yes, I read it. The scout was news, Hughes and St-Louis we already knew. Analytics and player development were not in the article but those are positives. I do not like how little he is (they are) paying attention to the AHL.

The day the Habs win the 25th cup, I will accept that I was wrong. Until then, I will applaud every good move (Dach) by Hugh-Gort and criticize any bad move (nit picking here: keeping Slafkovsky at NHL level)

Gorton's one year anniversary at the helm of the Habs is today, and multiple media outlets are praising his tenure. I went to check the NYR's chances to win a cup this year, to see what is the likelihood the Habs have found the mythical GM (or half of the GM two headed entity) that brings the 25th cup to Montreal. Why do I feel underwhelmed? Am I too pessimistic and cynical?

I do not believe MSL knows how to get the most out of any 4th liner or struggling forward. I do not believe Evans, Pezzetta or even Armia will be able to show their worth this season

listened on French radio, much better play by play than whoever is trying out on TSN690 Suzuki's and Monahan's line played well. Montembeault played very well. I did not watch the game, so I do not know if he stole the win, but he had a good game. Slafkovsky got hit in the chin, and left to the dark room. I would prefer him playing more minutes in Laval: he is not processing the game fast enough right now.

Dach for the win, how poetic. I still would have preferred Monahan. He had a great games

Martin St-Louis is not at the NHL-level yet for in-game adjustments. Often, in post-games press conferences, he says he has much to learn. I like the overall game though, Habs are close to winning in the shoot out I hope Monahan wins it

I agree. That kid is special I watched the 3rd later. Happy for the win, Montembeault wins another game for the Habs. From memory, that’s the fourth win the goalies have stolen I am also glad for another point for Monahan.

I got bored after the 1st and went to watch the last episode of Andor. I am back and I see I didn’t miss much Why did Pezzetta fight? Is the Monahan line playing better? Are they using their size advantage? I am glad to read Montembeault kept them in the game.

swapping Schueneman for Harris would improve them, IMHO. But I doubt this happens

Schueneman, Green, Beaudin, even Trudeau are not on a path to the NHL with the Habs, they could be traded for an AHL FW and free up a spot for Harris/Xhekaj

it is easier at the AHL level, make room for Harris and Xehkaj by trading a couple of AHL LDs for AHL FWDs Assets can be kept for March, but room can also be made for development... but what does a potato head know about this

I missed that article, good summary. Hoarding is what comes to mind, Habs seem to be holding on to players and not making a decision based on performance but on development of a handful of prospects. I much rather see them trade the surplus players for late picks or Ds for Fs. It is like they are saving some of these extra players until a trade can be worked out with depth players being bundled. my $0.02

I am not sure, but should Galipeau be on the Habs fans radar? He seems to have good stats, second in points. I think Parker-Jones was the one training camp PTO to get a contract. Stapley doesn't seem to be doing well so far.

I do not understand why the Habs are keeping rookies at the NHL level when their AHL club is is dire need of talent. Do they trust the coaching staff in Laval? Are they hoarders?

they will probably get a first for Monahan and a second from another trade. I would bundle Norlinder (if he improves in Laval) and a late 1st to go up in the first round like they did with Romanov

Happy the Habs are back to .500 hockey. The goalies are faltering again, which makes it difficult to see the Allen extension as a positive. I love Guhle's and Dach's game and I am happy that Monahan and Dadonov got points thus increasing their trade value I did not like how Suzuki tends to float out there. ON two different french play by plays, they mentioned Cole and David have not been reliable on defensive coverage for a few games. I am not sure about that, but it kind of sounded right

but the data does not support a steady decline with age, as you can tell from Ovechkin's graph
