  1. gosh, holy guacamole, snap, crackle and pop! These are the times when I miss the dumpster dive trades MB used to pull to get a bottom 4C to fill-in for a while... Hugh-Gort doesn't trade the same way.
  2. Droin (if healthy), Armia, Dadonov, Hoffman, even Anderson are 3rd liners that would provide secondary offensive production if matched with the right linemates. Cap space and context are key to find the right trading partner. Matheson is not going anywhere, he was trumpeted by Hugh-Gort as a great addition and I doubt they trade him at all. Edmundson is the more likely LD to be moved, because of style of play and redundant role with the Habs (Guhle, Xhekaj)
  3. I was thinking about the quality of opposition metric for the Habs but didn't post on it because I didn't want to be viewed as the negative voice again. But I could not ignore this article: Last week before the game against LAK, the Strength of Opposition (on this chart) was lower (easier) I have highlighted bubble playoff teams that have had a more favorable calendar so far and that may be good trading partners for the Habs.
  4. I would bring up Belzile over Richard. If I am not mistaken, Richard has played mostly on the wing and I am not sure he can play effectively on an NHL 4th line. Suzuki Dvorak Evans Belzile
  5. 6 months and 17 days to go to draft good results, boring Habs game Monahan is missed the team better. Savard shot blocking is missed Go, Habs Go!!!
  6. Edmundson , like Chiarot, is a role player: he fits a specific role for teams and sucks in other contexts Habs are not a fit anymore, like Carolina (?) wasn’t anymore at the end of his stay there
  7. What about Ryan O’Reilly in BUF Wasn’t that a good deal both ways for the Sabres?
  8. I could not find anything newer from you on Lavoie, you usually have strong opinions on prospects... I tried taking your thought into consideration
  9. Edmundson has reverted to how he played in CAR, the player you were skeptical about when MB signed him. I though at the time that he would complement Petry well, and since Petry left, he has not been any good. EDM would be a good fit
  10. https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2019/04/13/raphael-lavoie-scouting-report/ "Perhaps the most difficult prospect in the Oilers’ system to get a read on is Raphael Lavoie." https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/335712/raphael-lavoie Make or Break year? https://theathletic.com/3523341/2022/08/20/edmonton-oilers-raphael-lavoie-prospect/ ========== I say, with the Habs skills and development staff, he could do very well.. Dach-like
  11. Evans may be one body check away from concussion LTIR and has zero offensive production. He would fit on a team like Edmonton that has lots of top-line fire power. Giving EDM better defensive players within their cap room is worth the risk if the Habs get Lavoie
  12. How about: To Edmonton: Edmundson ($3.5M until 2024) Evans ($1.7M until 2025 =$4.2M To Montreal: Puljujarvi ($3.0M until 2023) Ryan ($1.25M until 2023) for Money in/Money out Raphael Lavoie =$4.25M Habs get a very good prospect, Edmonton gets a rugged stay at home D that performs well in the playoffs and a good PK specialist with very good FO%
  13. Indont understand how you are referring to the stats, I would like to understand. can you please explain a bit more
  14. I am like you @Sir_Boagalott, I do not remember the exact date. I was at the beginning of my engineering undergrad. I remember it was the end of the semester and that I it made me sick to my stomach, specially when one of the reporters (TVA?) filmed the cafeteria through a window live. I could not believe it! I was not at Polytechnique, so it did not affect me as much. But the next semester we got a few teachers and students transfer and hearing how they felt made me really sad. It is still a sad fealing every year in early December
  15. Price apologized the next day, wrote he didn’t know about the promo and contradicted the Habs PR by saying he knew of the anniversary. He apologized to anyone hurt by his post but snarked at the government for choosing the timing of the amendment
  16. Allen played well, and shot my prediction down the drain. Good for him and for the team. Pezzetta looked intensely from the bench when Caufield scored, that has to count for something 🤪 expected, expectation above minutes played (xXaMp) was sky high
  17. Allen is back on net and Monahan is not on the lineup to make those on his line look better. Habs will loose this one, not sure I'll stay up to watch this one. I hope the 4th line has a good game. I am rooting for Evans to get another point and for Pezzetta to be effective on the fore-check. 🙏 Please, no more injuries to pending UFAs 🙏
  18. funny how perception varies between individuals: Translation: "Kovacevic played 22:49 but the 13 goals were scored during the 37:24 where he was not on the ice"
  19. the one thing with statistics is that 15 (shifts per game) samples is not a population and bias is guaranteed. 82 separate sets of samples may show a trend but does not confirm or negates an hypothesis. a few thousand samples (82x15 = 1230) is a better mark. I have seen the 200 games mark being used as a criteria by some GMs (200x15 = 3000 shifts) I take advance stats on Hockey players with a grain of salt, and maybe an ice cold brew... or two 🍺🍺
  20. thank you for the summary. what did you think of Harris' game. two late goals were on him, the pass between his legs, and one later when he was on the side of the net watching the play. On TV he seemed to be hemmed-in in his zone and not able to go for a change, multiple times. He had two points early in the game but I think he gave up more points that he got, despite the stats. He is not able to handle physical players and seems "light"/"over-matched" on the boards am I way off on Harris?
  21. It was an entertaining way to loose. Pezzetta scores and Harris have more reasons to send him down (I know about the injuries, but still…) Lots of goals points from secondary scoring. I am happy
  22. I thought Montembeault would get a lucky win, since he was so good in the first half of the first period … now it’s 6-6 I still believe the horse shoe up his “sleeve” will help the Habs get the win
