  1. 100% agree, that would be a perfect addition. I think it's Bryan Bickel though? I think Clarkson is going to command way too much cash. Honestly like a 5 year deal 4.5 or something. He would be a good addition but not at that price.
  2. It drives me wild reading comments on NHL.com about how undeserving Subban is of winning the Norris, and how he's just all offence and all that bullshit. Sad part is, I know if Subban wasn't black he wouldn't get half the criticism. Some people have to take a big step back and take there racist heads out of their asses. Subban will continue to prove them wrong. Gah.
  3. I'm honestly not sure why plecanec isn't isn't the running almost yearly. He's violently underrated IMO.
  4. I actually wasn't expecting him to be resigned but I guess now that I think about it, it does make sense. Bergevin loves his blue line depth, and Drewiske does add some pretty decent size. We'll be losing a d man in kaberle anyway. From the few games I saw, Drewiski played well enough to be a 7th defenseman. As long as this deal hovers around the million dollar mark for cap space (maybe less) It'll be alright.
  5. I really don't see him being traded. The media puts a negative light on Subban saying he's too eccentric, but he's only young. He's maturing. If he ever gets traded, there better be one hell of a return.
  6. He'll spend another year in junior. I feel like he has a lot of upside but even more left to learn. He seems pretty streaky. He was also playing with high scoring over-agers possibly inflating his numbers, a la Patrick Holland. Still he's a good prospect with good upside.
  7. I think that's almost become markov's most important asset. He's been a top tier defenceman, he knows what it's like to play in that role in Montreal, perfect for showing Subban the ropes. My only problem is that, Subban grows at an explosive rate, and I wonder if Markov will have anything to teach him in a year or two. By that time, my hunch is that markov's game will have slowed even more, an his value will be no where near what it is now. That's the only reason I wonder if trading him would be a good idea. I hate watching an assets value pine away, when a good return might have been possible before. This goes for Gionta as well.
  8. Well scrap Nichuskin, where do you think it would be possible to move up to? And what players could be available there
  9. I've noticed a few articles recently about the Habs using the boatload of draft picks they have to move up in the draft. Possibly enough to get a top 10 pick. Moving up seems interesting to me, looking at the possibility of drafting a guy like Valeri Nichuskin. And not to say its a good idea, but what about packing a guy like Markov with a couple second rounders to retain the other picks? I think this should be an interesting draft, considering the 3 picks we have in (I think it's) the top 36. Either way, I trust Timmins and Bergevin with whatever moves they make.
  10. If Emilen's injury is real bad I'll be really bummed about that.. He was a huge part of the team this year. We missed his physicality on the back end a lot. I'm wondering too, did Gionta's injure the same bicep as last season? If so I'm worried about the strength he has left in that arm.
  11. No smurfs maybe, but Kristo, Hudon an Collberg are all around 5'10, not big. Still love the prospects though. I like Gauthier as you said, but I wonder if we could move up just enough to draft Anthony Mantha? He had a beast year in the Q.
  12. That's what I'm thinking. I like desharnais, and actually thought the signing was alright at the time he signed it, but he needs to bring more since he's small and has no grit. Look at Bourque. 3.3 million, similar production and he brings a physical game. Lets just hope DD can bounce back
  13. Also, don't know how likely it is, but am I the only one who would love to see Stephen Weiss in a Habs jersey? He's not big exactly but 6'0 instead of 5'6 sounds good.
  14. I think Desharnais will be hard to move for any decent return. Not many will be willing to take on a 3.5 million dollar cap hit for a small one dimensional player who just had a bad season. Is it worth moving him now or better to wait? I mean his value probably won't get worse than what it is now.
  15. I hope tonight, price wins it for the habs. For gods sake show why you're making 6.5 mill a year. Also hope chuky transitions back to center well. By the way I just recently signed up, love reading the blog!
  16. Beaulieu is going to be an offensive talent. His skating and puck handling are awesome. I'm really looking forward to when he cleans up his game cause I can see him and P.K. destroying teams on the PP when Markov's time is done.
  17. Tough night. Habs had a ton of chances they couldn't bury. Anybody else think Drewiske filled in pretty good for Emelin?
