  1. UPDATE: markov and PK split up on the PP today markov beaulieau (insert gonchar) subban gilbert looks like were already setting up a markov/ gonchar tandem on the PP and i couldn't be happier that MT is finally listening to my plea for 2 lefties on the point or 2 righties on the point.... this is going to pay instant dividends as soon as tomorrow!!! ultimately id like to see subban (left half boards) galchenyuk (behind net presence) pacioretty (right half boards) markov gonchar i know wrong thread but I'm rurally excited......
  2. holy freakin lol.... i send this previous message while listening to tsn 690 and just now chris nilan gets an update from jessica on practice today and she says how they split markov and subban on the PP today.. they put markov with beaulieau 1st unit... and subban gilbert 2nd unit.. no changes up front... dd and plex forward lines with markov beaulieau subban gilbert they are finally listening to what I've been saying all along. my guess is this split up is a pre emptive move to insert gonchar on the right side... im predicting 2 power play goals against the bruins if this is stuck with throughout the game..........
  3. i would of liked to see beaulieau on the right side of markov for a game on the PP but now with gonchar in the mix beaulieau will not get a sniff of the PP when gonchar is in
  4. i just think beaulieau doesn't know where to be and when..... hence, needs to learn his position more a simple example of this was last night when MT gave him and gilbert 1st PP wave. they established position and he instantly drifted deep into the zone and out of position. now the back door on the PP is meant to catch a defence sleeping. he creeped in and stayed in ultimately eliminating his point position and a simple puck clear he was un able to keep in the zone, forcing us to re- group.... thats what I'm saying.
  5. one thing he could probably do for sure is teach PK how to get his shot to hit the net more often then not? also, if we expect to go deep into the playoffs this year again gonchar is a huge asset even at 40yrs of age.... sorry, I'm a positive attraction guy.... and I'm sure there is many positives to this deal outside of contract only.... dallas abysmal PK and our horrible PP this season also was a huge contributing factor to this deal as well outside of the dollars.
  6. gonchar is one of the greatest offensive defenders of all time i would think know? there's no way anybody can honestly think even his presence alone as the 7th defence in practice wouldn't help immensely... i think he could be top 20 all-time in every offensive category.. id like to see beulieau back down and tinordi up permanently... beaulieau just seems to not know his position enough yet to merit full time minutes. back to Gonchar... he prefers to play the right side of D more so then left...
  7. markov gonchar PK gilbert or you can use PK on the left half boards in place of paranteau with DD and patch in order to stay on the 1st unit?
  8. are you kidding me? he was an offensive dynamo on the back end in pitts no doubt about it..... ok they had crosby, malkin and company but he still he put up over 50 pts in each season there including 2 x +60 point seasons, obviously minus his injured season.. im intrigued to see him play 1st line minutes on the PP! he is one of very few real PP specialists in this league. in fact he and markov should run/ coach the power play not therrien and his staff
  9. with that said, will MT have the guts to be as bold as MB is in the office, and move subban on the first unit and put gonchar on the right? maybe try subban on the left half boards?? I'm just salivating a bit at the prospect of these 2 russians running our power play, it could be a match made in heaven!
  10. i don't know..... I've been asking for a lefty to play the point with markov for over a year.... has MB finally listened? he heard my pleas to move gorges and bring in a righty (weaver) last year.... i think he might be following me on twitter...lol
  11. i also recall during preseason thinking out loud that he was our most dangerous looking forward in each game he played but had no points to show for it... it looks like we are seeing more of that guy lately and more often... could the points finally start coming?
  12. Am I the only one who thinks this guy is going to be a really good player for us really soon if not right now?? he's been arguably our best forward over the last 6 periods.... I think the reason he chose montreal is that he's oozing with confidence... constantly mixing up in practice with subban and the bigger guns of this team. he is a talent, he knows it, the team knows it and he believes he can make the habs and be an impact..... pretty bold if you ask me choosing the habs over other teams with less depth. am i comfortable with MT and MB giving bourque a fair shake to start the season in the line up and letting him fail before dumping him after a good playoff?? i think so... am i ok with giving a warrior like moen a chance back in the line up and with something to prove after a bad spell of injuries over bournival? i think so. BUT, for the habs organization to make such a statement with bourque about their ambition and willingness to make the right decisions in order to move forward with this team and make them stronger... speaks volumes about the great things this club has been achieving.... They believe in Sekac right now and i think i do to. there was something i see in him during pre season that i still see in him thus far as well as live in buffalo..... this kid has talent to go with his amazing attitude, dedication and belief in himself......
  13. gonna have to agree.... i don't think hossa (drafted simply by last name in hopes of being his brother) and d'agostini (all speed no hands) are even close to comparing to sekac .... sekac in his few games from preseason till now has looked and played like one of our better forwards... in hindsight, sekac could have been scratched all these games for bourque and to a lesser extent moen to help facilitate a trade... now with bourque's recent waiving, sekac barring injury will play all season long... thank GOD!!
