  1. In "Le Journal de Montréal" today they were saying that BG as been in serious talks with Anaheim, but they are not sure for whom exactly. They said that BG is apparently very interested in Salei (a rough reliable D who can play 20 min/game like he is looking for) and that Anaheim wants Komisarek in return. They way things are going right now and the way Komi is looking this year, especially under the new rules, I think it would be a good trade....although giving up on Komi is painful for me...I thought this guy would have been a rock for us.
  2. This deal would be brutal....YEURK!!!! Denis is 28, as never had any great stats and is far from being a proven #1. I would rather trust Huet and Danis, who just got named MVP of the AHL all-star game. The only guy I like is Laperrière. We need a good D or forward in return, not another Jose.... I would rather sign Manny Fernandez this summer. Man if this deal is done, I quit on BG and the Habs...we don't need a Marc Denis!!!
  3. I'm sure some GMs are willing to trade for Theo. When we are interested in a player struggling, we say that a change would do him some good and would come back like he use to, well same goes with other teams and Theo. We were willing to get Bertuzzi when he was struggling. Anyways, it makes me laugh when you guys say that we would be getting nothing in return....no we would not be getting as much as we could of had earlier this season, but we sure can get something good in return. The important thing is to get rid of him and free up the cap space. He's a cancer on this team. There's french show here in Mtl called "Dans ma caméra", and basically the camera and reprter follow him for a day and the guy is just a spoiled coky prick....should have heard the comments he said....time to go Theo!!!!! He cares more about his image then hockey. Habs fans who are still defending Theo it's time to get back to reality...he's done in Mtl.
  4. After watching this first period vs. Carolina, I say kill the elephant...
  5. Man that would be sweat...Richards is the #1 center we need to replace Koivu. Our #1 line and PP would be much improved. You can pay part of a traded players salary (same as cash), which is why I wrote to pay part of some contracts this year, but only this year. That way it evens out the deal salary wise for this year and we are free next year.
  6. Picking up Grahame is only to unload salary from Tampa to make the deal fit. We drop him this summer and Fernandez is a UFA, where's the problem?????
  7. Here's the article. At the bottom of the article: http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/196927.html
  8. Although I don't think neither of Richards and Kubina will come here, they're exactly what we need....it would be awesome. No problem involving Theo is this deal.... Richards almost as to go or they will have weaknesses to prevent them from being a winner. They invested a lot of money for a long time in Lecavalier and St-Louis, they are already close to the cap and they need help in net and at D. Next year, if they put everything into Richards, they will lose Kubina which they can't afford (weak at D) and won't be able to get a good goalie. As much as it hurts them, I think that they are better trading him and upgrading D and goalie. Koivu would be perfect for them. Good 2nd line center cheaper then Richards. Ain't going to hapen but I can't help but dream of a Theo, Koivu, Souray and cash(paying part of contract this year) for Richards, Kubina and Grahame deal....drop Grahame this summer (trade for whatever or don't sign, contract is up after this year). Sign a good UFA goalie (ex: Fernandez) and we are almost set. If only I wasn't dreaming
  9. The possible bad news is that Ribs practice at LW with Koivu and Kovalev at practice today...hope is not the first line LW tomorrow.
  10. With unresticted free agency attainable at a much younger age, I think and HOPE that some local talent will want to come home when they will be able to and defend the Habs uniform (ex: Tanguay, Gagné, Lecavalier, Bergeron, maybe Richards from PEI but played in the Q, Crosby in 6 years, etc.). I would take just a couple of these guys...
  11. The "pros" allowed to play are the minor leaguers. USA as never sent their MLB players. Cuba was sending their best players and USA was sending their best minors...and Cuba was only "competing", not killing USA. Most defected cuban players are OK but not great. Many became total flops... Yes Cuba is one of the best after USA, but a distent far after USA.
  12. Sorry, but being a huge baseball fan (more then hockey) and knowing baseball very well, USA have the best team and players. Yes latinos are very good, but they are coming from various countries, there's not one of those countries that comes close to the USA. Its as if we were putting all europeans together in hockey... Latinos don't develop many or any star players at all positions. They are very concentrated in pitchers, outfielders and middle infielders (especially shortstops)...they are weak at first base, third base and catchers in general. The name of the game is pitching, and USA as a much better arsenal of pitchers. By the way, A-Rod may have a latinos name but is 100% born and raised an american. Anyways, all this to say that USA could put 3 all-star teams for baseball like we could for hockey, but not one of those latinos countries can put together 1 complete team to compete with USA. Dominican Republic being the only one of those country being able to put together a full complete decent team. All the other countries have only a few stars at certain positions.
  13. No problem, just wanted to inform people so that when ignorant jealous frustrated Maple Laffs fans come up with this stupid argument, you guys can correct them and slap it right back in their ugly faces....
  14. They have a great prospect in Josh Harding who's in second season in the AHL. He's currently 21-7 with a 2.63 GAA and a 0.923 SV%. They will need an experience backup for next year who's willing to play mentor role and I doubt that this fits Manny's description...it actually fits more Roloson's description. Its Fernandez we want, not Roloson. Theo is trade bait, Huet is UFA who's rumoured to go play in Switzerland next year and Danis would be a perfect back up to Fernandez. Danis is not #1 goalie material for Mtl.
