  1. in your dreams. it will likely be 239$ or something like that in montreal. mostly everything on ebay is cheaper than in montreal. btw 9.99$ shipping is expensive?!
  2. I'm pretty sure it's a frikkin steal. Pouliot's talent level is stories above Latendresse. If Latendresse develops a mean streak and Pouliot shows no willingness to play, then it's the only way we'll be a loser... otherwise, pure talent wise, we raped them. Tony Marinara (sic) called that Latendresse was on the market 3-4 weeks ago.
  3. our pathetic system is not pathetic. "something happened". I don't know what. but something happened. Komi, Higgins, S. Kost, A. Kost, Price, Gorges, Latendresse, Lapierre were all "amazing" in 07-08 suddenly in 08-09, they become crap in the 2nd half of the season. and our system turns out to be "pathetic"?!! At least, Price and Gorges seem to have recovered, and A. Kost seems to be on his way back. Higgins looks like a hobo. Komi is doing not so great (and I'm pretty glad about it) S. Kost seems to have recovered, he just got a shit attitude, as always. Lats and Laps seem to have sunk lower, cause at the end of last season, they were quite good at times with Kosto... HOWEVER, they always seem to start slowly. Last season we were calling them the two most improved players over the season. :/
  4. you sound like a guy who doesn't know who Andrei Markov is. just saying.
  5. I liked those lines. Remember during the preseason, Plekanec and Camm were a good duo. with Gomez back, we should NOT put him back with Camm. Gomez Max Pac and whoever (eventually Gio, when he'll be back)
  6. nah, not Gorges. we need to keep some of these guys. no matter what's the talent coming. it might sound odd, but Gorges is one of the longest serving habs player right now. young, efficient and cheap players like Gorges, Lapierre, should be part of our core, even in harder times.
  7. What's the most vital to our successes? What do we need the most to win more games? Would the current team win more games with a legit 2nd line (without markov)? or would they win more games with the actual lineup + markov? I'm finding it hard to evaluate whether we miss markov the most or a second line. maybe with markov all would be well... or maybe with a 2nd line, we'd miss markov a bit less.
  8. DON'T TRADE THE PRICE. /TRADING PRICE DISCUSSIONS. okthanksbye
  9. It was just after the lockout, every team crapped their pants because of the "european factor"... L.A. took a huge risk in everyone's opinion. The concensus #5 was Gilbert Brule. No way was it at any time Kopitar. yes I wish. yes you got the better pick in your mock draft. but the question would be more accurate if it was : Brule or Price. ---------- oh and what about every French speaker in Qc salivating at the thought of having Benoit :puke: Pouliot??
  10. ask to negotiate an extension before trading for him. :/
  11. Frolov a healthy scratch -tsn wow... Frolov for Andrei??
  12. Halak is as renowned as Niemi or Crawford.
  13. anyhow, I would be surprised if ANYTHING at all happens before the 20 games mark. Gainey did his moves during the summer... The right thing to do right now is to let things Gel and not panick. If they don't gel after 20 games, we must adapt. Until then, we have to let the elements in place TRY.
  14. halak has no trade value. just heard on RDS that S. Kost has 3 KHL offers on the table.
  15. I was kinda sleeping, kinda not so sleeping. (fell asleep while negotiating with Chicago in NHL 2010) and got that "trade idea" which is not so bad... To Chicago : A. Kost S. Kost To Montreal : Cam Barker Patrick Sharp Yes, I know, must be smoking some pretty hot stuff if I really think that the value is "fair"... However, in the cap era, that's not so far fetched. 1. Chicago is underusing Barker, because of Keith, Seabrook, Campbell, etc. 2. Patrick Sharp makes a whole lot of money for his class... they will have to sign Toews, Kane... etc. They alredy have Hossa. Sharp at 4M is a luxury. 3. There is the S. Kost - Kane connection. 4. At their respective salary / potential, etc. S. Kost for Sharp could be something interesting for both. 5. A. Kost for Barker does make a lot of sense for them. we'd be in cap troubles when Markov would be back... but when's that? at that time, maybe someone overpaid will have just become very expandable... I'm not suggesting they are right now, but maybe by then, Spacek or Hamrlik will prove to not be so useful.. Or Laraque, or whoever.
