  1. Plekanec & Eller good on faceoffs, Manny/DD had off-nights. Emelin with 6 hits and Beaulieu had 4 shots and stayed an even +/- in 16minutes. Weaver and Gilbert also had OK games. Pacioretty, Gallagher & Galchenyuk weren't terrible. And felt bad for Price, but no-show in 2nd half of game for most in front of him. Eller actually looked good in front of goalie screening/tipping shots; possibly he would help the PP, but they avoid giving him (or big bodied Bourque) even a second on the PP. Sooner or later got to toss out Gallant PP strategy. (Galchenyuk 0:04 on PP and Gallagher (best screener of all) got 0:00 on the PP) edit got my stats ass backward (was lookin at PK time)
  2. But when he puts his big boy (Wolverine) pants on; he can kick ass and shove players off the puck and create scoring chances for himself
  3. Paying Galchenyuk & Gallagher only $1.7m/yr combined, is a good deal and are earning their wages.
  4. Subban is 70th in scoring after a dozen games, long season yet. He will get his 45-60 points and be a 1st star for numerous games, or pretty safe bet he will be anyways.
  5. He may be in a point drought but Gallagher is giving an effort,
  6. LOve Galchenyuk simply tossing his body into hits and really rocking some Hawks. Now if Eller can start hitting again would be nice to see.
  7. Yes good period Unlucky to not score one. Max took Bournival shift-time and I am OK with that
  8. No big deal, he is an unproven player who cant crack lineup and maybe Hudon-Andrighetto-Thomas-Bournival are all better players anyways?
  9. Last year I heard couldnt keep winning becasue no possession, but was total BS and then no way could come back in series and beat Big Bad Bruins, which also was BS. A win is fine by me, seemingly lucky or not, who really cares in the end. Is an injury to key player due to luck? then Rangers were lucky it wasnt thier goalie who got ran over and knocked out of series, no?
  10. I say Kudos to the goalie who knows the rules well and a shootout is easier than 2 on 0. Quick thinking or not first time he has done it?
  11. Whoooo! putting cart before horse there Sparky. Don't get too excited because of 2 weeks of good play vs pimple-faced teenagers. But, yes is nice start to season and encouraging.
  12. Is a game alright, not sure big or tiny, likely depending on personal outlook. I say is one of 82 and still need another 80-85points to get to the real season. But, if win, I know we will hear "shouldn't of won, were outplayed" or "only won because of Price" and if lose will be "see I told ya, they suck"
  13. And no pressure on top six of Pitt/Ducks/LA/Hawks? Sorry dont buy that argument.
  14. ..now 'some' are upset, not all. Coaches come and go and bout only one (vet coach) i can think of to have never been fired at least once and his career record not shabby.
  15. Eh!! All I had to do was hope for more offense and look what happens! And a PP goal to boot, get the frickin game footage to Therrien qucikly!
  16. holy crap, is one early game and maybe a different Dog team has showd up for home fans? Hope they pile it on with lots of offense for the kiddies.
  17. For those so concerned with Habs bottom six and want 3rd line traded/upgraded, don't feel too bad could be worse; Hawks 3rd line 9points, Habs 3rd line 10points.
  18. And exactly whose 3rd line should Habs emulate? Structural problem eh? Most teams players playing that role are not contributing much offensively. I know grass is greener if cold just jettison 3rd line for some other 3rd liners, but good luck arranging a big improvement (and playing Sekac may be improvement or not, but is more armchair GM knee jerk reaction). Are Eller/Bourque holding back the PP? Failing to score (when the forwards playing big minutes/$ are doing likewise and top forward is tied for 47th in scoring)? Are they terrible defensively, too slow, too small? Again you are too concerned with wrong part of lineup, look higher up food chain at top 6 forwards.
  19. Sorry, illuminate it some more? However; I agree Sekac should be playing....but in Hamilton (where I said he should of been right from the start).
  20. Why one player or another isn't in lineup, might not be as simple as most fans assume. You know; Dudley-Mellanby-LaPointe-Bergevin-Lacarriere-le Genius see these guys day in and out, in the gym, at practice all the time and likely have a bit better idea who might be best to play. And I highly doubt they play Moan instead of Sekac/Bournival if they think a youngster would make a difference. The only thing I wonder is why not send one or both to AHL and call up a Dumont (or the like) to sit in pressbox till injury, or someone craps the bed, or Sekac-Bournival light-up AHL and help fill the net there?
