  1. HAHAHA do people honestly beleive that two weeks will build up Halaks trade value !!!!! 2 weeks will increase his trade value from a mediocre player to an ok player in return. and over the rest of the season we will be lucky if that turns into an alright player. GM's know what Halak can do by watching him in the AHL. Some people need to look at this differently I really dont know why every one is all like, "we owe it to Halak" this is why you would never be the GM of an NHL team! Look at what happened when gretzkey felt like he "owed" players a chance to go to the Olympics...it backfired and we were dominated when it was clear that guys like Crosby and Phaneuf should have been on the starting roster. I like Halak but Price is the future!
  2. "It was Chris Cuthbert that brought it up after healy said it earlier. " true, my bad...I thought the guy calling the play with healy was Gord Miller no? did Healy mention it? he seemed pretty adament about letting whoever said it know that he had just jinxed him
  3. I just dont understand why these announcers do this! Like hell its happened three times this year Price versus Toronto......3 mins after the aqnnouncer says it...goal, against Tampa it was said...goal and now tonite.....I gunna lose my mind Pierre Mcguire wont say it so why do these people that never played a minute of NHL hockey in their lives feel the need to say it....Time to get all these little rich boys that dont have any claim to fame in hockey to GTFO!!! It completely baffles me, when I was playing competitive hockey we got benched for 2 shifts if we mentioned shutouts at all!
  4. I THINK I AM GOING TO ASSASINATE THAT FAT %^$# GORD MILLER!!!!!!! WHAT A FAT $%^&!!!!! THAT IS THE THIRD %^&*ING TIME MONTREAL GETS BURNED BY AN ANNOUNCER SAYING SHUTOUT!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT EVEN 3 SECONDSA AFTER HE SAID IT!!!! ^%$# I AM SOOO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW, CHRIIIIIIIST!!!!!!!!
  5. It will hurt if Ryder comes in and plays shitty being a negative player and hindering the team. Ryder is a bug MAYBE, while Chips has shown he can get it done, and Chipchura is sooooo much stronger on the puck than Ryder is, forget which game it was where he took it and looped around into the netminder and then someone potted the uck for the goal(was it against WAS?) I just hope that if Ryder does not show he is ready after two games they dont try to force him into regaining his form. IMO this should be his last straw, give him two games with a good amount of PP time. If he doesnt bring it ship him for something, anything....if he regains his form somewhere else we will see all the CARBO boo birds come out, but we will know deep down inside carbo tried everything he could. No use taking Kosty JR. off the top line as he is performing amazingly and has a great future at the moment. But I like how Carbo has taken an offensive player in Higgins and put him with Ryder on the third. this shows that Carbo is trying his best to get Ryder going. OT- Was anyone surprised/ happy to see SKost playing on the point on the PP! Great move by Carbs IMHO, it shows that he is aware!
  6. not a fan of Chips sitting for Ryder. Loyalty is one thing, but when its clear that this guy is sucking it up its time to play our future which is what Chipchura is! If Ryder does not perform tonite I hope he is shipped away or not played anymore, this is getting ridiculous, the guy just SOES NOT have it this season!
  7. I have to agree that NOW russians are not so bad, but when Perzhogin was in the U-18's we were still seeing the typical russian half assedness! Perezhogin had good work ethic COMPARED to his Russian counterparts. ...in the NHL when a guy is considered a fringe top line player he has to show signs of being ready when he is put to the challenge. Perezhogin didnt show this, and everyone can disagree, but I guarantee you...I saw it, and the coaching staff saw it. If he showed his potential when playing top minutes he would have stayed! Proof of this is Higgins! When he was given top minutes he seized the opportunity immediatley. uch like Lattendresse did the year after. When Perezhogin was on the top line he rarely showed results which is why he is in russia right now!
  8. I was very surprised last night, I dont think I ever saw him move that fast. I thought it was Higgins chasing the puck, and the I saw 46 and I was like, "WOAH!!!" I think the kid is gunna get 40+ points this year, and next year we will se the Andrei Kostitsyn we drafted! Most people forget that in one of the deepest drafts in history this guy was projected to go top-3! Does anyone have an ISS scouting report from the month before the draft! I would like to see if im right about him being ranked that high!
