else does. He does make the occaisional mistake but he is young. Not like Rivet and souray.
  19. I agree with alot of those assessments. I think Bulis is expendable because of higgins. He can play the 3rd line LW. Also this team needs more character, we have a grand total of 2 people who take the body, Begin and Komi. The rest are soft and don't play hard. I think the habs are stuck with Bonk, no one will trade for him due to his salary. Plus you have to give up someone good to get someone good. We need to upgrade the D, get some players who can check and play physical. Our 3rd and 4th line are all the same kind of players, soft, emotionless and no pride. That was embarrassing last night.
  20. I didn't say move Bouillon, he is a great #7 and with injuries is very helpfull and does have a great work ethic. Rivet and Suoray can be moved. These 2 positions need to be upgraded.
  21. What the habs really need is to upgrade the defensive core. They are average at best. If that means calling people up, fine. If it means making trades even better, this core group of defense has been average for years. Untouchables are Komi, Dandy (4 year deal) and Markov. Try to trade the rest. I'm sure i'll hear about this but it's an easy scapegoat to blame everything on the goalies. Look at the majority of goals scored this year, slam dunks. Theo has been poor and average several times this year but the defense is poor. Rivet: Playing better but is back to his old form, losing 1 on 1 battles, turning the puck over. The last time he played well was his contract year, i think he is in another contract year. Time for him to move on. Souray: i have no idea what he is doing this year, if it's his personal life nothing but time will fix it. the only D with any trade value. Misses the net way too often, loses 1 on1 battles and is very slow. Bouillon: A #7 d-man on any other team in the NHL, he has been waived by 2 other teams. He does work hard and is tough against the boards. Other then that he has average speed, passing shot and is rerally bad 1 on1 in front of the net. The D needs a tough stay at home d-man to play with Markov. A good skater and passer to play with Komi, and a good 2 way D to play with Dandy. Then we will see how the goaltending is. This team will never go anywhere with the current D.
