If I am MB I do not trade Tinordi at this point. He is potentially the type of Dman that we have yearned for since I can remember. Just imagine him clearing the crease in front of Price and the opposition would think twice before taking a run at him. Carey needs to be protected.

As enticing as Kessel sounds on the wing for the Habs, I shudder at the thought of getting ripped off down the road trading with our Canadian rivals. Whether it be whoever we send them becomes a star or Kessel starts to stink up the joint with his massive contract. That being said, he is pretty much exactly the type of player that we need.

Yeah that is way too much for Eberle. Maybe something like Eller, Fucale and a prospect would make sense for both sides. I'm starting to have visions of Lupul wearing the bleu, blanc et rouge for some reason. How about Parenteau, Thomas and a pick to get er done

Would like to pick up any one off of my wish list: Erik Johnson Justin Williams Jason Pominville Jaromir Jagr Adam Larsson Wayne Simmonds Cody Franson

Personally I know next to nothing about advanced stats but it does seem like they are skewed a bit. Your example is similar to how these Habs play. They rarely ever just throw the puck on net or take low quality shots.

Thanks bud

Here we go again. Therrien has nothing to do with the success of Price, Subban and Crosby. But yet is at fault for the "lack" of development to other players. I think the proper way to look at the success of the players is by looking at how the TEAM is doing. It's not all about personal stats, it's about wins. From Therrien all the way to Bergevin to Molson, they have implemented a TEAM first concept. This is the best Habs TEAM in decades and I couldn't be happier

I must say that it is very nice to not only have a plethora of prospects and picks in the system, but also cap space to be able to swing a deal. This is an exciting time Habs fans

I am willing to negotiate haha

How about Simmonds and Luke Schenn for Eller, Emelin, Fucale and a first?

I think we can all agree Gilbert is a bum but it's not as easy as bringing up Tinordi to replace him. Gilbert is the only RH shooting D we have other than PK. Do we go for Franson like we initially intended to in the offseason?

Fun fact for the day: MaxPac is 1st overall in the NHL so far with a +29! I don't recall a time where a Hab was among the leaders in that category. Give that man the 'C'

So by your logic, a 19 year old Kane was better than a 20-23 year old Kane, but will somehow be a 35-45 goal scorer in the future. Makes sense. Also by your logic, the 2 prospects and the 1st round draft pick won't amount to anything of significance because they are only middle to late first round. Somebody better break the bad news to the kids, Habs29 said so. I didn't realize you were in discussions with GM's around the league to get a value on the market for Stafford. 3rd or 4th round pick is his value I guess. And finally, the Leafs traded 2 firsts and 1 second round pick for Kessel. If you consider the Jets/Sabres deal to be Myers = Bogosian, then that means Kane + Kasdorf = 2 firsts (Armia, pick) + 1 second (Lemieux)+ Stafford. I don't see how that is giving up more considering when the Leafs made the deal they clearly didn't believe they would be picking second overall the following year. And you would rather Kane than Kessel? As much as I love busting Kessel's chops, you have to give credit where credit is due. The guy is like top 5 in scoring over the last few years, while Kane has been busy taking pictures with stacks of money, alienating himself from his team and regressing as a player from age 19 as you have already stated. Exactly. Can you imagine? Luckily MB is running the show

Myers>Bogosian Stafford, 2 prospects not 1, and a 1st round pick > Kane Considering the corner that Winnipeg was painted in, they made out like bandits in this deal. Joel Armia was drafted 16th overall, Brendan Lemieux is Claude's boy and was drafted 31st overall and another 1st round pick to add to the Jets already impressive arsenal of prospects. This deal makes them better right now AND in the future. I also don't understand the love fest for Kane, he popped 30 goals one time and hasn't even hit 20 any other year. Sure he has the tools to possibly reach his potential but doesn't mean he has the toolbox to carry them around in. And if recent and past events are any indication, I'm not so sure it will be a happy ending for Buffalo.

GDT Arizona Coyotes at Montreal Canadiens | February 1st, 2015 | 1300 EST

Armchair fan's opinion > player and coach's opinion obviously -
That is an intriguing proposal but I think it leaves too much of a hole on our D. Plus I think I like making fun of dough boy too much for him to be a Hab

I have no idea why people make a point by saying " if we didn't have Price we would be screwed". Well, we DO have Carey Price. He is one of the best players in the league and we are lucky to have him. There is no question that our game plan is centered around the fact that we DO have him. Until we DON'T have him and we are losing games, that argument is invalid.

But Vinny is the big number 1 center we have always yearned for

DD NHL's Third Star of the Week-Where Are the H8erz Now?
illWill replied to Lovett's Magnatones's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
It's not his fault he might be miscast as a first liner. My point was that he brings great value to the team for what he is getting paid. -
