  1. I wonder if they can call up Jakov Novak from Trois-Rivières. He is their top scorer, seems to be a shot first type of winger and to have size. I do not know about his skating. I may be a better option than Perreault or Durandeau, neither of which have helped generate offense
  2. missed opportunities in the power plays. I didn't watch the 3rd period, but in the two first periods they were competing, and Dobes was giving them a chance to win.
  3. I though they would have a better season this year, and if that progress had continued I had placed in the playoffs next year. So yes, I think they should be a bubble team next year. If they exorcise the injuries curse that hovers over their heads
  4. isn’t that the Hab’s pick? Or did we get their Boston pick? I haven’t checked …
  5. I am sure that with the innovation in knee re-build/care now Koivu would be as good at Suzuki is turning out to be. Long health and many ppg season to the captain.
  6. you are both right. I am still ticked off though
  7. I am just ticked off.... not a happy toasty potato at this moment
  8. They are where they deserve to be in the standings. Kaskisuo was not good on that game, letting in two softies. I guess the Habs management is right to dismiss Laval as a development asset for their best prospects. NHL or bust, is the model !!! I am disappointed but not out of hope for their chances, this play-in race is the only thing keeping interested in the Habs right now.
  9. He did not d so well with Barron, Heineman and Smiliac. lets hope the draft picks all turn out to be as good as Slafkovsky
  10. I am so much more invested in the Rocket games right now that all I hope is that Xhekaj, Guhle, Harris, Struble and even Kovacevic continue their progress. Win or loose, development is what matters this season for the D. Forwards, I am happy with how well the young are doing. Suzuki, Slasfkovsky, Caufileld, Newhook. Armia, Gallagher, Anderson can coast till the end of the season for all I care as long as they play well enough to offload some minutes from the top line and prevent any injuries. Go Habs! Go!
  11. Not having Roy and the slump Heineman is having has affected their offense. Yesterday, they hit a couple of posts and missed the net either on missed shots or deviations by the Senators Ds. Perreault seems to be doing better, generating a bit more offense, but Heineman is playing as bad as Armia or Anderson when they are not generating much for the Habs. Maillet, Andersson and Gignac are playing well but the Rocket is missing finishers
  12. Trudeau is too slow to be a 6/7 D. And he is not physical to play a shut down or even to box out opponents. When he is playing well in Laval, he is generating offense. IMHO he is an emergency call-up, depth D. At least from the games I've watched.
  13. I do not think he will make it to the NHL, he doesn't have a shot to be a winger and he does not have the the size to be a center. But his hands and vision makes him a fringe NHLer
  14. 5th place in the north division, but 2 games more than others
  15. I just finished watching the game, they hung on for the win but it could have gone to the Sens if Dobes had not played so well. The play-by-play guys were praising Farrel's game, he did not stand out to me but maybe I do not appreciate his style that much. He had some flashes making some excellent passes, but he was quiet otherwise. Stephens played great on defensive assignments. Norlinder-Barron was not as disastrous as I thought it may be. They played well. Trudeau was obviously energized by the sell out crowd. He seems to be that type of players that raises to the bigger games. Paquestte-Bisson and Reinbacher were just amazing shutting down the other team whenever they were on the ice. Let's hope they continue playing well, and that they come into the playoffs on a hot streak
  16. 1-0 after 2 periods. Perreault scores his 8th of the season and stops a long drought. Barron continues to play well (as per play-by-play guy). IMHO he looks more at ease on the ice and is not forcing plays anymore. The Rocket is taking too many unnecessary penalties, but Dobes has been strong
  17. This is good news for Habs fans. The Rockets's play by play is in french on AHL.tv but you may be able to listen to the TSN690 broadcast (if they are broadcasting) and get the video feed from the AHL.tv
  18. that is what I wish for Josh too. When MB traded for him, many said that he had never been a top-6 and that he would not be a solution long-term. The contract was not a good move. He is the type of player than in the series, if he gets hot, he can be a back breaker; but he has never been consistent enough to get you into the playoffs === I am so glad the season is almost over
  19. He was injury to start ths season, day-to-day with a wrist injury. Then Nov 15 to Dec 14 he was out with an upper boddy injury. He was hurt again from Jan 17 to Feb 10 and missed a couple of days mid-March. IN March, once he was healthy he improved, to the point when some on this board were commenting that maybe the Habs should offer him a PTO or a minimum salary contract. I made the point at that time that the organization and him were walk away at the end of his contract. I think I even posted comments from journalists saying something similar. I know there was chatter about it. I am happy for him in COL, I wish him well.
