  1. I would trade signing rights on Hyman for those of Armia and a conditional 3rd round pick He would be expensive but the Habs have room with all their LTIRs
  2. same was said for Markov after his _ SECOND _ knee operation, right? I will be ok if Weber is on LTIR for a year and a half but comes back rested and good enought for bottom pair shutdown minutes. The salary cap hit will be high, but saving two years of that cap hit will even out things.
  3. not true, Selke nominees that can score 45-50 points and win over 55% of their faceoffs are not common
  4. ok, was looking at the selke list for an idea. I don't care to remember much about where TOR players play...
  5. Hyman is also an UFA, he has better offence stats tha danault but is not as good on the Face Off dot (as far as I cold tell) is Hyman an option for the Habs?
  6. I'll try again giving a number. A shutdown center may be worth worth additional $750,000 (league minimum) to his salary. If a 20g 30a forward makes $4M-4.5M a year, a shutdown center would make $4.750M to $5.25M, wouldn't he? Danault's last contract was for an AAV $3.25M and he produces 45-50 points on an 82g season while also being an elite shutdonw center Hayes, Pageau, Kadri, Henrique, Backlund, etc.
  7. How valuable are cave off wins ? at least $0.7 M a year ( league minimum) right ?
  8. $5M x 4 years front loaded just to keep the Price-Petry window open and de-risking KKs development
  9. Buffalo is a mess, like a wounded prey it is hard to predict how they may react to an offer
  10. That is nuts on a flat cap time good for him I wish Brook and Fleury were an option. If the Habs approach the season as a development opportunity that would be my preferred choice: to play the kids
  11. I was trying to figure out the Habs projected Cap to see who they may target, and cannot figure out without guessing correctly who they may add to take on Weber's spot in the lineup. what are the better stop-gap RDs available to play second pairing RD while Weber is on LTIR? Hamilton at 6M ? Barrie at $5.5M ? Romanov or Kulak? Ouellet? Merrill or Gustafsson? other? the list of UFAs that have recently played over 16 TOI is slim:
  12. To your point on salary cap available. It gives MB extra leverage to take on “bad contracts” or UFAs... using cap room to get trade advantage
  13. I was trying to figure out any potential draft pick trades to move up or down. Checked LWOS, DraftAnalisys, TheAthletic, SportsNet, TSN, etc very divergent opinions beyond the top 15 with the Habs picking late, there is no consensus on what they may be picking I will be a very interesting off-season looking forward to the discussions o. This forum
  14. With Drouin and Weber on LTIR and Danault testing the UFA market, it is becoming feel less and less likely they go on a deep Stanley Cup run in 2022 I can't wait for next week to see how they attack the situation
  15. if Seattle takes an UFA from a team, for example Merrill, doesn't that count as the choice from that team?
  16. I do not know if this will work for defensemen, but let's try. I looked at the list of defensemen that will probably * _ NOT _ * be protected by their teams and tried to compare them to the Habs defensement that may be available. Seattle needs to take at least nine (9). (ordered by expected goals-for percentage (xGF%) Hamilton, Barrie, Toews, Forsling, Holl, Cernak, Oleksiak, Dunn, Skjei, Fabro, Kulikov, Mayfield, Montour, Savard, Fortbort, Poolman, Larsson Or Brett Kulak, Cale Fleury ?
  17. if that is the case, that is good to hear and a reason to be optimistic that he can be LTIR'ed and can comeback in the future to the Habs
  18. nobody knows, he could have cancer or a brain tumor (hope he doesn't) no one is talking and that is how Drouin and the Habs want to handle this
  19. I kept saying Weber would be exposed on the expansion draft, but not for this reason. Drouin and Weber on LTIR ... coincidence ? 🤔 or a well crafted plan ? 😈
  20. Thanks for the answers. If they can keep their cap room for a couple of good Ds and the best forwards available, they can go with cheaper options on goal than Allen
