We need to bring up CHIPS! True honest character. True honest skill. True honest grit. True honest toughness. He can take care of himself and his mates and bring intensity that this team needs. Not a one week "let's see how he does" kind of thing. CHIPS! CHIPS! CHIPS! CHIPS! I think that would be the most important and beneficial move this team makes this season. We need an honest player to step into the dressing room and call it like it is, and Chips would be that guy if he could get an honest chance.

I don't think we have to worry about that. Price is always good for a crap goal on most nights even when he plays really good. Just a solid 60 min effort and win would be nice. Knowing the team we have on paper I sure don't want to be reading stuff like this all season. Granted it's TSN but doesn't hide the fact it's true. I never thought this would happen myself. We find ourselves in a strange position. Laraque shouldn't go around instigating because he'll get the extra 2 min which would suck. The part that sucks even worse is no one wants to get into it with him so it kind of makes him void on the ice. Hopefully he'll figure it out with Carbo on how to approach this. I loved the way he policed the game the night Andrei got hit. If nobody wants to throw with george then LIL #### or Laps needs to get mouthy and when the player pushes back BGL needs to barrel in and say hello in a firm "don't touch him or you will be eating my fist" kind a way. Same with Price being shoved. BGL needs to go on the ice and make sure the other team knows that If you even think about stepping into our blue paint again, you are basically saying you want to fight me. I'm sure there would be a dramatic decline in attempts to run Price. I'm not worried though. The boys know they've been lame, it will get a lot better..... Leafs are overachieving and we are underachieving. They'll burn out when we? We'll get hot. I hope. Let's thank our boys for giving them 2 points. Remember we still want the Leafs to think they can make the play-offs.

Could anyone figure out what Saku was saying to Grabs when him and sergei we're tooling around? It seems Saku has taken Sergei under his wing since Andrei's hit. Coming in to cool shit down was pretty big of our captain. Like everyone here I was pretty bummed at our effort, I'm not going to try and figure out what happened and just blame it on the lay-offs. Let's see how we play after a good solid week to get our legs going. I don't know if anyone caught Gainey taking notes during a Leaf goal but rest assured there is going to be names called out at the next practice . I think we can officially give Grabs some credit. He is fast, He has skill, He's small, but it doesn't matter when you can make Markov look like a sitting duck and roof it on Price at top speed and ease. The kid looks good. Real good. That's what is ######ed about the voting system. Hell, let's vote for everyone so the east team is entirely made up of habs. I would much rather have the boys rest so they can't use the centennial year and allstar game as burn out factors when they get knocked out in the first round. It would be nice if we all just had one vote. It would keep the All Star team true and honest. While it would be an honor we are not the powerhouse that everyone thinks we are yet. Markov to me is the true All Star that deserves to go........ What's the record for number of players from one team being voted in. I would imagine the Mario Penguins?

Laraque Vs Fritz

I hope he'll want to prove himself. It sucks that Laraque lost his first fight in a Habs Jersey that's all, and to a kid that may be 6'8, but it was his first NHL fight ever. Ivanans, Boo and Chara are 6'8 plus and that never stopped Laraque. I'm disappointed, not bitchin, but I'm also not going to make any excuses for him either.

I come home to a pleasant surprise. Just started reading the thread from where I left in the second, that was a funny read. I noticed in the recap on NHL.com that BGL got 5 for fighting but not one person mentioned it in this thread. Then I saw the replay. Damn, BGL got worked. Now we have to watch that for 3 years. Figures, he comes to Montreal and starts sucking. Hopefully this will wake him up and he'll start hitting the gym. Price can really look lame at times. I don't know if it's so much the hype that the boys are believing or is it that all teams are gunning for them. Islanders brought the A game right from the drop of the puck. The boys need to realize they are going to have to deal with this every night from every team all season long. Why couldn't we get the schedule to be like this at the end of the season? Another 4 days off?

Great points that I really do understand. It's a double edged sword, but I can't help feel let down and pissed. So happy that the Kostitsyn brothers made the team before they were discouraged.

Both are not here and ready to play for Montreal. Both don't want to be in america. Both have signed contracts in Russia, for more money, for an extended amount of time. Both are suspended, and if they even think about coming back they will resume they're careers right where they were when they left. Which is what was making them unhappy in the first place. Perezhogin and Valentenko's situation is probably more alike then you think. Add Emelin to that mix. Why you might ask? If Russians can walk away from they're NHL contracts and go play in the Russian league then why can't Emelin walk away from his team and join the Habs? If he wanted to you would think it be done.....since there is no agreement with KHL and NHL yet. Until I see Emelin here in a Habs Jersey he was a waste of a pick too.........

In general what a waste of a draft pick! I still don't understand how he is allowed to do this after the Radulov incident. I think the NHL should just simply stop drafting Russians unless they are surely NHL ready. With the KHL starting up these players will constantly be looking for loopholes to run through if they don't get they're way. BS! On another note, as I was looking at his draft year I noticed the Bruins drafted Lucic right after we drafted Ben Maxwell, hmmmmmmmmm. Gee Trevor Timmins sure missed that one. Other than that it looks like a lame draft year past the first round anyway for all the teams. Perezohgin still stings a little more then Pavol, but this can't keep happening, IT BLOWS!

My mistake it was Pierre, and I read it here from BTH and Jetsniper Picture thread None the less. I like coming here but feel people get suspended for nothing. I just ran into, I forget the name, on Hfboards and they told me that they don't even know why they were suspended and it's until 2019. So I assume you mods didn't want them around anymore. I guess I'm taking it personally because I've been suspended for dumb minor stuff before....sorry, it's annoying!

Nope, your wrong...... I think he was fine with the argument, shortly after, someone, one of the mods I think started to dog his threads. Saying they were crap and not original, that's the straw that broke the camels back. He felt unappreciated and Cataclaw took over, boy that was a treat. Game threads were put up during the 1st period. Spidey was chased away if not suspended.

Well then Carbo is being a bit of a Jackk-Ass . Last night both Pleks and Koivu killed in the face-off circle except against Brind'Amour, who happens to be the king of face-offs. I wouldn't go making Pleks feel like crap over that. He'll get his shit together, we all know that.

I don't know, sure they looked slow and lazy. But they also looked scary tight at times. They just weren't connecting or finishing. Some of those power-plays were fun to watch and would be even more fun if all those missed nets actually connected. Markov? looks like it's going to take a while to find the sweet spot but he is developing a bomb from the point. Kovalev? I think is better then last year. Pleks was wicked in pre-season, he'll get it back with no doubt. Lats, I'm not going to shit on him, but I don't feel he is developing into that player we want him to be. He's looking more and more like ahhhhhhh right I'm not going to shit on him.............. Koivu is playing great. Price was awesome, saw a lot of quickness that was pretty impressive. What I see is a team that started quick, and now is finally healthy. In a lot of ways it's like starting the season all over again and actually putting a game plan into affect. They are going to be fine.
