  1. LTIR doesn't provide any value ... for example, with or without Price on LTIR the Knights could still only have up to $82.M of AAV "on the ice".
  2. Excellent article ... the only thing I see as lacking is any mention of whether or not there is any sort of "safety net" of any left-shot defencemen who usually play on the right-side or are at least comfortable playing on the right-side.
  3. EKLUND WARNING: Big Rumor. Vegas wants to be kept up to date on Carey Price. This just in ... The owner of the Vegas Golden Knights usually gets what he wants ... seee Jack Eichel ... Well now I am being told he wants Carey Price, and the wheels may be in motion...My source was clear that Vegas Knights want Montreal to keep them in mind...more to come I admit to monitoring Eklund for entertainment purposes, not valid rumours ... like the National Enquirer, OCCASIONALLY both actually break legit stories (e.g., OJ's Magli shoes, Tiger's affairs), but not often enough to be taken seriously. THAT said ... the GKs supposed "interest" almost seems plausible because of McFee/McCrimmon/Foley's seeming predilection for acquiring "big name" players ... even via in-season trades ... the rumour is their interest, not an actual trade.
  4. Should have said "Not certain which two are supposed to be is" Anderson or Mailloux" ... only Suzuki is recognizable to me.
  5. Tier 4 of 5 seems about right to me ... Edmundson and Mattheson, primarily, and Savard are enough to keep them from dropping to Tier 5.
  6. Not certain which is Anderson or Mailloux ... both by looks/appearance and because both are listed as 4 inches taller than Suzuki
  7. Apologies ... should have posted but let the "Price to Vegas" rumours begin 🙄 to convey my intended tone ... the rest was a "what-if thought exercise" ... times they are a boring.
  8. It will make little sense unless the Habs retain money but let the "Price to Vegas" rumours begin (if my calculations are correct, retaining $5M would leave Vegas about $1.5M of cap space before going into LTIR, and save the habs $500K and a year of contract term). In all likelihood, Montreal is on Lehner's 8-team NTC so even the details of a possible deal are irrelevant.
  9. It will be interesting to see what player development can do with him ... skating is something that can be improved to a degree ... coasting is something that can definitely be addressed if the player is willing ... and if he is never going to be fast he will have to play with pace (i.e., make smart decisions and move the puck quickly), which could allow him to fit in with faster players ... from comments I've heard I suspect a/the reason he is playing with Bedard and McTavish is that he fits with their "hockey smarts" ... if true, that can also be something that helps compensates for a lack of flat-out speed.
  10. Is adding Lefebvre good news for the Habs vis-a-vis Florida's first rounder? In general with respect to his coaching, and more specifically with respect to his vaccine status? ... he was fired by CBJ before last season because he would not get vaccinated ... seems like an issue with three in-division teams in Canada ... and 4 other road games in Canada ... let alone come the playoffs.
  11. So he would have to spend 100+ days on IR this coming season ... or a minimum 54% of the 183-day long season ... time will tell.
  12. So he would have to spend 100 or more days on IR this coming season ... or a minimum 54% of the 183-day long season ... ***IF*** that happens he may face a difficult time getting a contract next summer.
  13. IMO that is an assumption about both the issues he faced and that they will recur ... last season he missed games due to physical injuries, not "mental health breaks" ... I expect he would get a contract for at least $2+ million dollars and maybe for more than one season ...and that would be cheap for a 0.55 ppg player. Performance bonuses are only allowed in ELCs and for one-year 35+ contracts.
  14. Amongst forwards with an AAV of $5.25-5.75M last season, Drouin was 19th out of 28 such forwards in points per game ... so not HORRIBLE value for money.
  15. With Dubois and Bedard in the pipeline I totally agree KIDDING Currently, which I presume is the basis for the rankings, in on a "good team" context I see Suzuki as a proven 2C with legitimate 1C potential (but likely not elite) ... Dvorak as a good to elite 3C ... Dach as a 4C with significant upside and Evans as a solid 4C ... so I think the rating is pretty close to correct ... but in 2-4 years things could be very different.
  16. It will only happen if, as expected, the Habs are out of the playoff race ... so even Bergevin could have spun it as "Giving Jon a chance at a Cup".
  17. Apologies ... eyes got off-line when scanning across ... but the distribution, 153 over those two seasons and 137 over the other seven seasons, surprised me.
  18. Even the 11th worst team (22nd place overall) has a chance at picking first ... only the 16th place team doesn't have a chance at a top 4 pick ... of course the Habs also have a chance of making the playoffs.
  19. Best wishes ... I was surprised to see that in his 9 season more than half of his games (153 of 290) came over two seasons in Dallas (17/18, 18/19).