  9. I honestly beleive his "vicious" attack on that guy in the AHL was his downfall. I think it really affected him! It also lost him some "brownie points" in the eyes of management and cost him a year of development in the AHL. When he finally came up to the Canadiens he had some good games on the top line, cooled down and never played the same again. was routinely put onto the top line and continued to struglle showing worse inconsistency than Alex Kovalev last season. HAHA I love how people bring up what a Russian Coach said about his work ethic at the U-18's!!! That was then, this is now buddy! GREAT! He had amazing work ethic for a Russian player!!! Thats like saying he is the best worst player in the league! Also I dont think the deffinition of work ethic in Russia is the same as work ethic in Canada, the Russian coach was probably like, "OMFG he backchecks!!!! This guy works sooooo hard!"
  10. IMHO it is time to forget about Alex Perezhogin. I really am not a fan of a guy who runs away to Russia when he doesnt get the playing time he wants. IMO he never seized his opportunities and he got run out by guys that played harder than him, and even now Sergei is further along in his development and Andrei is showing that unlike him he can score. Couple that with the fact that Perez will always be offered better money to play in Russia and the chances we see him again are very slim. He makes himself sound cute saying that he was homesick(I beleive I heard this somewhere...if not my bad), but the real reason he left is because he didnt get the playing time he deserved, but when he did he rarely capitalized on his chance to prove himself.
  11. I really dont see the point in this thread! GM's do not want to lose guys when they become UFA's, therefore they lock them up Long-Term, Price will likely be the same!
  12. yeh thats true...I consider last year and the year before his rookie season. ...this year is his sophmore year! Next year he should be ready to go as a consistent producing forward!
  13. he could get 40 points this year. I think next year will be his break-out year...I say three years to break out, last year was considered his "rookie" year...then he has o go through an ok season and then next season he will know the game...have some chemistry and he will probably take off!
  14. My coach always told me in games like this you need to play with hate! He used to come into the dressing room, stand in the centre and the only thing he would say would be "hate". We won all our rivalry games, So play with hate boys......Thats your puck, some little lafs are trying to steal from you...BAM! "...here comes the pain baybee"
  15. Someone in the Gamethread said they hoped Kostitsyn doesnt go flying around because he plays like he's 4'11" :puke: ...HAHAHAHAHA!!! I will get to watch him on CBC tonite...I hope I remember the game tho exams finish tonite DRUNKEN TIMES!!!! I LIKE!
  16. "I hope Sergei doesn't go flying around on the ice. The guy is pretty tall but plays like if he's 4 feet tall. He need to use his size to his advantage or he'll end up getting pushed around like in pre season." Go type in Sergei Kostitsyn on youtube and watch his hit on downie, then watch the multiple compilations of him. The guy hits. Like i have been told, do your research b4 you post
  17. Radulov had a lot to do with it, didnt he score like 167 points in the Q that one year. It is time for people to realize that Esposito is simply not that good. PIT took him because they have nothing to lose. But I doubt he will ever be anything more than a second liner who may score 50 points. If he becomes more I will eat my words, but I dont think he will. This makes Mcdonaugh look a whole lot better, as he missed the cut in his first chance to make the team, not getting skipped on three seperate times!
  18. Well its official: Prolly gunna be S. Kost/Higgins-Koivu-Higgins/S. Kost A. Kost-Plex-Kovy Lattendresse-Chipchura-Dandy Tommy K-Lapierre-Streit (or is there someone I am missing?) Hammer-O'Byrne(I feel that this line has taken over the #1 pairing, they were out against the top lines against TB, and most ppl over analyzed why Komi was on that line....it was because Carbs wanted Hammer and Komi against Vinny and Marty) Markov-Komi Bouillon-Gorges :hlogo: These are decent lines IMO, First line has Higgy as the goal scorer and S. Kost and Koivu can just feed him in front of the net aaaaalllllll day long. Second line is...well...you have seen games prior. Lats and chips seem to have some good chem going and Dandy looked ok last game a good complement. And the fourth is all defensive. The defence core looks good, I dont find Boullion all that bad...and Gorges has really stepped it up IMHO this year.
