  1. Moving here from general thread Off the top of Mr. Potato's head: 1. Petry and Domi ($5.5M + $4M?$4.5M = $9.5M-to-$10M) to TO for Kapanen, Kerfoot and Nylander ($3.2M + $3.5M + $6.9M = $13.6M) and their 2020 1st round pick (if not Lafreniere) or Petry, Domi, Habs 1st and 2x Habs 2nd to TO for Kapanen, Nylander ($10.1M) and their 2020 1st round pick (if Lafreniere)
  2. I stand corrected, obviously I did not check his stats. Just posting off the top of Mr. potato's head
  3. A edited my proposal, switching Lehtonen for Nylander to match cap space. Nylander is a great middle-6 winger that could play top line for the Habs and matches in value to what Petry brings. Petry makes TOR better. Kapanen provides as a winger what we are expecting from Domi. Domi makes TOR better Kerfoot would offset the value going to TOR and the 1st round pick provide the Habs top talent to improve its core down the road.
  4. Off the top of Mr. Potato's head: Petry and Domi to TO for Kapanen, Kerfoot and Nylander and their 2020 1st round pick (if not Lafreniere) or Petry, Domi, Habs 1st and 2x Habs 2nd to TO for Kapanen, Nylander and their 2020 1st round pick (if Lafreniere)
  5. Alain Vigneault is my favourite recent past coach. I like his teams, and Michel Terrien gets results despite being a flawed person CJ doesn’t have the players that fit his style, but seems to be getting the most out most of the team advantage PHI
  6. those 5, did they win the cup less than three years after being drafted? THAT to me is where taking falls apart as a strategy for the Habs even if it was executed perfectly
  7. wouldn't your points support the view on why building by tanking does not work ?
  8. This forum was less patient with Pacioretty. If Domi wants to play center in the top 2 lines he has to show he can carry his line on his back? Dosen't he? Show he can outplay the other team's 4th line
  9. I am sour on Domi, I'll pay more attention next game. It is hard for me to enjoy him poke checking and skating in circles without driving to the net with the puck. Seems to me the puck dies on his stick
  10. 1. If you are tanking, you would want to lose against other teams that are taking so that they do not get a higher pick than you. 2. Taking bad contracts takes away contract spots for the handful of prospects and core players you want to build around 3. Taking sucks the life away from you team and makes free agents stay away from your loosing culture Consecutive draft years do not yield quality draft picks. You need to also pick which years to tank and which years when not to tank because some years it is just not worth it This is an opinion and not a hard fact, specially for goaltenders. 17 year old goaltenders are so far from the NHL that drafting them high and hoping to build on that expectation is not a sound plan. And Defenders out of the top 10 are hit and miss I wanted the Habs to try to get Lafreniere, even suggested a few months ago to package draft picks and prospects just to be reminded that those trades are just not made: no team has traded a first overall pick (I have not checked, but I think it is true) If is not ideal for the Habs future in 4-5 years to have won a spot in the series this year and to lose a 12.5% at Lafreniere. But as Eichel, McDavid and Draisaitl have shown this year: Lafreniere will not make the Habs a cup contender during Price's and Weber's cup window.
  11. He is not driving the play, and unlike last year he is not making it hard to play against him. It is like he does just enough but does not elevate his game.
  12. Measured tanking, seems like game fixing or throwing games on purpose against specific teams to affect drafting positioning
  13. Ok then: explain it. What is this proper understanding you have
  14. Desjardin and Leclair i agree, although we are missing production from the bottom line unless Domi stops pouting
  15. I was thinking the opposite. I don’t think the Ha s small players will do well agains TB’s big defensemen Phily looks great, but we can match them
  16. Those would be pretty fancy third graders using that language, not the ones I’ve seen around here 🙃
  17. If Domi moves to the wing, wouldn’t it be to play top 9?
  18. To be honest. I am more concerned of getting late second round picks than the late first round pick. Usually, that is where TT has been successful that being said, I am really happy with making the playoffs and having hope of a solid D crew next season
  19. Either Max plays were he is needed, or he is gone. No room for primadonas
  20. Lehkonen is playing well ... as a 4th liner energy guy (he just doesn’t score) our new Begin
