And as for younger brother Sergei - here's another guy that needs powerskating lessons. I'm surprised by how slow he is....

It wouldn't be insulting for Lats to be compared to Lucic - it would be discouraging to him. He'll never be like that. Like Habsfan said, Carbo shouldn't have even used the words Lucic and Latendresse in the same sentence. If Latendresse was having somewhat of an identity crisis up to that point, that made it even worse

I think this was a real dumb thing for Carbo to say... real dumb. It's pretty obvious Latendresse will never be another Lucic - he's just not that type of guy. Lucic is a thug who can score... he's got an innate meanness, anger and aggression (comes from his turbulent Yugoslav roots maybe?) that Latendresse just doesn't have. You can't force it. Latendresse will turn out (hopefully) to be something like a Glen Murray - big strong guy, hard to move off the puck in front of the net, soft hands, good shot/quick release. Senseless, needless pressure put on Latendresse by Carbo. That man says some really stupid things sometimes.

I agree, but who do we get rid of to accommodate him? Would be a bit of a dirty move considering he just got here and he seems happy to be a habs, but I'd find a taker for Lang.

yeah, a brief demotion of Sergei to Hamilton for awhile and call-up of D'Agostini wouldn't hurt. It's very early in the season - this is the time, if any, to experiment.... so why not. A little shake-up, as JeanLucPilon said a few posts ago.

Sorry, but I just don't see any of this new speed or any general improvement in Latendresse. He's completely a non-factor out there. I know he's just a kid, but it's a little disconcerting. I'm not anti-Latendresse... (nor am I Antii-Laaksonen), but I wouldn't be averse to sending him to Hamilton (and bringing up D'Agostini) for some MUCH needed seasoning and confidence-boosting. Seems to me at the beginning of the season I heard somewhere that he had 10 or 15 games to play before he could not be sent down without going through waivers. OK,let me have it.... I can take it.

It seems that Sergei doesn't fit too well with Kovalev and Plekanec. He looks a little overwhelmed being thrust onto that #1 line. I was hoping Carbo would swap Higgins for Sergei in the 3rd period - Higgins played a pretty good game and had good jump.

Tanguay is the man who's making that line go. What hockey sense he has.

Hope it's just his foot bothering him, but Koivu looks slow out there.

With all due respect, I thought Sergei stunk... as he has for all the pre-season (except maybe one game). I'm concerned ... there's something up with him. He could be the cut that lets MaxPac stay.
