  1. Great post. Although, I see the mindset organizationally as.. make the playoffs. Once camp is over and weaknesses identified, moves will be made. Leading up to camp Bergevin will be an opportunist. Once the organization makes decisions on weather Bourque can handle top 6 minutes or if youth makes him expendable. Alt adjustments will be made to have a complete and competitive roster as best as possible. IMO Molson wont sit on his hands if the quality of the product on the ice can be improved while only losing a few picks or assets. Gotta break some eggs to make an omelet. Im not saying throw then hen in either though.
  2. All out comes are possible. Im just looking at teams like Nashville and Phoenix that have almost complete rosters with 12-14 million before they hit the floor. Do they flip for gap stops or sign less established players to ridiculous contracts just for the sake of having contracts. Could be viewed as a retooling of sorts.
  3. I think a team will take Gomez for 2 years at $5M per with a cushion of $2.3M on the floor. I think the habs will obviously have to scratch a few itches with depth upgrades. Perhaps even along with Gionta to sell the duo in an American market. I think the habs can afford to unload depth(Bourque, Kaberle, Weber, Diaz, Geoffrion, Palushaj) and not be too hindered as long as they come out with piece(s) that fit perfect in the puzzle moving forward.
  4. Pax - Plek - Gionta DD - Eller - Cole Bourque - LL - Armstrong Moen - White - Prust
  5. Touching on this Yandle talk. Phoenix is going to have some issues signing guys to fill adequate needs while reaching the cap floor. A trade sending say, Gomez|Kaberle along with DD|Eller|Bourque Geoffrion|Palushaj Weber|Diaz for say Hanzal and Yandle. Pheonix gets mad roster spots filled and salary in place to meet the floor. Habs land 2 major pieces. Obviously Hanzal would be as untouchable as Yandle and the two in one move involving the name Gomez is ridiculous. It would be nice to be in the position Philly usually is when negotiating with teams are mortgaging players.
  6. I'd love that.. Borurque, Weber and two 2nd's... either way.. Gainey should be a sweety and take Kaberle off our hands for Robidas lol
  7. My love affaire with SJ as the Habs main trade fling continue to eveolve. Signing Jagr and trading Gionta Bourque Kristo Kaberle & Weber to SJ for Havlat Demers and Vlasic. With the addition of adequate picks. Havlat Plek Jagr Pax DD Cole Moen LL Prust Amstng Eller White Blunden Noke Gorges Subban Markov Vlasic Emelin Demers Bouillon Cote Habs have 2 3rd lines this year. Guess the lack of a clear 4th line slightly makes up for the lack of a clear cut 1st line. lol
  8. Moen Eller Leblanc Armstrong White Prust Noke This is where Bourque is trival to me. I dont feel he's a top 6 unless he's secondary to an elite level scorer. And in the current structure of the bottom 6, he's expendable considering the peices in place. And would be better suited to team needs if he was a right handed center who win's faceoffs. Halpern & Metropolit style.
  9. I feel the same about having LL in Hamilton. He can help the habs, but the Pacioretty approach might be best. Having him playing with the rest of the kids is the A whats best for the future. Hamilton will be a fun team to watch regardless. Unless Eller is to be moved and LL moves to center.
  10. This smells like over crowding to me. I wonder if this is preemptive to something else.
  11. I wasn't being serious. Although, I would like to see Jagr with Plekanec. AK is as good as any UFA forward who would want to come here, imo.
  12. Trade Bourque, Kaberle & Weber sign Jagr, Latendresse, Kostitsyn, Souray & Bouillion..
  13. What's it gonna be? Closer to Pavelec or Quick's signing? I say 5 years $28.75M. $5.75M cap hit.
  14. Marleau - Plek - Doan Pacioretty - DD - Cole Kostitsyn - Eller - LL Moen - T.Mitchell - White Geoffrion - Noke
  15. They were planning on Darche signing.
  16. I'd love to have a player like Volchenkov playin with Emelin next year of the bottom pairing. Experienced Shutdown guy to play at the 5 and let Emelin have a little leash extention. Someone that can be on ice with him and communicate effectively without limiting the quality of Markov's minutes. If thats possible, ..With Kovy and Robinson. haha Gionta going makes tones of sense.
  17. pfff.. no kidding. but what potentially would that cost the habs? A future Galy Kovy combo could be massive.
  18. ..odd.. Gill's signing just announced lmao I talk to myself in real life too!
  19. Clearly the market is there for him. This makes me feel nice inside,
  20. With the cap going up 6 million, Gomez will be moved without a problem. Most probably to a low market team like Phoenix. Maybe for the rights to negotiate with Doan prior to the 1st. Reaching, I know. But feasable considering the cap and personel movement concerning Phx,
  21. • UPDATE: Hockey Inside/Out has learned that the Canadiens are among four or five NHL teams currently expressing interest in adding Hall of Famer Larry Robinson to their coaching staffs. No more details than that for now. Giggity.
  22. D 1) Suter 2a) Allen 2b) Kubina 3a) Salvador 3c) Kuba 4a) Martinek 4b) Gilroy T6 1) Parise 2) Doan 3a) Jagr 3b) Whitney 3c) Kostitsyn 4a) Parenteau 4b) Sullivan 5) Mueller B6 1) Gaustad 2) Prust 3) T. Mitchell 4a) Asham 4b) Latendresse 5a) Halpern 5b) Winchester 5c) JF Jacques *coughs (Lose Budaj and sign Clemmenson.)
(I love not having a french key board lmao)