  14. FROM ICE LEVEL: I know at first glance you see buffalo and you think geez 2-1 SO win... big deal. however, watching the game from the benches last night i noticed a few things.... ****the pace of the game was actually high last night*** very few whistles it seemed A) buffalo played a very hard skating tight checking game. seems they were really pushing to get a win for gionta and gorges. they seemed motivated.. BTW did anyone notice gorges pinching and shooting the puck in OT? lol B) plex and gorges are not friends.... they were chirping each other all night behind the plays and between whistles. plex took a run at him early in the game behind the net and cross checked him a few times to set the tone for the night between the 2.. C) SEKAC was hands down the hardest working player on the ice. he was skating extremely hard, back checking and sometimes trying to do a little to much. his turn over at the blue line happened literally right in front of me and i was screaming to shoot and instead he tries that telegraphed pass! the hit happened right in my corner as well. he slid the puck from the blue line chased it down in to the corner tried to split the defence to get to the puck and finished the check.... disappointing because he really did some good things out there. and i will be extremely disappointed in MT if he takes him out of the line up again saturday. D) DD is like the little engine that could, rivaled by only sekac in work ethic last night. he just seems to get knocked off the puck to easily... hence his holding and hooking throughout the night to compensate. BTW this guy needs to shoot about 400 pucks on net per practice... E) Markov is without doubt are best defender.... PK subban is a phenom no doubt. but this team would be done, copout, finished, history.... if markov is out of the line up. anyone questioning his signing in hindsight must be thinking how foolish they must be. F) honourable mentions to prust, galchenyuk, gallagher, patches, bournival for playing hard after all this i didn't even mention paranteau and his clutch play... he isn't as slow as you think and i think moving forward he should stick with DD and patch for a little bit. they showed some great promise in preseason and then MT dropped them.. the 3 do seem to play with some cohesion!
  15. don, dont want even want to talk about the PP.... its brutal! tinordi needs to find and stay in this line up is all i know... if were gonna lose at least lose with the kids....
  16. I've been reading this forum in its entirety for 10 years (sure my post count is low but my read count is right up there in rocket richard hall of fame status)... and it seems to me you don't even like the habs.. and are one of the most negative fans I've ever seen come to this forum... and please spare me the mombo jumbo that your a realist and you say it like you see it blah blah blah... do the habs do anything right?? like you keep tossing JM name and what we did in 2010.... our cinderella run in 2010 is not even comparable to LY run... one was a cinderella story. LY it was a young emerging team building off the year prior just like were building this season off LY success (and yes it matters) FACT: habs are one of the top 10 winningest teams in hockey over the last few years... stats don't lie exact spot not sure but i know its right up there!! MT has won way more games then he's lost since his return As for last seasons loss to the rangers i think your completely wrong with that statement. although MT did not have his team prepared to play in game 1 which he is accountable for, the rangers got all the bounces in that series and thats why they won... ryan mcdonaugh was the series best defender not PK lundquist was better than tokarski! not by much but better none the less. best forward can you say st. louis and co or patch? out coached?? get real!!!! New York defeated Montreal in 6 games. -With the Rangers holding a 2–1 lead midway through the second period of Game 1, Kreider collided with Price, Although Price finished the rest of the period and let in a couple goals, he did not return for the rest of the series. Budaj played for the rest of the game but the Rangers shelled us 7–2. out coached? -rookie goalie Dustin Tokarski starts in Game 2. However Henrik Lundqvist stopped 40 of 41 shots, and the rangers score a brace on the PP we lose 3-1. out coached? - we won game 3 in OT after prust took out stepan and some bad bounce goals both ways galchenyuk scores the biggest goal of his career to date. out coached?*** -The Rangers won Game 4, 3–2, as Martin St. Louis scored 6:02 into overtime on the perfect shot into the top left corner of the net..... perfect shot!!! out coached? - The Canadiens then bounced back in Game 5, winning 7–4, as they scored 4 goals out of their first 18 shots, and Rene Bourque recorded a hat trick LOL. although we took the foot off the pedal and allowed the score to climb to 7-4!!! out coached? -However ex hab dom moore ended the series during an emotional rollar coaster off ice(wife) , scored Game 6's only goal very late in the second period, and with a 1–0 lead they put on a clinical defensive effort in the 3rd to close it out.... hardly out coached.. now I'm not saying MT is great, geez I'm not even saying he's good.... but his 85-45 record is very good and hardly that of someone who is even considered in the hot seat... as bad as we've played so far we are still 8-4-1 and i believe good teams find ways to win even when we play poorly and we'll soon get out of this early season slump. just saying negativity brings but more negativity.... and its all i read from you! edit***
  17. MT messed with a winning line up... he did...
  18. i was gonna say.... and miss us finally break out of a major early slump..
  19. with all that said.... markov is carrying the D these days
  20. it seems all of MT's decisions right now just don't seem to pan out..... that and this team just isn't competing right now.... ill be at the game in buffalo tomorrow and these guys better not let my 7yr old down or ill be pissed.....
  21. no matter how you look at it... this team stopped scoring goals and began to slump simaulaneously when sekac came out... even so moen playing well (or not)... sekac needs to draw back in... i don't get it.... he scores that memorable goal in front of his family then gets the yank! patch DD sekac galchenyuk eller gallagher bourque plex weise prust malholtra bournival I'm sorry but bournival brings way to much speed on the forecheck alone to be ignored any longer... he also kills penalties!
  22. now remove all players names and insert markov, souray, schneider, streit, bergeron kovy, koivu, ryder plex etc... etc.. what is the common denominator here... thats right a stable presence on the points
