  1. I can finally say it! That was good for Price. A nice confidence/ GAA and SV% booster
  2. I'm gonna wait until after the game to make any comments on the goal keeping tonight
  3. Extremely busy with university tonight so I can't watch the game, but I'm glad to hear all the positivity! Let's hope they show this all night. Go Habs
  4. Oh the irony of Bourque assisting on that. I hope all the media *%#^storm about him gave him a kick in the butt
  5. on the bright side, if MB stands pat, we'll have a top 5 pick! I really think a huge problem is this dump and chase bull*^&%. That only works if your team is big and strong enough to out muscle the opposition, and sorry, that is not our team. The weirdest thing is, the team isn't this bad. We have pieces here, we just aren't putting it together at all. Eller has been disappointing, even despite his lack of linemates, I expected more this year. MB has his work cut out for him.
  6. I see exactly where you're coming from, but don't you think the gally's are probably a better young duo than desh/pac? And Pacioretty subban a better group than Gio Plek? And to that, during the gauthier era our prospect cupboard was bare. We've probably had as many picks in two years with MB as we had in four with goat. Not to mention a lot of 2nds. I remember when kristo was our FIRST pick one year. That isn't the case now.
  7. I'm also on board that we won't get value out of trading beaulieu. In 3 years he could be a top three defenseman with his skill level. Maybe he'll just be a bottom six PP guy, but that guy really shows flashes of brilliance sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future he was worth more like Wayne Simmons in terms of forwards. I think that our next best chance at a cup comes when pk, price, and Pacioretty are the "veteran" players at around 30 years each. By then, Gallagher Galchenyuk, Eller will all have also reached close to their prime. Our defence, if it turns out well could include pk, Emelin, Tinordi beaulieu, (Patern could really turn out to be a great bottom 6 guy) and possibly one of thrower nygren or dietz. Now, none of us want the team to do bad, obviously, but netting a plethora of quality picks from shipping out Gionta (2nd) Markov (1st ) Murray (2nd or 3rd cause playoff contenders pay for size) Briere (3rd) Bourque, (bag of pucks). That's gives of a heavy depth of fairly high picks, which could all be great youth by the time we have my aforementioned veterans. Not to mention an entire bag of pucks! Add to that our current prospect pool, Hudon, Mccarron, Lehkonen, Reway, Vail, Bozon, Collberg, De La Rose, Fucale, Crisp.. I'm even forgetting some, but there's reason for optimism with that train of thought. Easier said than done 8)
  8. Serious question. Are we going to make the playoffs?
  9. That's how I'm feeling right now. But then again I haven't felt good about this team since the 10 game run. Since than we've been a crap .500. Like didn't necessarily play as good as .500, which stinks
  10. Alright let the this team sucks train start rollin. It's nights like these that I'm glad I'm not the GM, cause trades would be flying out my arse
  11. I know we lost but I loved the game. We scored, we looked good and put an effort forth most of the game. Price, despite allowing 4 goals, made some great saves. It was the type of game we lost but doesn't make me feel like we're going on a losing skid
  12. Who are the Habs? Why do some night they outskate and dominate even te best of the nhl, and the very next day lose a blowout game to the worst in the nhl? Why does this happen? I feel like this is why fans are so polarized and quick to jump at lofty goals and the cup and the next day be talking about a lottery pick. Because literally the Habs can look the best one day, an the worst the next day. Where's our consisentancy and what do we need to become a consistent threat in the league? What do the best teams in the league seem to have?
  13. I'm so happy for Plekanec! He's underrated so maybe this will finally get him so well deserved recognition. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing him as our captain either. I like it better than gorges. He's a lifelong hab, the most consistant player we have, and it just seems like your captain should be one of your best players. That's Plekanec. Here's to subby price Emelin markov making it. Am I missing anyone?
