  1. I heard Evans had a great game Thursday night. If he keeps playing well, do you really sit him? Or do you sit someone like Byron and have both Evans and Staal play by having 2 C's on the 4th line?
  2. That is currently up to 8 players and a member of staff, I’m assuming a coach.
  3. I missed most of the game, but I have a question. In the last little while Habs have less penalties called against, especially the last 2 games. Is it DD or just how games are being called or a result of the Tim Peel situation?
  4. McDavid got a $5k fine for his elbow on KK, Sportsnet is reporting.
  5. The Oilers announcers would not shut up in the final 6 minutes of the game about Price getting a shutout. Trying to jinx it in every way they could.
  6. Leks and Byron can use their speed to be a factor. I agree KK should shoot more, he does have one of the better shots on the team but rarely uses it.
  7. Looks like with the reschedule, Oilers will be in the back half of a back-to-back tomorrow. They are playing the Leafs tonight.
  8. Corrupt also means improper conduct, it doesn’t necessarily have to have to be bribery. The personal gain in this case could also be the power trip that he is the law. I wonder how things will change after this incident. Tim Peel is canned, but surely this isn’t the end of it.
  9. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tsn.ca/report-league-looking-into-hot-mic-in-nashville-predators-game-1.1612579%3Ftsn-amp Proof of how corrupt NHL officials are. Also exhibit A on why refs need to have accountability for their decision.
  10. Sounds like not only will last night’s game won’t be made up tonight, Wednesday’s game is still in question.
  11. Dreger reporting that this game could happen tonight if all contact tracing is done early enough. i would imagine it’s more in depth than just tracing.
  12. As a bright side to this, it gives DD some time to work with the rest of the team. Hopefully we will see a better team come out of this.
  13. Nothing on TSN or NHL.com reflecting this as of yet. So literally seconds after I hit post, I get a TSN notification that it has been postponed.
  14. They usually start on different lines and by the end of the 1st almost any game, they play on the same line for the rest of the game. The point of the story is oilers fans and media don’t believe they play on the same line:
  15. I have an ongoing bet with a guy at work on Oilers vs Habs games. I’m watching it until Oilers go up by 3.
  16. I just want to throw out something humorous that us Edmonton based Habs fans will understand a little more. There’s a common belief by the Edmonton sports media that McDavid and Draisatl play on 2 different lines. The game lineups don’t reflect that above, but the media here in Edmonton believe it. All of the Oilers fans here that I talk to believe it as well. Yet you go back to 75% of each of their points, and the other guy is assisting or scoring on that point, but when you point that out, they look at you weird and spew that same line again.
  17. I believe McDavid and Draisatl are going to shred our defence. The 3rd pairing isn’t good enough to consider containing them. The other 2 pairs, especially Weber and Edmundson, will get obliterated by their speed. I want to be an optimist about this series, so if the Habs can contain McDavid and Draisatl, and can score more than 2 goals, they have a good chance at winning.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised with a quiet deadline. Cap space is non-existant, so that would require the habs to be trading for an asset + cap space for the asset, which would cost even more. Bargain bin Bergevin won't dump a high pick or a good prospect just to gain cap space for an asset. Then again, I would imagine it's playoffs or fired for him so anything is possible.
  19. If the penalty was called Habs could of scored a PP goal. As I said, if the penalty got called and the habs still lost, we wouldn't be talking about this at all. You need to watch the OT again if you think that was Drouin causing interference, and if you still see Drouin is the only penalty, watch it again, keep watching it until you see what actually happened. Drouin strips Hughes of the puck behind the net, J.T. Miller hooks Drouin while he was trying to break out, no call, Hughes reaches over the top (you can see his arm reach over the top prior to this phantom interference call you are pushing) and grabs Drouin's shoulder, no call. I just rewatched the sequence multiple times. I do agree the play in OT is terrible, which it shouldn't be for a team built for speed. It should be their game to lose, but they don't capitalize on their chances and seem lost with and without the puck in OT.
  20. If the penalty is called as is should of been, the play would of never gone the other way giving Suzuki and Tatar a chance to be beat. If the PP happened, as it should of, and the same play unfolded, we wouldn't be here discussing this. You are mad that the Habs ####ed up. I am mad the refs ####ed up, TWICE. I can begrudgingly accept once, but it happened TWICE. I can 100% guarantee you that if the sweaters were reversed, the Habs would of been called for both of those.
  21. What you're saying is if someone gets in 8 car accidents it automatically makes the 9th their fault regardless of circumstances.
  22. I'm not sure why anyone is blaming the Habs for this OT loss. They played ok, Anderson got a breakaway, Drouin was breaking out to make it a 2-on-1, gets held, no call, Anderson misses, play goes back the other way and they get scored on. There's 2 refs watching 6 players, absolutely zero excuse why the Drouin call wasn't called. None. Twice tonight an obvious, blatant call gets overlooked, twice the puck ends up in the Habs net. It's a game like this that should be used as evidence why penalties should be added to reasons to review a goal.
  23. Another missed call, and another goal in our own net.
  24. That was bad as well, but it didn't end in a goal against. The hook on Anderson took away a grade-a scoring chance and ended up a goal the other way.
