The lack of finish seems to be striking again. So many grade-A chances squandered that could have offset the pk fails.

Same old shit. The 5 on 3 aside, the Leafs are just better. They have had more sustained cycles in our end, buried more of their grade A chances, and have been better defensively when it mattered most. I'm ready to call our first 10 games an illusion. Beyond disappointed in this team.

We are going to need A-game Price to weather the first minute of the 2nd period down two men.

We need this game. The Leafs are tired...this will be their 3rd game in 4 nights.... we need to jump on them early; attack with speed while finishing every single check. Don't ever let them catch their breath...break them mentally to the point where they just mail this one in.

Carey finally did his job...did not give up a soft goal, therefore giving the team a chance to win on a night when they didn't score many goals. Toffoli is a beaut, and Gallagher's hard work got rewarded when we needed it most. HUGE win.

Suzuki passing up a shot to try and make a half assed pass... so many guys are playing stupid hockey right now.

Kotkaniemi has really looked bad the last few games. How did he miss by that much on that last long pass attempt?

They seem to have a little bit more jump, but still can't generate shots on net.

That was a terrible period of hockey. They look like they don't care yet again.

They were bad on that goal too, but have looked engaged in other games this season more often than not. Danault, however, has been mailing it in more often than not.

Danault is absolutely useless.

I want to see a tougher Claude Julien behind the bench tonight. He needs to sit passengers in favor of guys who are going hard regardless of experience/salary level, and let it be known that bad penalties will result in benchings. It's time to get team discipline up to a high level and hold everyone accountable...the season is too short for patience. They need to win this game. I need them to win this game...I cannot stomach the thought of Leafs fans taunting me with "3-0" until April when we next play them!!!

After chewing on this loss for awhile, I'm feeling like our young centers have struggled lately (makes sense, as consistency is a challenge for inexperienced players)....and what's killing us is that our experienced center who thinks he's worth 6M a season has been absolute dogs**t during their struggles and hasn't driven any scoring to compensate. It seems like the only guy going 100% every shift is Josh Anderson....I wish we had 2 more of him.

I'm done watching....need to find some entertainment to calm my anger.

I'm questioning why I am continuing to watch this game...they are doing NOTHING.

The lack of sustained pressure in the offensive zone is frustrating. The number of shots either missing the net or right in the crest are frustrating. The lack of passion is beyond frustrating...it's infuriating. Wake up you goddamned bums...Jesus H Christ!

I'd be ok with Allen getting all the starts vs. the Leafs if he gets us a win on Saturday.

He lets in a suspect goal each and every game....I've come to expect it. He wasn't good enough tonight to bail out his team from a sub-par effort, nor were they good enough to bail him out for that unscreened long shot that should be saved. I've said it before and I'll say it again; that bad goal is the difference between stealing a point and not...he just doesn't do it very often, and at his cap hit it gets kind of sickening after awhile. Just as pissed at the rest of the team though...lack of execution and not finding that extra intensity in a rivalry game was a major let-down.

We need to win this game. Anything that can slow Leafs Nation's planning of a cup parade at this point would be welcome...the way many of them rave about this team, you'd think it was the 91 or 92 Penguins they are talking about. No bad penalties and we should win convincingly if Price does his part. if he looks off early, make a switch...can't throw this one away.

I don't think a player can get his number retired in Montreal without having at least 2 cup rings, so I sure hope that you are right.

I feel the same way. Most of the Habs penalties were well deserved...only one truly bad call against. My axe to grind was how many noncalls there were on Sens infractions.

I think that Carey Price should be treated the same as any other player: earn your icetime. If you are underperforming, your tenure/salary/past accomplishments should mean nothing...you should sit in favor of a player who is getting the job done better than you are. Allen should have every opportunity to make the lion's share of the starts if Carey can't outplay him. On the flipside of that, Carey should have every opportunity to win back the lion's share of the starts should he find his A-game and outperform Allen. I believe in meritocracy, whethere it be in business, academics, or sports.

Price should be on a short leash...if he looks dopey, I'd be quick with the hook.

Spending so much time shorthanded will do that.
