  1. he tend to shoot a lot and has better success than Mete had He is an established NHLer, than can play lots of minutes but needs to play with a good RD Not a top-4 fot a fill-in for Chiarot until the playoffs
  2. MB kept his prospects and high draft picks. Added depth that will need to clear COVID protocol before playing and be available to play a bit before Chiarot is ready to play. It does not move the needle in the short term, but it seems the gamble is to have: Edmudson-Petry Chiarot-Weber Merryl-Romanov Gustaffson (that may come fill-in for an injuredtop-4 LD if needed)
  3. an NHLer that can play lots of minutes and shots a lot and can hold hte 4th D spot on the 2nd pair with Weber until Chiarot comes back Edmundson-Petry will play 1st pair minutes Merryl will pickup the PK minutes from Guftasson So, yeah. 😶
  4. I share the same opinion on Mete Merill seems like a perfect 3rd pair LD for the Habs. Will be a good player to have for Brook and/or Fleury when they come up
  5. when I was writing that, I thought the same as you. But the team already has 13 picks for this year and 8 next. If we can get high picks in 2022, that would be a better return IMHO
  6. this year is not the year to be loading up on draft picks. It is worse than ever without scouting. Eligible players have hardly played and I am guessing that beyond the 1st round, there will be lots of disappointing picks I do not want the Habs to load up on 20+ picks past the first round and hope they can hit some homeruns.
  7. yeah, I know... 🙄 I am guessing that away from Montreal he would do better
  8. I agree on all of these except for Danault. I would trade them all and package with out 2021 first round pick and an average prospect for a top 4 LD, but who would trade their top-4 LD for our junk ?
  9. but with the firing of the coaches and the signing of Stall, he seems to be more invested in winning now; he may be motivated to make a trade today on one side, I hope he does because it would be great to see Weber, Price, Petry and to a lesser degree Perry, Staal and Edmundson, win a cup in Montreal. on the other side, I think it is smarter to roll the dice with the current club but to trade upcoming UFAs and load on picks in 2022 (after this year). the draft this year is too risky to bet on players who have hardly played.
  10. updating this trade proposal for Lindell instead of Oleksiak To Montreal: Lindell (left-D, #5.8M/5yr) to play with Weber and To Dallas: 1st draft pick in 2021, Tampa's 2nd draft pick 2021, Drouin ($5.5M/3yr) to clear cap room and give Dallas some more Scoring a depth D like Mete after he clears or Oulett, Olofsson could be added Note that Lindell’s NMC starts next year 50 pints Drouin and mid-career should do well away from the Montreal media
  11. I am also more on the side of not trading prospects for has beens when Chiarot and Gallagher are back and Price is back on a groove : I think we will be primed for some Playoff heroics heroics because it will be unexpected
  12. Thanks for sharing Hoping Scherback doesn’t suffer facial nerve trauma like Julien who is still out
  13. I wish Seattle would wash the Bell Center windows and clear the snow it they take Byron or Ouellet
  14. I doubt it, if he clears waivers he has to either be sent to Laval or traded as a depth defenseman in another team that has no cap room
  15. There goes my theory of trading for a depth LD I am happy with this acquisition. And so hope Mete clears and glad to another team to be in their taxi squad
  16. I think the way Leskinen played yesterday prompted this If he clears, he’ll replace Leskinen in Laval and get better. If not, it will be a sign that MB has respected Mete’s wish to be traded to play more I hope the Habs fo not make the mistake of rushing other prospects to the NHL
  17. I am fed up with the Weber bashing. If you watched RDS the game before last, after the 1st period he (Guy Boucher) provided this analysis: 1. Biggest change by Dom is that D is not playing up but back; the third forward is now responsible to cover middle of ice and trailer on plays. 2. D are not aggressively defending anymore and are not using stretch pass to exit D zone Rhe impact is that we play better against teams like Toronto but worse agains teams like Winnipeg Also, most goals are caused because third man (Forward) is missing defensive coverage It sounded right when he showed video examples of the difference. He also showed his Weber and Edmundson are still playing very well but get exposed when the third man missed its assignment Anyways, I am no expert but that analysis reminded me that made me rethink my expectations of the team and reassess what I watch for during the games
