  1. This is without doubt most sudden tangeant I've seen in the history of the forum
  2. but of an underestimation of the talent of the first round i think. Even early second. There's some dude named De La Rose who was drafted 2 years ago in the second round who plays regularly in the nhl now. Few more mid-late firsts from that draft? Curtis lazar, Mirco meuller, andre burkakovsky, marko dano, nikita zadorov. Thats ignoring any top 15 talent. The top 10 picks have racked up 485 points together. Point is, first round talent often makes the NHL within 2 years.
  3. I'll make sure the boys don't get too drunk on George street
  4. Personally would be happy with a Erikson Emelin trade. but I don't see it happening
  5. Fair enough, I'd guess that Emelin only has the value of a prospect projected to make 5-7 defenseman at some point. Thats because of his salary. But there's probably someone out there high on him. I just feel like it'll be hard to trade Emelin in a 1-1 swap without getting a player worse than him because it will be a cap move for us. And honestly, I don't want to trade him for PAP type of players because all its doing is moving the problem from defence to forward. MB needs to actually clear the space while obtaining a good 4th-6th defenseman, which is why I suggested a pick be included in the trade.
  6. imo pap is the only dead weight there. calling plex dead weight is lunacy too. Here's a little comparison of two-way forwards. Plex - 26 goals 60 points backes - 26 goals 58 points landeskog - 23 goals 59 points bergeron - 23 goals 55 points o'reilly - 17 goals 55 points if plex is dead weight, so are those guys.
  7. Honestly I'd pair a pick (one of our 2016 seconds) with Emelin it it meant clearing his cap hit, for a solid young physical d man in return. Always liked Brendan Dillon but only for how he looks on paper. I realize that Emelin + a second could be overkill for Dillon as well. sharks are coming off a bad year a may be more willing to deal.
  8. Who wouldn't e happy with the term? At less than 6 mill can't really go wrong!
  9. said that exact thing the other day. For a 6'1 guy how is he that small
  10. Yea that's what we're all saying. We're saying size is the ONLY thing that matters. Actually subban is probably too small only 6'0, we should probably trade him for say.. Jeff Schultz. And Gallagher he's too small too. Send him to the minors and call up connor crisp. Luckily price is tall enough at 6'3 but I'd jump at trading him for rinne. And last Plekanec for Paul gustad and the team will be set.
  11. Noticed that about being moved up. I feel like he commits to the type of game his coach expects him to play. It makes me feel great about his number after he moved to Oshawa. And His coach leaned on him hard during OT. He was also winning quite a few faceoffs cleany.
  12. My hopes are a third liner who can put up 20-30 points while hitting the life out if the opposition. The dream is a second liner who can score 20 goals and close to 50 points while still hitting the life out of the opposition, but I won't hold my breath for that one. He's also known to be great defensively for the most part, so a good two way player as well other than the physicality.
  13. Also just figured I'd mention I don't expect mccarron to ever be a strong offensive player, but I think his overall game is good, plus his size would help mtl, mccarron makes sure to finish his checks
  14. Underating mccarron IMO. I think he'll more than just cut it as a forth liner in a couple years. I think he's even going to make the coaches make a tough decision this fall before ultimately heading to St. John's (where I will watch him and Fucale woooo)Fucale couldn't be faulted on the last two goals at all either, he played well.
  15. To me Fucale looks tiny in the net, and he's always down so low, in a weird condensed butterfly. He's playing the puck pretty well though. Love what I've seen from mccarron
  16. Better to get a Boyle than a schremp. Bottom line is don't read into the size too much. If he should be drafted in the first round draft him. Big guys bring one element to the table, small guys bring another.
  17. hudon isn't that small. Pretty sure he's listed as 5'10 sometimes
  18. why is that? besides, shedding 4.1 million would be nice too
  19. Greenway on the left and mccarron on the right would also be amazing. And it would be funny if another russian, Svechnikov, drops like Scherbak did (He's ranked 18 by ISS) and we pick him up. It's funny because he's 6'2, and posted 78 points in his rookie season (just like Scherbak). Imagine the russian line Svechnikov-Galchenyuk-Scherbak
  20. i like those buffalo picks. Might be an interesting way to tackle it if its such a deep draft. pick 31 is essentially a first rounder anyway
  21. It's too bad we don't have a second rounder in that case. But I'll take resigning Petry anyway.
  22. anyone heard a report on Noah Juulsen? Scherbaks teamate, 6'2 defenseman who put up over 50 points, and I haven't seen him in any first round mocks. Seems like a damn good stat line though.
  23. The thing is trading a pick isn't allllwaays trading away the future if you get te right return. Anyone read the article of the Draisaitl suggestion? Edmonton will have a logjam of centres with Nuge and Mcdavid, so it might be possible to pry Draisaitl for say, Fucale Tinordi and the first? I'm no gm so I don't know if more or less would be needed. Damn Draisaitl would be awesome though. Big bodied Center. And and Chucky could make a fine duo in two years
  24. Yes the summer dog days are the worst. Hockey is the best part of winter, and the worst part of summer (cause there is none)
