  1. Sorry, trades were supposed to sound a bit goofy. i only meant, i am sure Bergevin could get a big #1 centre; however, it would cost an arm and leg.
  2. agree for sure, but stuff is a bit mind numbing
  3. http://twitpic.com/btnmzb Bennett getting knee taken out.
  4. Size thing overrated. There are as many + benefits of being both small/large and of course a mix on a team is best. e.g. Hall of fame inductees sizes this year, 5'11-185, 5'11-190, 5'10- 190 and Sundin You want big #1 centre; i am sure Bergevin could trade Subban for Joe Thorton, Getzlaf, or maybe Spezza, other than that a big #1 centre would likely even cost more. Price and Subban for Stamkos maybe?
  5. Pribyl doing much better this year in Czech men's league; only had 2 pts in 17 games last year, but has 11pts in 27 now. I assume he is likely to be in Hamilton this fall? Bozon got Kamloops only goal yesterday, while Eric Comrie stopped 34 of 35 Kamloops shots and was #1 star again.
  6. Sure, not saying he is super bad, but still more pompasness than anything else and am just glad he is not running the Habs. Sorry, got little respect for his hockey savvy and his need to be rantin in front of a camera as much as the other 29 GMs combined.
  7. It looked like he was in quite a bit of pain and seemed some 'Cruciate" injury of the Markov-type.
  8. Good one sir Drouin is likely the next Eberle-type player I would prefer drafting Drouin, but with a healthy roster and Price, even Gomer couldnt drag the Habs down to a top ten pick. Realistic choices will be of the mid 1st round, Shinkaruk-Mantha-Pulock-Morrissey quality, which are all super prospects also and having 3 2nd round picks aint too bad neither, so no crazy need to tank when already drafting 4 of top 60 kids to add to last years haul. William Carrier-Nick Petan- Eric Comrie would be in that 30-60 range and nice additions.
  9. 2 elite young players, Seguin and Hamilton + 2nd rounder currently in AHL and you are fooling yourself if you dont think Hamilton will be a top 4 d-man. He is 6'5" and the #1 scoring d-man in the OHL, He maybe a top 4 d-man as a friggin teenager. And what has Seguin done lately, led his NHL team in scoring as a 19/20 year old and just tore up the Swiss league with 20 goals in 20 games. I think i would take Bruins side in that deal.
  10. He won with a Duck team he inherited. Powerhouses normally win more than 1 round of playoffs, Naslund-Bertuzzi never saw a 3rd round! With Canucks Burke missed playoffs twice, lost 1st round 3 times, lost 2nd round once and Canucks missed playoffs again the year after he was punted; not quite a powerhouse record is it! Nonis may be an upgrade; but Pierre Gauthier would be also.
  11. Gauthier had 1 bad year and the media frensy was on. How Brainiac lasted this long, shitty year after shitty year, seemed odd? Also, why he was ever considered a good GM i still dont see it? Canucks surely dont miss him. As a Hab fan i am sorry to see him leave, he seemed a perfect fit for arrogance central. Now they just have to hire Doug McLean, MIlbury or McGuire to ensure our favourite gong show continues.
  12. You do realize how long ago Chelios was traded? I wasnt a Desjardins fan at all, even with his hat trick. Beachamin couldnt even play with leafs and was sort of lock-out waiver that maybe was unavoidable?cant really remember. Hainsey is an OK player, but closer to a flop as 13th pick. No arguement about McDonagh, but that was just a bad trade.
  13. 4 years-$21m to 6 years-$30m, somewhere in that ballpark seems fair for the most important skater on team.
  14. As an experianced vet, with a cup ring, Commodore seems like a perfect signing. Development of key assets is most important in AHL and with big Henry gone, need at least 1 vet on back-end, with all the rookies playing and Pateryn out, even if he has lost a step or 2 and will never be an NHLer again, kind of irrelevant.
