Buium had a great world juniors... and absolutely deserves a top 10 ranking. Hutson was the best defenceman on the US team though.

I've always thought of him as the first pairing guy as being the guy you want on the ice against the opponents #1 line. I think 30-35 points is his ceiling. I think Hutson and Mailloux will be looked to provide the offence. -
Concussion was saturday. This is 6 days later. This isnt a wow, this is the normal course for a mild concussion. You do some light skating and physical activity. If you get dizzy or throw up or have other symptoms you stop and rest a few days. If you dont have symptoms, you do a little more each day until fully cleared.

Where are they now? News on past Habs prospects and players
Commandant replied to alfredoh2009's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I see him getting a 1 year deal at like 1-1.5 million if bought out. He took the money. Really i dont blame him at all for that, pro athletes have a limited time frame to get paid and he took his chance. I blame Dundon and Waddell but not KK on that. Looks good on them that its blown up in their faces while the guy they let go to make room (Trochek) has done much better than KK. Would i take him back, its unlikely to be an option, and hes not my first choice for how to build centre depth. I just dont see where he fits. -

Except the line is much better with him on it than without him. And when he was taken off the line and played a few games with monahan before the trade, monahan's possession numbers went up. 14/22 are good but 20 makes them even better. On everyone line hes played on since november, they are better with him than without him. So yrah, not buying this -

Gignacs goal was called back for high stick. It was comically high. It was the right call -
They won't collect more money. The ticket sales of Dach playing vs not playing are virtually the same.
-
Gignac's best comparison is Paul Byron IMO. Which isn't to say he will have a shooting streak PDO bender and get close to 20 goals in a season, but that speedster in the bottom lines is the comparison I'm making.
-
I don't think it would even need to be that great.... I'd do a minor prospect or like a 2nd rounder and take on Johansen. We need a body to play centre this season and maybe we rehab and flip him next year ala Monahan. Allen at no retention has very little value IMO. If we retain the price would be high to make us use that spot, but without retention, I don't think you are getting more than a 5th or 6th.

Columbus isn't going to fire all the front office staff with the GM in a midseason transaction. They are gonna let the new GM pick his staff, so not firing Timmins or anyone else, doesn't necessarily mean he's safe.

Exactly, the training/medical staff isn't going to have much effect in preventing injuries in a contact sport. Sure they can do some (but not everything) in avoiding non-contact injuries. The biggest thing they can do is always going to be about their recovery after the injury. -

Plus/minus is a terrible stat to use cause it counts ENG against, which is going to be worse on a bad team. So hes hurt there by being on the Habs. It also doesnt isolate for goaltending, or being on a bad team 5v5, or SHGA, etc... Add into it the fact the habs have been a one line team since Dach has been hurt and his level of competition is higher than anyone else. If we look at the more advanced defensive stats Suzuki has been playing Selke level defense for the Habs. I have less than zero concerns on his defensive game. -

I still think there is more there l but obviously St. Louis doesnt trust him so its best for both sides to cut bait -
Im fairness, the Canucks are on a massive PDO bender so the other shoe is likely to drop at some point.
-
I would be very surprised if he played this season given there is nothing to play for. That said some light skating is probably good to start rebuilding his muscles that he hasnt used in months.
-
He reminds me of Saku
-
The season isn't over, but Barkov, Granlund and Kakko. He has an outside chance to be second with only Barkov ahead. He's also ahead of Laine, which is a good person to be ahead of, considering he was trending as an elite NHLer prior to injuries and now off-ice issues.

Konsta Helenius now has the 4th best season ever for a 17 year old. https://twitter.com/1ereronde/status/1755303569975075000

Slaf is the real deal. -
Slafkovsky is proving why he was taken first overall. Hughes got it right despite taking size. Dach hasnt stayed healthy but when he has been, has shown he has talent. He didnt prioritize size over talent there. HuGo used high picks to trade for Newhook, draft Mesar and Hutson. He also took Beck who is 6'0". I dont see him blinded by size.

Both are against the "code" in their respective sports. The code is stupid in both sports.

Im with GHT. You gotta earn your icetime Mysak is in his third AHL season and has never proven to be a top 6 AHL player. Kidney needs to dominate on the third line and that would prove he needs more ice time. Etc. Go out and earn the spot.

Of the leafs fans complaining about Grieg. How many are Blue Jay fans who celebrated Jose Bautista's bat flip?
-
Ok, the risk should be you get an opponent who is fired up and beats you the next game. The risk shouldn't be that you get crisschecked in the head, or you get attacked, or you have to fight cause you scored a goal.
