  1. That's a good point. Officials need to do a better job of protecting players. I would be more than happy to see hockey evolve that way.

  2. Saying it is a dumb move is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But opinion is not fact. There are people that have the opposite opinion and think it was a smart move. This thread is full of great thoughts and analysis debating each side. Personally I think it's a mutually beneficial trade for both sides. I have been tending to argue the optimistic side for the deal because none of us know how this is all going to play out. And there are reasons why it might be a smart move other than the player vs player analysis. A winning team isn't necessarily comprised of the better individual players, and it's certainly debatable which player gives the Habs the better chance at winning at this point in time.

  3. Every one of those face punches in the video was justified. He was on the ice and somebody took a cheap shot at him or his team mate, so he punched his face in. I support this type of face punching. Always have. In a league that encourages backward enforcement of rules and "let's them play" , face punching is still important to me. I am quite happy to have a face puncher playing half the game. He isn't going to be doing stupid stage fights or honor code horse shit. I don't like that junk. If fighting is going to come out of the game, officiating has to improve a lot. There isn't enough fear in the players to deter them from taking cheap shots.

  4. Likely what they will go with and I think it's probably the right call as well. I just remember all those seasons where our PP was fairly lethal and Markov was usually the QB from the left point. Weber should be lethal from there as well and Markov will still get his pp assists.