  16. we should start a new forum: hindsighthabsworld.net There would be a topic for every transaction and every draft pick. FUN FUN FUN
  17. me too, I'm elevating him at the "superhero" expectation after yesterday's showdown actually he can't do worse than that gang. Our big 3 shall be Mara - Gorges - MAB Mara and Gorges have been imo the "more-less-worst" (les plus moins pire!! translating an "untranstlateable" wrongful expression ) of the gang.
  18. browse in the 400's im never at home, I cannot confirm. or check on videotron's website. I heard it on CKAC and checked when home and found it in the 400s, that's for sure... but can't remember. was it 410s, 420s, 430s? :/
  19. to the poster who asked me how Sergei is better... I should have said "CAN BE" better. when on his game, Sergei has proven that he's better than any of them when they are on their game too. There are some games where I was frikkin impressed, I was awed, astonished by Sergei's performances. However, I can't say the same about d'Ago or Pax or whoelseInamed... I can just say that they are good kids, with some talent, skills and perks. When they are on "cruise control" they all more or less suck though.
  20. down = down... ou déprimé... mais plutot down. LOL = LOL or haha or hehe... but mostly LOL
  21. yes that's 100% true (Cap locked in some players). but it doesn't stop there. they will likely lose Gonchar (rumour, capwise, etc), they have to rely on guys like Satan and Sykora on the FA market... we have Markov for ever (likely), we have Kost, Gui, etc who have more upside than their veteran floaters. they have more elite, we have more depth. yes they won the cup. Down the road, they will have decisions to make though. down the road however, i think we could keep that team for 10 years! right, if the cap doesn't go up, we have to shed Hamr to add a Marleau (speculation / example) however, we have the Ds to replace Hamr. Who do the Pens have on the wings? who can they get? They had to trade Whitney to get Kunitz because they were badly in need of wingers. about the "cap theory" what goes down must come up... if the cap drops, it drops for everyone and will come up the next year or so. right now I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the salary level is higher than it was before the lockout (I have no clue about that though) If it goes down, Flyers are screwed, Rangers are screwed, even the "lowly" LEAFS are screwed etc. My guess, with all the big players involved, it will never go down again. The Rangers and the Leafs were opposed to a cap to start with, they WANT to spend. the higher the cap, the better it is for them since it gives them back their "spending power" edge that Nashville or Buffalo cannot top. I think it's totally irrelevant to focus on that ONE argument to judge Gainey's work. -it's mere speculation and it is only a remote possibility among others. The sky might fall too, you know -if it happens, it happens for everyone, i.e. we're not worse off. Should we take the "wait and see" approach instead and not lock anyone untill hell freezes over (i.e. the cap falls)?? Well Gainey kinda slightly banked on that. that was part of the reason why we had so many FAs and such, he thought that he would be able to collect players for cheap because of a lowered Cap at the start of this season. It didn't happen, so he went on a spending spree during a summer in which GMs were apparently more cautious than before. e.g. a team like Nashville didn't offer a 7M contract to Cammalleri like they could have any other offseason. So with hindsight, spending this summer could be a genius move?! we can't know, it's speculation. we don't know yet, it's useless, it's being overly negative/positive about mere speculations, it's focusing on unknown details rather than on the excitement to see Cammalleri's takeway on a Flames player, make that beautiful pass to Gomez and firing that one timer!! about drafting elite players... you're right. we failed beside Price. beside Streit according to NYI's fans. ( i was about to say Komi according to TO fans, but komi was there before timmins ) Beside what A.Kost still promises at only 24 y.o. MaxPax, Avstin, Maxwell, Subban, Fischer, Nattinen, Leblanc and co. are all extremely young to be called elite or not. still. what elite players had we drafted from our 1993 Stanley Cup? Roy. yes. Carbonneau was elite? Desjardins was elite? Daigneault? Dionne? Lebeau? Muller and Damphousse, yes. But we had traded for them. anyhow, the post is already too long. Good game tonight. Don't spend too much time on posts like those guys. Watch the game, the highlights, go to youtube, check Pavel Bure's top ten. On videotron Illico, centerice is free this month. It's the channels around 420 i think. Have fun. Schneider?
