Basically we have to get real hot and it needs to start now. If we don't take like 75% of our games between now and the trade deadline, we might as well dump some vets and say screw this season cause it ain't happening. If thats what they are offering, sure. But desperate teams sometimes do silly things. I'd be making phone calls to see what they are offering. Maybe they include a Beau Bennett, Eric Tangradi or Tom Kuhnackl in their offer.

Saving money is huge for Calgary here, I agree. Can't pay Burris his salary to be a backup and thats what he would have been. Glenn will be a good backup, and DeWitt has some versatililty to fill in at a few positions, even if he is a backup. So I can see what they liked. But this is about cash and cap space for Calgary.
