It's funny everyone said habs would be in cap hell with price and weber contracts, but it you look at it everyone who has signed their forward group to big money deals are the ones always in trouble with the cap.

I think if Armia and Danault want too much let them walk. The problem i have with them is that when they go cold it's for a long time and you don't notice them out there. For that reason I don't want to over paid them to stay. Danault at 4-5mil yes anything over 5mil no. Armia at 1.5-2.5mil yes anything over no. I feel that theirs a lot of good 3rd/4th line players out there on the free agency market that we can easily replace them for less and get more out put. Perry and Staal I would bring back along with Lehkonen. Kotkaniemi we need to resign and also Poehling. Like I had mentioned in the other post we need to find a way to get rid of Byron and Drouin contracts. Hopefully we can talk Seattle into taking one of them.

Not really I think they would be more than happy to trade him. But if we can't resign Danault I would offer up Danault UFA rights and a draft pic to Columbus for rights to Laine

This is the fun time a year. I just hope we don't over pay for Danault, if he wants over 6mil let him walk. Theirs a lot of 3rd and 4th line centers in free agency that we can replace his D/face offs skills for less. I would take a gamble on Laine , play him with he's country men maybe that will inspire him. We got to some how get rid of Drouin's and Byron's contracts to have more spending money. I hope we can offer up a pick to Seattle to take one of them. Probably most likely Byron. Blues will lose Tarasenko this off season so maybe if Drouin is going to play next year they would be interested in him. Or call up Colorado and see if they would be interested in reunite him with MacKinnon. Should be an interesting month

Weber isn't going anywhere. The guy that would be left unprotected would be Byron with maybe a side deal in place for Seattle to take him.

Well this didn't take long lol. Here's my take This team has weaknesses and Tampa exposed them. We need to do up grades on our D core and add more Playmakers on the back end. I also think we need to improve our centers on the 4th and 3rd lines. As far as our coaching I think if Bergevin stays then DD is his guy, if Bergevin goes then I think it's a whole new coaching staff. I know we had injuries and guys weren't 100% and a lake of D options so you can't real blame that on DD or the coaching staff can you? I think they did a good job with what they had. As far as rosters change's I would Try to resign Danault if he wants over 6mil let him walk. If we can resign Danault then i would look at trading Kotkaniemi to add a top goal scorer, because we still have Poehling. If we can't resign Danault then we keep Kotkaniemi and go after Laine and take a gamble with him. Tatar is gone Keep Armia Hopefully we can get rid of Byron contract to Seattle Staal is gone Perry is gone Keep Lehkonen Trade Kulak Bring in Niskanen take a gamble on Laine Sign Gruland if Danault goes Lines could look like this Toffoli / Suzuki / Caufield Laine / Kotkaniemi / Gallagher Lehkonen / Gruland or Danault / Anderson Evans / Poehling or Gruland / Armia Chiarot / Weber Edmundson / Petry Romanov / Niskanen Price Allan That's without making any trades to up grade. But with Poehling in the system and the depth at center in free agency I think we could dangle Kotkaniemi out there and see if we can get an up grade at our top center.

I think DD should take out Byron and add Tatar on that line. He would add size and scoring to that line . Tatar / Evans / Lehkonen , I think that would balance our lines better because our smaller guys are being pushed around by Tampa. Byron hasn't been effective in the series on the score sheet and we need more goals especially in Tampa.

Plus if that was the case they wouldn't allow Gretzky's goals count from the WHL.

I wonder if we put him with staal and perry how that would turn out? Those guys open up a lot of ice with their forechecking, it could leave Anderson open a lot . Plus Anderson and Perry both driving to the net could open up more scoring chances.

I just think cooper is showing he's one hell of a coach. He's just simply out coaching us.

First off did anyone really think we could beat Tampa?? I mean look at their talent compared to ours. Look at thier D compared to ours. I'm not taking anything away from the great job our guys did to get here , but Tampa is a different beast all together. I thought we would get 1 maybe 2 games out of this series, but man we're like boy's playing men out there. It's just unfair and it really exposed our weaknesses.

I don't want to see them win the cup in Montreal. Anything but that.
