What a great playoffs that was.....That was the year that, because I was a Habs fan in L.A., I picked alot of Habs & Kings in my Kenaston, Saskatchewan Hockey pool and ended up in 7th place overall, and won $1,000 ($700 U.S.)......Like an idiot, I thought that Jari Kurri was washed up and didn't include him, or else I would have gotten 1st place ($10,000)........In any event, I was at Games 3 and 4 when LeClair scored the OT winners.......It was a great feeling and Patrick did save some of his finest work when the scored was tied in both 3rd periods of those games......As I was walking back to my car after Game 4, I could hear Kings fans muttering his name and shaking their heads.

This past weekend I saw Roenick on local TV here (San Diego) playing celebrity poker at the Pechanga Indian Casino. As I was watching it made me think of the day that I heard about the Tocchet betting scandal, when they said current and former NHL players were among some of the bettors...for some reason, at that time, Roenick, along with the likes of Hull, Tkachuk & Amonte came to mind as possible big bettors......Who knows? I'm probably way off base here, but I wouldn't want Roenick wearing the CH if his name ever did surface.....just speculating, not implicating.

Keep the Cube!!! We need his energy....this is what you call an intangible, something that Kubina/Modin/AnySuchClone does not bring to the game.

All these names being tossed around, and knowing BG, he'll pick up someobody nobody has yet to mention.

That's what I thought as well, but in this context it doesn't make as much sense as "kid"..........I myself would not be too upset if someone called me a "tit XXXXer".....lol!

I have absolutely no problem with this......too many refs like Kerry Fraser have made bad calls that have turned around an entire series (Tor Vs LA in '93, Mtl vs Carolina in '02).....a little too much power for any one is not good......another guy that needs to get off his high horse is McGeough (sp?)...his gesticulations when making a routine call (especially for the home team) are just pure grandstanding.......... imo

Interesting comments so far about what we should do............and knowing BG, he'll do something totally unexpected....in any event, some observations: Garth Murray......although he didn't score, he won every single battle, him w/Begin on our 4th line is a lock. Radek Bonk.......I can't stand players that only play when they feel like it....dump him if we can find a taker. Ribs...........very bad rep around the league, will be hard to trade......... just fire him. Zed......seemed to gel w/Plex & Perez....last chance? Bulis.......Fourth line with Begin & Murray...if he's unhappy about that, then trade him, because he sure as hell proved in the playoffs that he is no 1st or 2nd line player. Dandy....playoff experience showed up big time, to the point where he may have inspired the likes of Komi & Cube to pick up their game Markov.........Finally showed up in the final game, where he actually took some chances.....he needs to play a little more reckless.....however, can't underestimate his PP presence in finding the open man. Souray..........As somebody mentioned earlier, his plusses far outweigh his minuses....leave him alone. Our defence actually played well as a group Aebi....Our best trade bait Next Year's Lines Koivu/Higgins/Ryder ?/?/ Kovalev Plex/Zed/Perez Begin/Murray/Bulis

Good Job! I especially like the Komi crunching Brindamour footage....he, above everyone else is their emotional leader...putting him on his ass didn't hurt our situation.

Caught the Carolina feed on Centre Ice, and to their credit the 'Canes anouncers gave the Habs full credit for the win.....they mentioned that although the shots were one-sided, they really didn't reflect the flow of play, with Montreal getting more quality opportunities...........I tend to agree, because most of their shots were off their offensive zone cycle, and came at Huet from angles......however, especially during their PPs, we did block a lot of potential dangerous shots from the point (Carbo's influence)..........When the 'Canes started getting frustrated and tried the old "crash the net to shake up the goalie" bit, I knew they were done!

I know I'm being overly optimistic, but with 2 more Habs wins and the Flyers beating NJ on Sunday, don't we get 6th place ahead of NJ?

Don't think it will Streit.......he seems a lot more confident out there and his physical play has actually picked up in our end........But what i like most about him, and Dandy for that matter, is that lately they are being aggressive offensively, jumping in on plays from the blueline (and hustling their butts off on the odd occasion where they have been caught too deep).......this all has to do with the team having an increasing confidence in Huet that they are willing to take these chances and create and capitalize on scoring opportunities. As far as defencemen go, Dandy has been a scoring machine of late!

Yeah I noticed that as well......I believe Philly also still has to play NJ twice more as well.............fifth place, although improbable at this stage, is still attainable for both the Habs & Devils.

That is his game.........it is effective as well as entertaining.......It is one of the reasons why we are winning...............Who cares if he's a puck hog or not?.......The opposition is spending so much time & energy trying to chase him down that others are getting open and scoring.................and, by the way, didn't his line score 3 goals last night?

..........and he has to answer to Kovalev! Probably the first time he is playing on a line with someone who has more natural talent than him.....I believe he is in the process of being humbled, and it is starting to show up in his unselfish play of late.

You think Murray was happy to be playing a regular shift and flying all over the ice last Saturday?.....wait 'til tomorrow!....he knows that these kinds of opportunities won't come along that often in his pro career.....and he needs to make the best of it!!

Right, but I don't think the refererence was towards Ribs trying to achieve payback....remember hockey is still a TEAM game.

A few reasons why I thinks Ribs will do better in these playoffs (not that he's one of my favorites): 1. The refs will (hopefully?) keep calling the game as they have in the regular season. 2. Kovalev's mere presence on his line will hold him to a higher standard.......... Except I can't stand it when Ribs tries to imitate some of Kovy's stickhnadling moves....and looks foolish coughing up the puck. 3. If he has any hope for staying on with this team after this year, he has to redeem himself for that embarassment to the organization in the last playoff series vs Boston (which is why the Bruins are still going after him 2 years later). 4. With his favorite playmate Theo gone, it's time he grows up!! JMO
