I mean, I know Ryder is "the most overrated 30-goal man in the NHL" but come on give him some credit for what he's accomplished so far. I wouldn't even consider for a second replacing him with a rookie straight out of junior. He has led the team in scoring over the last two years. And do you really want to destroy the chemistry on the Koivu-Ryder-Higgins line by putting an unproven 19-year old on it?

Just remember what happpened in the pivotal final two games between them last year.

The NHL Network is showing a bunch of pre-season games, but stupidly, no Habs games.

Still no defense though. They'll be a better team than last year with the offensive boost from some of the young players, but they'll still suck.

I just moved to Calgary from Ottawa and the first thing I did was to get digital cable, just so I could get RDS. Can't wait til October! The great thing about it is I get home at 5:30 every day, just in time for the games.

I agree. Remember, the highest level he has played at is major junior. I think in the case of most players, it's better for them to have at least one or two seasons in the AHL before moving up to the NHL. Not everybody is Sidney Crosby.

Doesn't look like it. I know the NHL network has some preseason games, but that doesn't start until wednesday. I checked RDS and they won't be showing it either. If RDS isn't showing it, probably nobody is. Oh well, guess it'll have to be CJAD.

That's good stuff to know, jetsniper. I just moved to Calgary from Ottawa, and I've been here for two weeks. I've pretty much spent that entire time in my area in Varsity Acres and around the University, although I have been downtown a bit, mostly around 7th ave. I should go check some of that stuff out.
