  1. Lineup not looking good at all “ ils vont se faire manger tout ronds »
  2. I respect that view, but I am sharing a different view where assets are managed to “buy low and sell high” like Hughes mentionnés in one of his first interviews when he was hired On the long run, if the teams gains in player quality by getting a positive return on trades: it should see an improvement on the ice
  3. Dvorak seems to have returned fully healed. I am not sure if Guhle is 100% ; and if I recall correctly, Harris had missed some time with an undisclosed injury before returning and getting hurt. in Harris case I fear a concussion. He keeps absorbing hits to make plays, he seems to get trapped in the D-zone and to get crushed against the board too often to my liking I hope he can recover fully before returning; when he is “on” he is good
  4. I didn’t know Mesar had such a great shot. He is definitely a better winger than I expected
  5. That is why I am confused in the separation anxiety from trading him. it is not as if he makes the team better, he is good enough for the NHL but not more than that
  6. will he also have to pay at the rookie diner, or is it still only Strubble?
  7. maybe the problem was not the medical staff...
  8. that seems more like a dooms day scenario than a plausible worst case. The same way the Habs picked Montembeault from waivers is still plausible if the wheels fall off the bandwagon. One must consider the possibility that the Habs get valuable players in return for Montembeault. Hug-Gort have been able to make smart trades, if they trade Montembeault I am sure they will get a decent return. I am hopeful
  9. what's the worst that can happen from trading Montembeault? that they miss the playoffs? Allen can find consistency with more regular play and Primeau can share the workload and learn to be a backup in the NHL
  10. same here. that would be a huge return on a stopgap waiver pickup.
  11. Good point on Mysak, the few times I’ve watched LVL he shown energy on the plays and good forechecking. He seems to be shooting more but I am not sure he has much NHL-point potential https://www.habsworld.net/2023/11/rocket-weekly-a-good-showing-in-a-busy-week/
  12. hey @DON , I probably missed it, but do you have the PPGs stats from the prospects? I read that Mesar was at 2.1 ppg this season and I found that great news specially since I've been criticizing that pick recently. Obviously I am not tracking the progress from the prospects as I should. I usually check here: https://www.eliteprospects.com/team/64/montreal-canadiens/in-the-system Fowler seems to be doing fine:
  13. it was not the take from RDS commentators, they talked about how young the team is and how they had played 4 games in 6 nights with travel and that that fatigue showed. The burst of energy at the end was good to see, but not what they highlighted. I found Dobes pretty good in the loss, specially after getting yanked in his last start.
  14. looked tired as the game progressed. A 5 minute power play with less than 4 minutes in the 3rd allowed them to score two. I liked how Armia was playing on the powerplay, he almost tied it as the buzzer signaled the end of the game. Dobes played well, deserved better
  15. I sincerely believe they will do much better than last year, around to the 16th-24th place. There were a lot of positives in the loss yesterday, a lot to be hopeful about. The opportunity to tank last year, is done and I do not believe the team should consider dipping in the standings again unless there a re some catastrophic injuries by Christmas (or half-way of the season). I do not believe they will nosedive if Monahan is traded, as long as the forwards fine their scoring and that the defensemen improve their zone coverage. I can't wait to the 20 game mark to see how they have fared by that point.
  16. I got them hovering at .500 in my prediction. I hope they keep it close and make it an exciting game Go Habs Go! I have a feeling Anderson scores
  17. but farrel IS playing some great hockey, I am happy for him. As for the veiled comment on the past GM, some other poster used very harsh comments on that past GM on another thread without push back (I avoided it adding to that)? how come I get singled out for some tongue in cheek fun with the topic while others can spew their vile ? don't know, man. fickle crowd
  18. Farrel is playing some great hockey. Good late draft pick by the GM not to be named on this board
  19. I am happy to get positive news on the progress Mesar is making, consistency: 8 GP, 4 G, 11 A, 15 PTS https://montrealhockeynow.com/2023/11/16/canadiens-prospect-power-rankings-mesar-fowler-list-highlights-hutson-roy-farrell-mailloux-beck-habs-prospects-mesar/
  20. Dvorak used to play top line in ARZ, didn’t he? I agree that he is a 3C on most teams but he is basically a reliable ce yet with above average faceoff% and good board battle ratio. He can dig up the puck and be a bet presence 14 & 91 are more perimeter players that do not rally complement CC’s style of play
  21. Caufield can’t defend against top lines and he gets mauled on board battles Dvorak is there to shelter him. He was a drag on Suzuki who is scoring more since the split. Caufield is still getting lots of shots out, good opportunity for him to show he can adapt his game instead of being a one dimension super-skilled player
