  1. This quote sounds intentionally confusing, or maybe I'm just analysing it too much. He's not leaving out the possibility of splitting them up - he'll just say it's going to be hard for him.
  2. Seconded for Sammy for the OT. He'll walk past the D like pylons and put it in. I'll even show people my boobs if I'm wrong. (not true.)
  3. I think we should trade Samsonov for a bag of pucks!
  4. Very very fickle. But then again it's always about the person who shouts the loudest to be heard. But these fans are pretty critical and overly sensitive. Whenever a player is doing slightly bad, regular fans admit it and the real haters come out of lurking and claim "I said it all along..." etc etc. I wish everyone should just hold hands and concentrate their hate into love. Or hating other teams and saying bad things about them.
  5. Samsonov has a family here, it seems more like he's afraid that he'll no longer become a needed player. I think there is a valid argument here, management said that they were at least going to give it a month before they make genuine judgements - even longer since Ribeiro's departure. But now he's been shoved to a line he has barely any experience playing with. And it shows that despite not having the hard points it's not from lack of trying. And if the problem is lack of production, why is it that they're not willing to keep Samsonov on the line considering he's been improving while Lats has had no point production but they're willing to put all the eggs in one basket? Potential? I have no idea.
  6. It's one thing for the top two lines to not score. It's another for everyone to just die and let the other team throw pucks into the net.
  7. Pretty soon Sammy will be "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
  8. From nhl.com Total Shots: 6 Total Goals: 2 Home: Shots: 4 Goals: 0 %: 0 Road: Shots: 2 Goals: 2 (one of them a game decider - viewable here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tn8QUbonqt4 ) %: 100 Not too flash but not too shabby.
  9. Um, Phaneuf scares me. I have a nightmare of him mowing down all the small forwards and doing a Phaneufer on the bigger ones like he did on Hamel. But I'm still keeping the faith.
  10. You know who stood out? The Zamboni driver.
  11. Maybe he's asking him out on a date... Nah.
  12. ... Points total? Now? Seriously what is with this need to make points and score so early on? If they're going all out so early what the hell is going to happen in the middle? I don't want the team to run out of juice and just die. Hemsky's been criticized of not shooting the puck but he's been appreciated because of his contribution to the team. Likewise with Samsonov when he was with the Oilers - he helped these guys make it to the playoffs. He actually made some great plays in the playoffs in certain games. Sure he wasn't a total hero every single second but I'd take him over a floater. And I doubt his lack of production isn't from lack of trying. How many games has he played in the regular season with the same linemates? Oh yeah, 2. I'm sure other players in other teams aren't exactly getting points like skittles.
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SAKU-KOIVU-MONTREAL...1QQcmdZViewItem (A Koivu one - Med size) You can just replace the name & number and it'll still be cheaper. There a couple of replicas that are cheap too I think.
  14. Wow I was telling myself "they'll never win this..." and they did! Maybe if I start hating the Habs they'll keep winning! Just sayin'.
  15. But when he was younger in Russia, the big team he sort of did like was the Red Wings because at that time there were Russian players on the team. Something like that. Can't be bothered listening to the interview all over again. But he did say his favourite movie was Usual Suspects.
  16. Is it just me or does everyone really enjoy killing themselves?
  17. Sounds reasonable. From what I hear from Samsonov, he was the only guy working hard in the 2002 playoffs in the Bruins. Not to mention when he entered the Oilers he averaged about a point per game - with linemates that were sometimes less than stellar (Dvorak). And Sammy's grown up to idolize before, he said his favourite team was the Detroit Red Wings when he was younger (in some old Oilers interview on the website). I think the heart comment is a little flawed. There are many "European" players who always wanted to be on one team. Doesn't Ovy like the Habs?
  18. There'll be many hockey fans jumping over the glass so they can stop the Leafs shots so it wont happen
  19. Sorry I'm too busy burning my Kovalev jersey and autographs! The guys need an incentive like "That's it! If you lose the next game, no meeting your family & friends till you win the next one!". Either that or no ice cream.
  20. I hate seeing the blame put on single players. I mean this isn't all black and white. I'm not saying Samsonov isn't at fault - for the time being he's been lazy but if he could handle being a crappy line with the Oilers, he'll do something well with the Habs. Plus it's preseason, who knows maybe he is being lazy on purpose in order to avoid injury before the games start. But for them to win games, it's going to need a lot of improvement on everyone's part. And well, as people said, players have known to be dead weight at start and now teams can't imagine their team without them.
  21. Dannis must be choking real bad at the start. Though if he plays steady it'll be okay. I mean come on! You only faced 5 shots!
