Haven't most teams spent way more than the Arizona Coyotes? They are a very poor benchmark.

He is on fire. Great to see. That is a huge game for Laval. -
2023 NHL Entry Draft

Agreed, we all know they are no guarantees when it comes to drafting. The #6 pick could turn out better than the #5 pick but I would prefer my chances with the #5 pick. -
2023 NHL Entry Draft

It sucks Ottawa mailed it in but big wins by Pittsburgh and the Islanders and they have far easier schedules left than Florida. Still a chance Florida misses the playoffs. Hopefully Carolina's last game against Florida is an important game for Carolina so they don't rest a bunch of guys. -
Permanent Trade Proposal Thread

It does look like a win at this point as Dach has scored at about a 20 goal, 50+ point pace and has looked dominant at times. The big question for me is Dach staying healthy as he does look somewhat injury prone. The contract at 3.3M for the next 3 years after this could look like a great bargain. I don't get the Nazar comparison as we have no idea who Montreal would have drafted but I believe we have been over that before. -
Permanent Trade Proposal Thread

I think what happens at the draft will go a long way in shaping Hughes's plans. If they get lucky, move up and get a Fantilli or Carlsson or heaven forbid Bedard then any thoughts of getting Dubois might evaporate. -
Permanent Trade Proposal Thread

I don't agree. Drouin balked at being sent to the minors, refused to play for the minor league team for a while. Dubois never took it that far. I don't begrudge an athlete trying to have some control over where live and play. Dubois didn't pout in Winnipeg this year. He got off to a great start and then slumped along with everyone else on the team. -

I don't necessarily disagree. It's a question of how much you have to give up and how much you have to pay him. He is still only 24 and has hit 25+ goals 3 times in his career. I think we have a pretty good idea of what his floor is, just don't know what his ceiling will be. I am confident Hughes won't rush into anything. -
2023 NHL Entry Draft

Seattle is 1 win from clinching a playoff berth and they can't really move up so that last game with Arizona might be meaningless for them. We need 1 more Arizona win as I think the Habs will sneak one more game. -
2023 NHL Entry Draft

Correct, as pointed out before. If the Habs finish 5th from the bottom, they could draft 1, 2, 5, 6 or 7. -
2023 NHL Entry Draft

Agreed and sometimes size can deceiving. A guy like Crosby is not tall but he has excellent lower body strength which gives him great balance and makes him hard to deal with. That is something that a player can work on and build up. Also as Commandant pointed out these guys are 17,18 and will fill out. Size is great IF you also have the skill. -
2023 NHL Entry Draft

Looks like Florida will move ahead of both Pittsburgh and the Islanders tonight. Hopefully they don't win a couple rounds in the playoffs so the pick is no worse than 18. Pittsburgh has just been awful lately and the Islanders are having trouble scoring without Barzal. -
His offense is way way above Kovacevic's. His wrist shot is phenomenal.

Tank Hard for Bedard (as heard on TSN690)

He can have any number he wants. Except for 4 and maybe 9 and maybe 2 and ........ -
Really. I would have thought his value has gone up as he has shown a lot this year.

2023 NHL Entry Draft

It doesn't sound like natural causes, he was only 51. -
That's true. Having said that how much do you think Mailloux's trade value has gone up speaking hypothetically? He was drafted late 1st round, you would think his value is higher than a late 1st round pick now.

They do and I don't want the Habs to rush him. -

Sounds like a solid plan. -
I think Hughes would go for that. Obviously it would likely take more than just Mailloux but there is no doubt that Mailloux's trade value has gone up this year.

Yeah, he just might make it with the proper development.
