  1. Lucky break on that post. How is Dadanov this bad? Like, how did he get a $5m contract being this bad??
  2. So the Habs have Drouin ($5.5m), Hoffman ($4.5m) and Dadonov ($5m) all not playing good enough to have a spot in the lineup. At least 2 of those deals are in their final year. If Hoffman can get going so at least he’s trade-able, that would be great.
  3. I haven’t kept up with the rule changes, but isn’t it a penalty for pulling the helmet off of a player? They have to goto the bench if they lose their helmet, so there must be a penalty associated with pulling the helmet off.
  4. Not sure if anyone else caught that, but on the Hoffman slashing penalty, Carlson threw his stick down. He wouldn’t of lost it from the slash alone, so he sold it. Should have been an embellishment call, but I wouldn’t expect a ref to catch it, I had to rewind it 3 times.
  5. I think mentally is the most important. Once he gets his groove and figures out what he can and cannot do at an NHL level, he can lean into his strengths and I still think he could be a solid stay at home defenseman. Maybe a second coming of Hal “skills” Gil.
  6. The virtual board ads got turned off during the PP because they were bugging out pretty bad.

  8. Save of the year candidate right there. EDIT: Not sure that would of went in anyway, but still looked nice.
  9. Just give me Caufield and Hoffman on the top of the circles on their strong side, Suzuki in the middle of the slot or on the boards, Dach in front of the net and whatever defenceman you want running it. Give me that PP, PLEASE!
  10. At this rate Allen will face 96 shots this game. Detroit has 16 shots in 10 minutes.
  11. Before this game starts I want to point out something the Habs are doing on the breakout that will burn them eventually, but until it does, it's brilliant. From the boards they are throwing a little bumper pass to the middle of the zone near the blue line when they feel pressure. It's great so far because it retains possession and there's always a forward coming up the middle of the ice. Soon someone is going to start throwing a forward down the middle of the ice to pick off that pass and get a great scoring chance. Until then, it's a great little breakout pass.
  12. To your point, back when Galchenyuk was in his rookie season I remember a statement made by the commentator, I forget who it was, of a game I was watching about Galchenyuk. Pacioretty was playing for Montreal then. The commentator said Montreal should do with Galchenyuk what they did to Pacioretty. Instead of playing him in the NHL and hope he develops, he should be sent down until he can dominate the AHL before he gets called up to the NHL full-time. That comment always stuck with me. It slows the path to the NHL, but gives players time to get comfortable at the level they should be playing, rather that the level the team needs them to be at right away.
  13. Everyone wants the lottery pick this year. I also think this is the first season in a very long time that the Habs have nothing to lose. Expectations all around are bottom 3 finish. Even another last place finish wouldn't be considered a failure, not taking in account the first overall pick. No pressure on the player to do anything other than keep their spot in the lineup and kids to develop.
  14. Hoffman I can easily see interest in. Dadonov will end the season a hab if he doesn’t get a lot better.
  15. If you want to get technical, it's only 2 periods in, so he's really on a 246 goal pace.
  16. Give me Hoffman in Suzuki's spot on the PP.... PLEASE!
  17. Game 1 on the road to 0-82. On a side note, does anyone else find it weird the Xhekaj is pronounced backwards? There's no way I'm the first to notice.
  18. Hopefully Dadanov. He looked so bad during the preseason. Drouin was invisible, Dadanov was only visible for bad things.
