Cross your fingers for a breakout next season. A Rick Nash type 60 to 80 point big man who can protect the puck, win every puck battles almost, and has soft hands. Unicorn player
The gallagher interference probably was interference. Weak but he was in the blue and impeding bobs stick. The Heineman interference was a total screw up though. He didn't make any movement toward the other player. He was stationary and the other players movement was toward him. Either way, no harm last night.
I was about to post this exact sentiment. While making the playoffs is doubtful, having important games against elite teams in March, gives the team some good experience either way.
I don't know why, but even when he was new to the Habs and wasn't doing well, I still liked Monty. Not sure if it's his positioning, or movement or what it was. Its nice to see his stats climbing.
Very good contract for a defensive master. I was concerned about losing him. 2.85 seems very reasonable. He's a bottom 6 guy, so 3.5+ would have been too much of an overpay. Now get Armia on a team friendly extension. Keep these 3 together.
Evans must want a lot. He's a 4th liner who gets a hot stick for a few games a year. His defensive play is top notch and you have to think Hughes wants to keep him. He's gotta be in the 3.5+ for 5 territory in his ask if they haven't made a deal yet.
