  1. Fair points, I went and re-read the articles I referred to and yes Lekkerimaki is a stretch. For VAN, Savard for Mikheyev would be a better trade, it MTL is in the trading list for Mikheyev. To make it more palatable for MTL, I would want one of Raty or Hoglander coming back. So: To MTL: Mikheyev ($4.75M/to2026) Raty ($0.837M/to2025) or Hoglander ($1.1M/to3025) = $5,58M to $5.85M To VAN: Savard ( $3.5M/to2025) + Anderson (50% =$2.75M/to2027) = 6.25M and again, they can send Bains down to fit Anderson under the cap. Here is the current VAN forward group, in yellow are the players that in the Athletic they mentioned that they would want to keep, with red lines the ones that they may want to move if the offers is good to them:
  2. I would be surprised Anderson rebounds under MSL. I doubt that happens
  3. was it @Sir_Boagalott that was proposing Pezzetta to VAN? I that door is open, for a robust winger that can play minutes, then I tried to open it and see if there could be a trade. I think that Anderson at a lower cap hit would be just fine in any cup contending’s 3rd line.
  4. yeah, I just got it. Sorry about that. I tend to zip in/out of the forum when I am taking a break from work and I don't always get things righ a way. Enjoy your trip! I hope you have a great time
  5. Myers, he is a pending UFA at $6M. Reportedly being played a lot lately but did not have a good start to the season and was being played less. Ian Cole is another option, but his cap hit is only $3M. Anderson at 50% cap-hit could be an option there but I am not sure I like that deal for Montreal (cap hit for the 3 years and prorated this year, right?): To MTL: Ian Cole ($3M/pending UFA) Jonathan Lekkerimäki To VAN: Josh Anderson (50% $5.5m/2027), Jordan Harris (50% 1.4M/2025) = $3.45M/cap-hit VAN can send Arshdeep Bains down to make room under the cap and put Anderson in that spot.
  6. Hello fellow Ottawan! I am not sure I remember correctly, but sometimes they bus in/out of Ottawa. Or take the train in/out with buses to Kanata from the Via rail station. I know they have skated at the university of Ottawa before, but I do not know if they have done that recently. I think most teams stay in a hotel in Kanata. I've seen some NHL players around the Kanata Centrum shopping centers or the Baton Rouge restaurant near the CTC Good luck!
  7. I did not look at it beyond this season. They can manage assets at the draft or this summer. This move would help them in the short term, until Soucy is back and at a lower cap hit with Harris. I believe Soucy will be back for the playoffs, if I read the reports correctly. He seems to be a LD they trust in their back end. I know that Anderson has done very poorly this season, but I sincerely believe he would do better in the playoffs for another team.
  8. he was in the list from the Atheltic as available under the right circumstances. In most recent (1 month or less) publications he is not listed as untouchable. So, yes. It all depends on whether it is true that a bruising winger with Stanley cup experience is viewed as a need for VAN. Harris on D would help them too, on a deep cup run. He is a very good depth LD that can play RD. He is also young enough to be part of their team for a while. Anderson and Harris are not rentals, which is a type of player they have said they do not want. It is unlikely to happen, but it is probable with low probability.
  9. How about this trade (after checking the Athletic, https://theathletic.com/5237436/2024/01/30/canucks-2024-nhl-trade-deadline-tiers/, and other sources) To MTL: Tyler Myers (if MTL in his NTC trade list, $6M/pending UFA) Jonathan Lekkerimäki To VAN: Josh Anderson ($5.5m/2027), Jordan Harris (50% 1.4M/2025) = $6.2M/cap-hit VAN can send Arshdeep Bains down to make room under the cap and put Anderson in that spot. It gives them an SOB winger that performs well in the playoffs and would welcome a change of scenery. Harris gives them depth at the blueline and an option until Carson Soucy returns. MTL: gets rid of Anderson's contract, gets a veteran defenseman that may allow a D prospect to go to LVL and gain more experience/development, it also clears the LD logjam for next season. This trade gets them a very good forward prospect than may be knocking on the NHL door in 1-2 years time, he as drafted 15th overall in 2022.
  10. I know , the reality of getting 1st overall is what it is, but I want some insanity and ungrounded fun in my fandom. At least today.
  11. if HughGort plan is to build a team that can compete in the mid-term (3-4 years) then a 20+ first rounder this year is preferable to something next year. This year, at the draft, picks can be bundled to trade higher or packaged with players on boat anchor contracts. I am hoping the Habs can be a bubble team next year and fight their way into the playoffs. If healthy, given how key prospects have developed, they should be able to do that. For that reason, I would like the bulk of drafting for the rebuild to be done sooner than later
  12. it is so obvious , it hurts my eyes ! Good point!
  13. “Take a pill for Celebrini” may become à propos!
  14. Time for: bottom finish for Celebrini! All the way, baby!
  15. A follow up to the White waivers pickup. This is the type of move I was hoping they make. Now, I hope they move Pearson out sooner than later to give Armia, Ylonen and Anderson more ice time to get the best return for them in a trade.
  16. I am glad Gignac is in Laval for a playoff push. The RDS commentators today were mentioning how JF Houle likes to give any player demoted from MTL a few days to work out their feelings after being demoted, In commenting how flat the team looked today, they said that Gignac looking flat was understandable, but not Barron, Condotta and Stephen's lack of drive. They should have played better. Here is the quote from the rumor reported by Norman Flynn about how deserving Gignac was of an NHL contract. Just to share on how LVL has enough pieces up-front to compete. Their back-end is not great
  17. two embarrassing loses to TOR, when they had two consecutive sold-out crowds at home. The RDS streaming commentators where talking about the vibe in Laval, how Barron and Gignac are still showing their disappointment from being sent to Laval. With the White pick from waivers, the Rocket forwards know that they are not going up to Montreal any time soon. I hope the coaches get them back on track to make it at least interesting for the next month or so. Quite a few LVL players are on expiring contracts:
  18. Maillet scored with less than a minute left in the 2nd. Nice play by Mysak to create the 3-on-1
  19. well now everyone is getting penalized! What a frack-fest
  20. Dobes stops a penalty shot, that TOR got while LVL was on the pp.
  21. yes, not unexpected, it is the AHL after all and the players being undisciplined (not the ones getting the penalties) have AHL contracts.
  22. turnover in the middle of the ice leading to a clean shot from the left faceoff circle beatc Kaskisuo. 22-7 shots for TOR. Kaz is replaced by Dobes. 4-0 Marlies and I am underwhelmed by today's lack of combativity by the Rocket. Yesterday and today, they have played from the perimeter.
  23. indiscipline to start the 2nd. Players looking more to "settle scores" after yesterday's game than actually scoring goals! 2 quick goals PP for TOR and it is 3-0