  14. To be honest I'd probably move him to. I'm glad he's slowly proving us wrong, but even if he was doing amazingly we just don't need a small centre man. I'd just be weary of trading him for nothing now. If he gets traded at least he should get sooome kind of return. Which is amazing to say after his first 18 games. The point about plex-> Kane/Ryan is interesting, but Ottawa doesn't really need a Center and Ryan would take a lot more than plex. As for Kane.. He's actually been great after a pretty slow start. He might be a ppg in his last 10. It would help the offence maybe, and certainly long term future, but losing plex is scary
  15. So Davey now has 19 points in his last 22 games I believe? 1 in his first 18. That's an amazing turn around. Also just can't help but mention PK too. If he doesn't make team canada someone should be fired. Absolute monster tonight.
  16. I love the Habs. I'd honestly call myself more of a Habs fan than hockey fan. When I watch the world juniors, I watch Habs prospects. Sadly, I really do think the Habs are playing far above their heads. I see flashes of great hockey from the Habs, but them I see flashes of absolute embarrassment. It balances out to still not being content with the team. I'm calling for trades because I know that as they are, the Habs can't win the cup, barring an absolute tear on top of price playing out of his mind. Montreal has lovely parts in a young core. Trade to add Add 2-3 more young parts and wait 3 years. Very promising possibilities. I know it's never that easy but it's better than losing retiring players for nothing of you can't make it
  17. I'm not trying to hop on the trade em all bandwagon but I've actually felt like we needed trades since before the season even began. I wouldn't mind and would actually like in some cases, to see Diaz Gorges Markov, Briere, Desharnais, gionta, And bourque all traded. Just imagine how different the team could look after that kind of overhaul. Pacioretty also needs to get more consistent, and boy Emelin really needs to start showin his stuff again. He definitely can be worth 4 mill but right now... He worries me for sure.
  18. Hudon made a huge check after the play died out once, caused a little scrum. Good to see a bit of fire from him anyway, and that despite his smaller size around 5-10 he's pretty solid. Canada as a whole had a terrible game, Hudon wasn't bad but wasn't good enough either. I was impressed most with De La Rose. He almost had a couple goals alongside his assist, one almost being a short-handed goal. I honestly think this guy will be the perfect two way bottom six guy for us in 3 years or so. Size, speed, smarts, and even a little skill. Kind of like a bigger, slightly more talented Prust minus the fighting.
  19. Alright so maybe we should just stay in the dressing room for the 2nd and 3rd. What hurts more are short handed goals.
  20. Wow so studying for my vertebrates final, checked the score after 1, disappointment, after 2, disappointment again, check after 3, Habs win 3-1! That's a nice surprise! Price once again must have been deadly too
  21. It would take a pretty great return to move Pacioretty, plus he's the type of player we need here anyway, as a big bodied scorer. And 4.5 mill for him is great. Gorges though, I like him a lot but since 2011-2012 something about his game hasn't done it for me. I think a more physical defensive defenseman would be nice. It would be hard to upgrade on gorges if we were trying to get a physical defensive defenseman though, why would anyone trade for a less physical defenseman with similar defensive ability? I think it would have to be a bigger change, gorges to one team for an offensive defenseman, Diaz to another team for a physical defensive defenseman. I'd still like Brendan Dillon from Dallas. Diaz + a 3rd? Probably not enough.
  22. Yea PK needs to play his own game, that's how I feel. Were in a slump, we aren't that poorly constructed. We're missing a few peices though. Up front is where the problem is mostly, like a few of you guys said
  23. Markov is a great mentor for basically any defence man beacause of his great positional play, but am I the only one who thinks P.K. Is getting slightly negatively affected lately? I've noticed a huge drop in P.K.'s physical game lately. That may be due to fatigue, but I also wonder if he's trying to play Markov's game of positional hockey. P.K. Should not be following that part of markov's game as P.K. Is at his best when he's physical. Overall I think Markov has a positive influence but P.K. Is just so good and his own game is so good that I think he should only be taking tips, not actually trying to be Markov. All P.K. Needs is for people to let him be P.K.
  24. Oh no doubt, it would be a terrible move, but I just wonder what he could do
