  1. :lool: Aren't those great likenesses of Gainey and Carbo??
  2. 1. New defenseman maybe. I understand that Komisarek has the potential to be a star in this league but as of right now I find he is too often caught out of position, mostly from trying to land a big hit. Once his positional play improves he will be a great anchor for our D for the long term. Bouillon is the only one that I would look at replacing. 2. The only dead weight forwards that you have listed there are Ribeiro and Dagenais. I too am in favour of giving these two away if it came to that. 3. You need to watch the games a little more closely then if you don't see improvement in our D. Would you rather have Breezy, Dykhuis & Traverse back? 4. Yes I do agree with you on that one but rather than a one-dimensional goon line Worrell or Oliwa why not hope for a McCarty type. 5. No offense but this point has to be one of the most ridiculous statements ever made on a hockey forum. Aside from Saku he IS the leader of this club and I'll bet there are 29 other teams that would love Rivet in their lineup. Giving the 2nd 'A' to Markov or Begin would be my idea.
  3. Yeah here's to a much better overall effort and result. If Saku's back I see a close 4-3 or 5-4 win and if not it will likely be the same old same old. :puke: :ghg:
  4. Best gift EVER - Fleece Habs touque that looks like a helmut. It's got the earholes, chipstrap and everything. My wife won't let me wear it in public though because she says I look like I could be in the new Johnny Knoxville movie The Ringer.
  5. I've heard that Teddy's was a "BAD BOY" in Buffalo and has been blacklisted ever since. Whatever the reason is why he hasn't had a job since must be very serious because as he has proved he is one helluva coach at every level he has coached. Something just doesn't seem right about this whole situation. He IMO would be a perfect guy to have in MTL.

  7. You were bang on with the 4-0 prediction................................sadly it was the wrong way though. :puke:
  8. Like Captain_Stealth??? Sally:/) As in back alley Sally.
  9. From what I have been told "ACF" might be experiencing some technical difficulties. I am sure we can enjoy his reviews once the tech issue is cleared up. Keep up the great work! Those reviews and his opinions are always great reads. I am curious to see what ACF thinks of the three Habs that were shortlisted for Team Canada and their chances of cracking the lineup. DB
  10.:lol::lol::lol: I hope Sheldon is going in with no plans of making it. Despite the fact that he is one of our leaders he as no right even being on that list. Sorry Sheldon but your play thus far doesn't warrant an invite to the AHL All-star game. As for Theo if he continues to play like he did in the third last night he could possibly slide infront of Luongo or even more possibly a struggling Martin Broudeur. It would be great for him to get one of the top 2 spots. And Ryder, you never know he could make the decision process more difficult on Gretz and the boys if he continues to score and has a good camp. Good luck guys and if anything this could act as a motivator for them to improve even more. Souray especially. DB
  11. Great to have you here. We can never have too many 'Bluenoser's" And just incase, I hope you have a webcam because if god forbid the Habs lose tonight I am sure there are a number of people here that would LOVE to watch you eat your hat.
  12. That is a perfect deal, and I imagine that Gainey got him at his price or close too it. Like you said, let's re-evaluate after 3 years. Atta boy Bob.
  13. The second PP unit is a great idea for Plekanec with Ryder and possibly Bonk? I prefer Saku on the point for the first unit though, with Ribs at centre. The type of hockey that Ribs plays IMO he would be a more creative man down low than on the point. But, I guess I didn't answer the orginal question. I have a feeling that if any two of Hainsey,Bouillon,Striet impress at camp you will see Dandenault on the 4th line with Begin and I like the sounds of Plekanec being there. 14. Serge Savard. or Denis Savard. [Edited on 2005/8/23 by David B]
  15. Except when he left us for a huge contract and then coming back to where the grass is greener at the first chance he had. Always like him, one of our few guys who stood up for teammates. Maybe we can hire him as an assistant coach to replace Rick Green.
  16. Hey Carbo, Good too see you getting your Habs fix over here. Looks like the other fella is having some issues over at the other place. DB
  17. 35 with two turntables and a microphone.
  18. I'm not going to get into a big mess here about this ap but, why would he still be with the Habs or in the NHL for that matter if he was not a valuable piece of the team. If the things you suggest where true why would Gainey not buy out his contract when he had the chance? Don't say because he's buddies with Saku because that doesn't hold much water in a business world like the NHL. Did he wear an 'A' on his jersey the last couple seasons because he's Saku's buddy? Call him what you will or think of him what you will but again in my opinion he's one of the most valuable assets on the team. He's not flashy or anything but during the last season from Christmas on and through the playoff he teamed with Markov were not only our best pairing but one of the better one's in the league. The guy has to be doing something right to compliment a guy with Markov's skill. Again, not looking for a 'Royal Rumble' here but I have a hard time seeing your reasoning as to Rivet's worth.
  19. Isn't he the guy from American Idol?:lol::lol:
  20. Please don't tell me that "ap" is one of the boobirds.:puke: :ghg::ghg::ghg:
  21. Have you been working on your PC too long today ap? Are you saying that Rivet can't play hockey? I think you might need a rest my friend you have become dillusional. Maybe it's just me but Rivet is the kind of guy I would take on my team in a heartbeat. Great team guy, very strong in bigger games (see first round 2004 vs Boston.), always jumps into help a teammate in need whether it be on the ice or with the media, very good tutor to the young guys. In my world he's just as if not more valuable to a team than Souray. For different reasons than Souray obviously, but Souray has played one great half season and hasn't won my heart yet. Cheers
  22. I personally would love to have Witt, especially if Hainsey, Bouillon or Striet aren't up to the task. He would be an excellent asset in our end of the rink. Also, having him could clear the path for Gainey to make a move involving Hainsey if anyone wants him that is. IMO his time in Montreal strongly depends on his performance at the training camp. I think they might be getting frustrated with this kid and expect him to be moved if he doesn't knock managements socks off. Leaving Markov, Souray, Rivet, Komisarek, Dandenault and possibly a guy like Witt with Frankie B being the 7th man with Streit in Hamilton to take on a full North American schedule before he might make the jump to the bigs.
  23. Hmmm... might have been a good idea to find out what it was before you applied. And David B... Streamer plays the cocky, arrogant ass. Its an act. He's still the Western Conference Commish, so please, have some respect for my personnal pet . j/k Ya, I know he is I was just trying to lose the label of 'trying to be everyone's friend'.
  24. It's a great simulated NHL. It is a lot of fun and lots of good guys running the league and cool members too. There are lots of guys who will help you as needed, as a relative newbie I had no problem getting going with their help. Just ignore alexstream, he's a knob! Seriously, best of luck and if there is anything I might be able to help with just ask. :/) :ghg::ghg::ghg:
