  1. I agree with xXx..CK..xXx that "getting rid of Pacioretty vs. "managing the asset value of" Pacioretty are two different things. I also see Zadina as a future replacement for #67, but it will take time and it is not an absolute necessity to move out Pacioretty before Zadina has played a minimum number of meaningful games at the NHL level. My $0.02 worth...
  2. I don't liked that gorilla. We already have Reichel and McCarron at a cheaper cap hit
  3. That looks pretty good, none further than 128th I hope they draft all of their picks
  4. I see Zadina as replacement for Pacioretty in one to two years. He would need a 1st line center the same way #67 does Keeping the 3rd overall pick allows the CH to trade for a center. Oterwise, they should trade down and keep Patches
  5. Shaw is an excellent but overpaid 4th liner that whenever paired with Byron's cheaper contract kind of balances out. He can be put on other lines for short stints and will not be a liability. If Gahllager gets injured, he can step up in that role I like what he brings when healthy and the two 2nd round picks traded for him are lost Alzner is a cap problem. He should do well on less minutes with Petry now that Weber is back
  6. I agree that Hudon is not a realistic solution, and I am ok with Drouin centering the second line. But unless the CH acquires a dominant 1C we are stuck with the 3rd line center filling in and DLR Bergevin struck out on getting or developing a first line center. Agreed, but the arganizatuonbhas been trying g to do with what it has in the system
  7. Galchenyuk and Poehling were drafted as centers. Poehling seems to have top 6 (2C?) potential. They traded for Danault who can be a good 2C. I think they turned Hudon into a center (AHL?) and that he did well, but they have't tried him at C in the NHL. Maybe he could be a Desharnais-type (2C?) but that is stretching it. I don't know the projected ceiling for Evans, but he looked good in the NCAA. They have tried, but failed in developing centers.
  8. Probably I missed it. I PVR'ed it and watched it after midnight
  9. Sclemko or Moravcik? Moravcik or Schlemko? that is the question ...
  10. I watched some of the games, Fleury looked good. Sam Steel was awesome, I which we could get him for Pacioretty I didn't know anyone on Acadie-Bathurst team besides Dobson (he didn't impress me in the final)
  11. Busts or late bloomers? Any news on Koberstein, Staum and Henrikson?
  12. From the little that I saw him play, he seemed to have decent potential. Is he close in joining Laval?
  13. I didn't know that about their GM. No wonder they have sucked for so long
  14. Same here but I would swap picks and only if we can package one of our bad contracts and get a prospect back with the lower draft pick (Wahlstron, Hughes, ...)
  15. They may want to trade up for a chance at Tkachuk if they believe he would be gone at the 5th spot. Or they may want Zadina who is the better of the 3-9 (couldn't find what you wrote?) draft picks this year. Alzner is a top 4 isn't he
  16. This is my question more than a proposal: how much potential does Chychrun have? And is he injury prone ? I would love if if the CH traded its 3rd overall draft pick and Alzner to Arizona for their 5th overall and Chychrun I would not retain salary, because we will probably need the cap space, but I would add one of the 2nd round draft picks if needed
  17. That's what I keep hoping for i just wish we could package him to another club for a better and cheaper LD
  18. Un this context, signing Pacioretty at $7M annual cap hit but front heavily loaded would be fine with me. But expensive contracts like Alzner and Shaw would need to move to improve the roster (e.g J.Tavares)
  19. I am fine trading Pacioretty but it we need to get a quality NHLer in return: center or LD plus other pieces
  20. At that return, I would only trade Patches if we are sure Tavares is not signing with the CH. draft picks one or two years away from being quality NHL-ers doesn't align with what the team needs.
  21. Thanks Trizzak, I like getting your updates
  22. I am suggesting to retain cap for Alzner so that we can move him for a prospect that could become a better fit with the CH down the road. I still think that Patches for Strome is doable since they could move RNH back to center without loosing too much punch. But you are right that it may be too much to ask for Klefbom . What about asking for Caleb Jones (or William Lagesson) instead? That would be: Jones (LD) R. Strome (C) and their 10th overall. We could send another defense than Alzner but they seem to have a deeper D-depth than the CH.
  23. I know I've been laughed at already for some of my suggestions. But here I go again . Trying to get it right. Despite not wanting to trade Patches, I understand that the CH needs to manage that asset for the good of the club; as we did with Pleks. In return I have looked for a LD and a Center that have a potential to be 2C for the CH. I've looked at teams that may benefit from a cheap 30g LW and a slowish established bottom 4 LD (with the CH retaining part of the cap). So, here are four potential trades involving Pacioretty and Alzner: 1) Edmonton: 2018 10th overall, Klefbom(LD) and R.Strome(C) 2) Dallas: 2018 13 overall, Heatherington(LD), Shore(C) 3) Anaheim: 2018 23 overall, Larsson (LD), Nattinen (C) 4) Los Angeles: 2018 20 overall, Clague (LD), Anders-Dolan (C) With the draft pick the CH could get the best D available. It does not solve out 1C problem, but it should get us closer to fixing the CH LD problems.
