  1. Would there be this much hullabaloo if he went as the first pick in the 2nd round? If the good ‘ol GMs club blacklisted him for the first round, only for the first team in the 2nd round to gleefully pick him? Analytically, I’m just trying to find where the potential outrage would be minimized. No draft this year? Picked in the third round? Never picked by any team at all, ever? Why would, for instance, arbitrarily sentencing him to a one year draft moratorium change anything?
  2. Well the Habs certainly woke up a ho-hum first round.
  3. Was the wrist injury from the Ovechkin hit? I remember that being a massive hit and Drouin never quite looked the same to my untrained eye. (I know he played well under Ducharme, but still, didn't seem like the same player.)
  4. Not to get in to line numbering, but what is your 1st line?
  5. Those were his exact words. Well, except they were in french.
  6. I think it was just surgery recovery time, not missing the first 6-8 of the season.
  7. At this point, it's not an if. Bergevin said not next season and "probably" done for his career.
  8. So far in Bergie's presser, Weber most likely done, career-wise. Drouin will be back in camp this fall, Price out 6-8 weeks.
  9. Draft picks for an entry draft aren't submitted to the league 10 hours before they are actually selected. Imagine if the NHL gathered all of the exposed NHLers in a rink to hear their names be called!
  10. They can announce trades today.
  11. Plot twist! Price gets traded to Seattle with $ retained. Wouldn't that be a kicker.
  12. Given a few of the headscratchers that were picked, there are side deals in play. I haven't heard of any of the trades leaking.
  13. Rumor is Price stays put, Seattle to select Cale Fleury.
  14. While I still don’t think Seattle will take price, it would be quite an odd feeling if they did. Price has been the cornerstone of the franchise for so long now. He’s been our elite player. And, *poof*, just like that, he’d be gone. What/who becomes the identity of the team?
  15. Funny enough, she actually did say Washington State in her post. Haha!
  16. Angela Price is doing a great job at trolling via social media. "Heading to Washington tomorrow for no reason at all." I don't have an instagram account, so my wife was showing it to me earlier.
  17. I'm aware they can wait to sign Danault. I'm also aware that right now, they are allowed to negotiate with him. Do I think it's likely? No. It's possible, if improbable. But we do know for sure that some of Seattle's signings will be UFA/RFA players that will count as their draft pick.
  18. I don't think they will select Price. I think it's either Kulak or a signed Danault. Not sure overall on the quality of Cs available, so maybe Danault is someone they're looking at.
  19. I'll take "Who are three players that played (a handful of games) for the Habs over 6 years ago, Alex?" I mean, did Moen do anything after being traded for Gonchar? Hemsky never played again after his concussion issues, Semin was quickly sent packing and his contract was a non-issue, Briere was traded for Parenteau (who was then bought out). I mean if we're getting on Bergevin for these minor issues, might as well start critiquing his fashion sense, too. Briere/Parenteau were the only one of those 4 that had minor cap implications. Mind you, I called for his canning after the Habs lost an abysmal game 4 to the Leafs. I'm not nearly as sunshine and rainbows after the playoffs as others are, but the depth flyers that Bergevin took aren't the reasons that I wasn't happy with his GM performance that past few years. It's another offseason of "we'll see". First and foremost, let's see how Montreal manages to replace Kulak when he's selected by Seattle.
  20. What about Radulov? Seems like most of the attempts at reclamation projects were done at salaries that put many of the failures in "why not?" category. Semin, Hemsky, Streit...
  21. Interim no more for Ducharme, 3 year deal. Coach for the Habs is checked off the to-do list. https://montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/nhl/hockey-inside-out/head-coach-dominique-ducharme-signs-three-year-extension-with-montreal-canadiens
  22. A lot of that will depend on if Toews and his $10.5M cap hit is back off LTIR next season.
  23. Bergevin didn't sound too committal in his presser. "I have on year left on my contract and I will honor that."
  24. Well, SOMEONE will definitely be leaving in the expansion draft.