  15. I completely agree. I've been saying for the past 2 months that Fernandez is exactly what we need. 1) Trade Theo to get a quality player to upgrade a forward or a D 2) Manny is cheaper, and a much better bang for your $$$...we could probably sign him for 3M$/year for 3 years...then Price would come in... 3) He's from Mtl (nephew of Jacques Lemaire) and knows the pressure of playing here 4) Probably is a dream for him to play for the Habs... Another option is to hold on to Theo for another year (YEURK!!!!) and sign Luongo as a UFA after the 2006-07 season or trade for him this summer. If Florida can't sign him, they will be looking into getting something in return. If they wait until the season starts, the more they will come close to the trade deadline, the less return they will get. Nobody gives up equal value for a guy that is about to be a UFA. Theo and Zednik for Luongo this summer would be nice They get a good goalie in return that needs a change and is cheaper then the 6M$ they're offering Luongo...plus they get help up front with a decent goal scorer. All I know is that Theo's days in Mtl are counted....
  16. Sorry, but you need to get your facts straight. The amateur draft was introduced in 1963 and yes Montreal had first choice that year, but that's it. Detroit had first choice in 1964 and Montreal was last....In 1965, NY was first and Mtl was last...In 1966, Boston was first and Mtl was 5th (out of 6 teams)...In 1967, (now 11 teams in the league) LA was first and Mtl was 8th...do I need to go on.... When people say that Mtl had an advantage over other teams in those years for drafts are complete ignorants and jealous idiots who can't accept the simple truth that the Habs were the best damn organization...They had the best scouting and development system (way ahead of the other teams) PERIOD!!!! The only advantage they had was the fact that Montrealers (mostly the french) were the best damn hockey players in those years, so the fact that every team had territorial right on guys within a 50 miles radius of their team was their advantage...the advantage of being where the best players where being developed!!!! Toronto had their rights on their players within 50 miles of TO, but not the Habs problem if TO couldn't produce quality players like Mtl could!!!!
  17. No way!!! That means that Plekanec is moved to another line and I want him as our 2nd center because that's where he will be next year...no way Ribs is back next year. Bob will drop him for anything this summer if not before. Ribs is nothing more then a heartless bum who deserves to be sitting in the stands!!! As long as we him as our 2nd line center this team will have no 2nd line... Ribs as a poor quality shot, he's weak and easy to push off the puck, doesn't play with toughness, can't win a faceoff, is lousy defensively...need I say more...this guy is not part of this teams future, so lets stop wasting time and giving him a zillionth chance that he doesn't deserve.
  18. I would trade Giguere for Theo right now without any hesitation. Giguere is having a good season, he's 1.3M$ cheaper then Theo and only as 1 more year left on his contract. Also, at least he as proven that he can take a team to the cup final unlike Theo who always chokes in the 2nd round.... Carrying your team to the cup final on your own is worth 10 Harts and a dozen Vezinas....does are regular season trophees...who cares!!!
  19. The key word is "when" and the answer is never. Forget it, he is done in Mtl. Its becoming like Brisebois, there's no turning back...they will trade him before the trade deadline or this summer. I've been bashing him for years...except is Hart year, is been nothing more then an above average goalie and this year is just the worst goalie...all 29 other #1 goalies in the league have better stats then him...enough said!!! Are you kidding me!!! Its the same team as 2 years ago almost, but better in theory (Bonk, Kovalev, rookies, etc.). Why are they so much worse???? because of Theo plain and simple!!! We did not say that the team was a cup contender, but they are much better then this!!!! Habs suck because Theo sucks!!! Its not Theo's fault man get real!!!! He can't even stop a beach ball right now. Your most paid player is suppose to be a game breaker....problem is that is literally breaking...breaking DOWN!!! A goalie paid 5.3M$ is suppose to steal games for you on a consistent basis and besides 1 or 2, I don't remember Theo stealing us any wins, in fact I remember him making us lose a dozen games!!!! Man what a WASTE of money!!! Get rid of him, sign a more afordable goalie this summer and sign a top forward and D. Then we would be a contender!!!
  20. Is tonight's game a good enough answer!!!! He sucks, just plain and simple. Aebischer looks damn good right now...wish we had made those rumoured trades to Colorado.
  21. Look on the bright side guys, if we keep this up, we will have a top 5 draft pick this summer....
  22. If he gets hot (as if that was possible...), I will jump on the "trade him because he as regain some value" bandwagon...Theo as to go PERIOD!!!! I said it when he signed is contract...overpaid and over evaluated. A player paid 5.3M$ as to be a game breaker and Theo is far from that.
  23. Who cares!!! We are not going to make the playoffs period. Lets build for the future. Looks like we will be getting a top 10 draft pick this year... Trade Teo for anything decent and just get rid of is huge contract. There are good UFA goalies this summer and lets sign one until Price is ready. With Theo gone, we would have $$$ to sign other UFA to help our D and offense. The core of this team needs to be completely changed. Theo, Zednik, Ribs are the obvious guys that need to go...I even question resigning Koivu....
  24. If Koivu was out for a long time, is salary doesn't count in the cap so offerig a long-term contract wouldn't matter. In fact, the longuer the contract, the bigger the discount we can have. A 3 year deal for 9M$ would be nice. He's always injured, he's not getting younger and we have seen is prime, so yes I want him back but for a reasonable price as a 2nd center. Let's go after a top line center...Jokinen would be awesome...a pair of Fin centers.
  25. Price is a much better prospect whitout a doubt. Pogge plays for a team that is solid defensively and he doesn't get many shots on net, its easier to have better stats under these circumstances. Also, Pogge's development can't be as good as Price with such a difference in shots. I prefer a goalie that is getting bombarded in the minors so that he can develop is skills and it also develops mental strenght (playing well and not winnning often). Best example is Patrick Roy. He played for one of the worst team in the Q and he had average stats because he was being bombarded non stop. He turned out to be the best goalie in NHL's history. Roy was also invited to Canada's camp for the World Juniors and was sent back home like Price...see the patern here guys
