  1. What math did you take in school? :?- Bulis and Sundstrom have already left, Arnott and Langenbrunner are superb replacements. If only one of Ribeiro, Zednik or Bonk...not all 3 get moved (and it will most likely be Ribs) then there is room for Kastitsyn. Nobody else on the farm can play better than Arnott or Langenbrunner IMO. What about an injry? If you already got the prospects filling these spots then who replaces them on the depth chart?
  2. Because a couple reports have indictaed he wanted to move back to North America.
  3. there is plenty of room for both Arnott and Langenbrunner considering Bulis, Sundstrom and likely Ribeiro and Zednik on their way outs. I only see Kastitsyn making the team this season, not Chipchura or Latendresse just yet. The Habs broke in several young players last year...a little more veteran leadership is a great idea.
  4. 1. Niklas Lidstrom - Detroit Red Wings 2. Zdeno Chara - New York Rangers 3. Patrik Elias - New York Rangers 4. Joe Sakic - Colorado Avalanche 5. Jay McKee - Buffalo Sabres 6. Marc Savard - Columbus Blue Jackets 7. Teemu Selanne - Mighty Ducks of Anaheim 8. Kenny Jonsson - Buffalo Sabres 9. Rob Blake - Colorado Avalanche 10. Wade Redden - Ottawa Senators 11. Ed Jovanovski - Florida Panthers 12. Brendan Shanahan - Detroit Red Wings 13. Teppo Numminen - Tampa Bay Lightning 14. Jason Arnott - Montreal Canadiens 15. Bryan McCabe - Toronto Maple Leafs 16. Dwayne Roloson - Edmonton Oilers 17. Martin Gerber - Toronto Maple Leafs 18. Sergei Samsonov - Edmonton Oilers
  5. from spectors today. SPECTOR'S MAILBAG. Thanks to "Dominic" for the following: "From Mix 99.7 Radio Station The rumors between the Habs and the Bolts look now like that. The Habs are seeking for Vinny Lecavalier and they look to send in Tampa David Aebisher and the 1st Round Draft pick of this year. The Bolts want to give Montreal the small winger Martin St. Louis for David Aebisher and a draft pick (it wasn't mentionned). An other rumors also begin this week. The Canuck are looking to keep Ed Jovanovski and Todd Bertuzzi could be on the move due to his contract. Gainey who tried to get Bertuzzi before the trade deadline could come with an offer to Vancouver. The Nuck ask for Souray and Zednik and the Habs are looking to deal Zednik and Ryder."
  6. I would say the "deal" would be no more than a draft pick or a prospect as this is not guaranteeing Arnott becomes a habs...just the opportunity to speak with him before other teams can. As the report says, Dallas gets nothing if they wait 3 weeks.
  7. yes he says that he is not confident he will stay with the Panthers long term and won't sign a long term deal and be traded to a team not of his choice.
  8. Not a dream, that interview was on CBC when Muller was in the skybox with his puck bunny and Koivu. Could still happen but I am sure Carb is looking for a more experienced coach.
  9. Hickey of the Gazette was saying he should be hired as Carbonneau stated he would prefer someone with experience coaching defensemen. Laperriere is and has been an assistant coach with Jersey for the last decade, they would have to lure him back.
  10. Good to hear, always respect your opponent...something Murray and the Senators should learn...remeber when they told the media the had bets on how many goals they would score, shots they would allow against the Habs. Looks good on them.
  11. I don't see the Habs having a designated 1st line. Carbonneau likes a balanced attack. If he wanted to stack one line Kovalev and Koivu would have been paired together. It is much harder to match lines with the skill spread throughout the team. Having Lang, Koivu, Arnott, and Begin as the teams centres would be very solid.
  12. Wow, great to see so much interest in the league.
  13. Plekanec = Pleks Dagenais = Dags...but we will prbably never hear that name again Dandenault = Dandy I personally call Begin...Mr. Sandpaper cause he is all grit.
  14. I don't like the dirty stuff either...but it is better than having him on another team taking cheap shots at our players. Hopefully he will be directed to be a hard nosed pest but to keep the play clean.
  15. Tucker will almost certainly get a suspension as he started the scrap with less than 5 mins left in the game. Quinn and Gainey could also receive fines for the same reason.
  16. not so fast. I hope I am wrong but I believe if a player gets 2 major penalties in a game that it is an automatic game suspension. Campbell would have no choice.
  17. Souray was the one who steamrolled Ovechkin behind the net. Ovechkin went after Rivet twice once knocking him down and a second time getting a shot to the head. Coincidentally, Ovechkin didn't play again until half way through the 3rd period. I think Hanlon sent him a message to pick his battles before he gets hurt. There are other guys on the team that can do the dirty work.
  18. Canadiens defenceman Francis Bouillon, who suffered a bruised left leg after sliding feet-first into the boards Saturday, had X-rays and it was determined his leg wasn't broken. He is "day-to-day" upon his return to the Bell Centre and probably won't play in Washington Monday and at Long Island on Tuesday. - Montreal Gazette
  19. Huh, The price for Gauthier was just as ridiculous as Witt's. 2 second round picks and a prospect is wayyyy too much for a 5-6 d-man. Remember Latendresse was drafted in the 2nd round.
  20. Arnason has more than one knock against him...he is a notorius party goer and is known to be a little on the tipsy side.
  21. I don't Langdon has played a single game so that is not the reason.
  22. still in the rumour stages, The rumour is plausible but the sources have been very sketchy.
  23. A few that stick out in my mind are: Dino Ciccarelli Dale Hunter Brendan Shanahan
  24. I am probably the oldest at 29! married, kid on the way. My d...isn't quite as long but I make up for it with girth....
  25. TSN to show NHL Draft Lottery TSN.ca Staff 7/19/2005 7:04:52 PM The results of the NHL's entry draft lottery, and who gets the No. 1 overall pick, will be carried exclusively on The Sports Network in a special half-hour show on Friday at 4 p.m. (EST). TSN, which is the rightsholder for the 2005 NHL entry draft in Ottawa on July 30, will carry the lottery event live from New York, where the NHL board of governors will be meeting to ratify the new collective bargaining agreement, approve rule changes for the 2005-06 season and conduct the lottery to determine the order of selection for the entire draft. The big prize, of course, is talented youngster Sidney Crosby of the Rimouski Oceanic, whose scoring exploits have made him the clear No. 1 choice and a potential franchise player. Every team in the NHL has a shot at winning that first overall pick in a slightly weighted lottery. Related Info Four teams (Buffalo, Columbus, the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh) have three balls in the lottery. Ten teams (Anaheim, Atlanta, Calgary, Carolina, Chicago, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Nashville, Phoenix) have two balls in the drum. The remaining 16 teams (Boston, Colorado, Dallas, Detroit, Florida, Montreal, New Jersy, NY Islanders, Ottawa, Philadelphia, St. Louis, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington) have one. The team that gets the first pick overall won't pick again until 60th overall. The team that gets the 30th pick, at the end of the first round, gets the first pick (31st overall) in the second round in a "snake" draft system. The anticipation of who'll pick first overall, and win the right to draft Crosby, is higher than it has ever been in NHL history.