  19. we are a team that rools four lines...so we need a fourth line centre. My prediction is he jumps right in with Koivu, they showed some chemistry in the pre-season: Higgins-Koivu-Kostitsyn Kostitsyn-Plex-Kovalev (Why break up this line, A. Kost is just starting to look dominant, it makes no sense to break it up) Lattendresse-Chipchura-Ryder/Dandenault Tommy K-Lapierre-Dandenault/Ryder Hamrlik-O'Byrne Markov-Komi Streit-Bouillon/Gorges this makes sense given our situation and previous lines.
  20. Kovaqlev usually misses the net on the shootout. Koivu is the best shootout guy on the team, and i think his shot might have gone in, how could the ref see from behind the net? I think it should have at least been reviewed. Kosty had another great game, so he deserved his shot, and pleckanec got us there. thats why those three shot
  21. I can see why Kovalev was not in the shootout, he has not been that successful in it. Kosty is 1 for 3, Koivu is a shootout monster and Plex had a great game.....I bet Kovalev was fourth
  22. well I would say the biggest thing going for him right now is the fact that its his second year. Like NHL rookies, some coaches take a bit of time to adapt and figure out their mistakes...I think Carbo is getting better, and as soon as we get a RW sniper to play with Saku and Higgs on the first line we will be fine...some ppl seem to forget that he was a coach of the year candidate in his first season until the flu bug hit. Players need to take responsibility some times....Carbo's tried everything short of jumping on the ice himself!
  23. "Well seeing as Koivu has scored ONE goal in his last 17 games" isnt koivu a playmaker....he only scores at most 20 goals a season and he always has a slump like this? Kostitsyn might not be lighten it up, but what do you think is more consistent...a guy on ur line every game, every shift...or having the right side inconsistent every game and always filled by converted Defenceman...or a guy who has nooooo idea how to play anymore in Ryder! But whatever, ridicule my posts anytime, it really doesnt affect me, ill just keep coming back, I did it during my hockey days and I do it now! Its how I feel, and no one can change this!
  24. LOL, I have heard some lousier comments like Koivu isnt motivated....that is alot lousier than anything I said. I also know that Kovalev has been leading in points, but look at his linemates as well, he has had consisten line mates for the last 12-15 games in kosty and Plex while Koivus line changes on a game to game basis, is there any such thing as chemistry???? Koivu is not the problem...the problem is having a converted defenceman on his Right hand side who cant score. Please dont call my post lousy because it is far from it. Great there was a team of the past (where are they now?)...last I saw that team is gone now, and this team "in the present" (since I need to be soooo specific) is nothing without Koivu in terms of leadership and work ethic...which "FRENCH" media buzz says he lacks work ethic, but dont the "FRENCH" media want him out because they need a French superstar who will be captain and they think Saku is the only one that can pull that guy into MTL. If you want to see a problem right now, its time to look at lats who has become the new FrenchMedia circle jerk so to speak. I like Guillame, but I think he is just a tad too slow right now for the NHL level and he is not getting any flak simply because he is French. But who knows! Maybe try Lats on the right wing! P.S I have absolutley nothing against French Canadians, I just think that the French Media has ruined the team's chemistry year after year. Last year it was the whole Kovalev thing that at the time of year we were at and with our struggles we really did not need. anyway, take my post for what you will, if it is indeed "LOUSY" thenI am sorry, please send me some tips on how to post an unlousy post in a forum. I speak whats on my mind and sometimes this offends people, but I really find it hard to beleive that Saku has been seen as the problem when he is only 3 points back of Kovalev "all mighty godly leading scorer of this team" who is getting nothing, even though he hasnt register a point in a couple games!
  25. Habs will rebound against a Richardless team....Carey will be ready for this one....mark my words...he just got embarrased in front of his parents, he will want to win this one...first career you know what???