  15. Hudon doing well and back injury must of been fairly minor? Archambault still doing OK, but highly doubt will even get a AHL offer, as a 3rd liner/PP specialist on a junior team. Bennett had a good game for Michigan, but that team looked bad and goalie just sucked (even Trouba looked bad, jet lag maybe??). Bennett got clipped by low hit and looked like a serious knee injury; hope not, as his skating is his best assett.
  16. Same as Habs last year; 0 for 4 on PP and killed off all 7 PKs (Tinordi is doing super on the PK). Nice to see Holland score again (on replay anyways), he should of had another tap-in on Gallagher set up. Mayer has not been the cause for many losses i have seen, maybe he has just improved? Good effort all round, Leblanc still snakebit though.
  17. You can slice it up as you like, but he will rush, cough puck up once in a while and boom a 2 on1 or breakaway. Or he will pinch when he shouldnt and get beat like a MAB clone and again, odd man rush-breakaway. But maybe he had been pressing due to shitty start of season and total lack of offense from forwards and now that forwards are scoring a bit more, he seems to be much improved (on paper anyways). But like Beaulieu's "relatively" poor backward skating, which he avoids doing like the plague (similar to Ryan Murphy, e.g. where he got beat by the big russian on winning goal, Beaulieu will be also get burned to the outside by pros, till his all round skating/defensive decision-making improves), all players have weaknesses and these are still just teenagers and lots of time to improve with some coaching/training. But Beaulieu is blessed with athleticism, high offensive "IQ" and puck skills and is still one exciting player to watch play.
  18. I have seen several Blade games this year and Dietz has earned his negative rating and would be worse if Makarov didnt bail him out. But again this year Dietz is playing big minutes and the coach seems to let him rush with puck and pinch, so you may have a point for sure. Sportsnet is showing their game this Friday vs Dumba's Red Deer team, 2 equally matched teams. I imagine Thrower and Dumba will both be doing their best Yemelin imitation in the hitting dept.
  19. I think it would be just asking way too much for him to be #1 or 2 centre, when he seemed to do super on the wing in Sarnia. He can be top 9 wingman and see how he handles that first. But we all know he is for sure an upgrade over Moan-Darche offensively/skillwise for top six or PP play. Jeff Skinner would be a good comparison, he was 7th on Carolina for ES ice time among the forwards in his rookie year, with 13+minutes; which would seem about right. On Eller's wing would seem a nice slot, but such a log-jam in the bottom six, he would have to take either Armstrong, Prust or Moan's slot.
  20. yes, Beauchamin was the guy i was thinking of and Hainsey wasnt anything to lose sleep over neither. And Weber just dosent seem to fit with Habs needs, but yes it would be nice to somehow get a pick for him.
  21. Cant think of many lost that way, 1 after last lock-out. All i am thinking, is with Diaz-Bouliion already basically locked in as #6 and #7 d-men, can the Habs afford to have up to 2 d-men sitting in pressbox? It is too bad Weber hadnt signed a 2 way deal, but by next fall he could be 10th on depth chart and Habs already went though on trade deadline without trading him, so i assume little interest?
  22. Who thought Collberg would be at camp? a bit unrealistic. Can Galchenyuk and Subban both fit under the cap? Will Weber be waived and pass through to play with Bulldogs?
  23. I thought Drouin showed he is one of most skilled kids around and the big russian would also be one i would take over Jones. MacKinnon wasnt given opportunity to shine, but still would push Jones to #4 for me. Darnell Nurse, could he be Chris Pronger II; whereas Jones is likely to be more a Rob Blake type?
  24. Gallagher is doing well. St Denis seems to be leading odd-man rushs everygame and looking better Leblanc is having a super shift or 2 every game where he looks like an NHLer, but still not producing yet.
  25. -18 really stands out when you see Thrower is at +12. There seem to be many offensive d-men in juniors who rack up the points (Ryan Murphy), but are just too much a defensive liability or lack the hockey IQ, to ever make the big league. But Dietz can skate, handle the puck, shoot and hit well, so who knows. Looks like Nygren has finally learned to play in own end at 22.
