I thought Armstrong was one of the better forwards against the Leafs. Not lighting up the scoresheet but he has been pretty good. I don't think he'll be taken out of the lineup if he keeps playing like he has been...

I still think it's a tough trade to make. The Habs are first in the East and are "likely?" headed to the playoffs. You cannot get smaller and expect to beat the big teams of the east in a seven game series. I get the whole cap relief, possible free agent thing, but why not try to win it this year? If Cole continued to struggle you move him at the deadline.

I don't like it.. I think Cole has more playoff potential... Meaning, if the Habs were going to go far we would need Cole at his best.. Not sure Ryder is the guy. Unless this is a precursor to something else, it hurts the short term but helps the long term.

Any chance Geoffrion plays with Eller and Leblanc?

The answer has to be Marc Crawford, with Patrick Roy as his assistant. Crawford could groom Roy much like the coaches did with Muller.

About 30 minutes ago my friend told me the Habs had made a trade with the LA Kings. I checked everywhere, found nothing, and called him a liar. Now EK (yes, that idiot) has just posted that the Kings are up to something... My friend is now gloating saying it is a trade with Montreal. He's called 50 times in the last 4 minutes. We bet a case of beer that it was a lie. Probably just a coincidence... but stay tuned!

This is supposed to be a rumour thread, not an argument over the capabilities of our head coach. Martin has been incredible. It is laughable that somebody thinks he is reigning in players in an attempt to one day take PG's job. Isn't is usually the coach who gets fired when players don't perform? Moen is a good, serviceable 3rd or 4th liner. He'll play hard and score the odd goal. But to suggest his stats are down because of miss use is ignorant and wrong. There are SO many factors that go into stats. So PLEASE... Leave the coach alone. As long as we're in the playoffs contending each year, WHO CARES! ALso... anybody got any rumours?

Lecavalier played great in the playoffs. He'd bring WAY more to the ice than Gomez does.

I love Gomez the guy, but Gomez the hockey player would probably best be suited elsewhere. Trade him and try to sign somebody. If not then give the role to Eller and let him develop. My outrageous predicition... Tampa Bay signs Stamkos to a huge contract and has to move some salary. Montreal moves Gomez and brings Lecavalier home. Just a hunch...

I'm hoping Martin puts Eller with Pyatt and White and has them play against the Ryder line. They've done it with Pleks against the Lucic line, now they need to start stopping the line that is hurting the most. This is the BIGGEST game of the series... IF Boston wins then they realize 1) They can win in Montreal and 2) are 1 game away from erasing their horrible start. IF Montreal wins then they take a HUGE lead and probably put the Bruins in a season over mindset. GO HABS GO!!!!

I think what I want to see early is Ryan White fight somebody. Just to send the message that we're not going to be messed with. And if the Habs could score first... big game from the Eller line... C"MON!!!!

Great WIN!!! I expect better performances in Game 2 from a few Habs... Eller looked a bit nervous, Cammy just missed getting a couple good chances off his stick, and Pouliot had some favorable matchups that I think he'll exploit. Great game though. Price was awesome, Gomez was the best player on the ice, and PK Subban is just incredible. Big game on Saturday.. score 1st and it could take the wind right out of the Bruins sails. GO HABS GO!

AK bloked a Chara shot and limped off. White shouldn't have gotten a penalty. Two players push each other and 1 gets a penalty. Even on the replay it looked like the ref was calling them both but only White got a penalty. Brutal.

AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I drove 7.5 hours to see this game. Got cheap tickets off ebay and decided to take the wife to her first Montreal road game. Some observations: Gomez tries to be WAY to fancy and turns the puck over a lot. Just not enough intensity with him. PK Subban is awesome. Looks like Guy Lafleur out there. The whole team kind of lagged in this game. Pleks and Cammy were too lazy. Not enough tough work. Seriously, our best forward in this game was Lars Eller. He brought it every shift. Obviously, made a couple small mistakes, but was hitting the ice hard. very impressed. Anyways, a VERY positive note... Met Pk Subban in St. Louis. He was getting coffee. Signed my PK jersey and gave the wife a hug. Such an awesome guy. Made the trip worth while. Dropped the jersey off today to get framed. I love it!

Agree completely... JM has done a fantastic job! Given the injuries, to be sitting in the spot they're in... great job.
