  1. I'm mistaken. He does look like a lemur more than a muskrat. It's the 70's porno moustache that does it.
  2. Strachan reminds me of a large rodent, possibly a muskrat.
  3. So Poulliot takes half a dozen bone-head penalties and does little offensively, but Gui can't get any ice time?
  4. Can't wait to see the Canadian forwards go wide on Hatcher. He might as well wear orange.
  5. On Sat. night games I make sure I'm on beer number six by the time the puck drops.
  6. It's now AK46, but we should petition to get the number changed. Too bad he doesn't speak english.
  7. Larry Robinson. He didn't fight much because no one would take him on. I remember when he dropped Stan Johnathon will one punch. There's also a Red Fisher story about a brawl with Philly in 76 where Big Bird was in the room getting a skate fixed when Shultz starts a brawl. Apparently Larry comes out and gives him a pounding while his skates are still untied.
  8. You've been playing too much EA hockey...
  9. I like the Jokinen thread better. p.s. "Vagenais". Nearly wet myself laughing.
  10. T Bo went on waivers?? Holy crap!!! Who do the hell do the Pens think is going to man the pipes this year, Fleury?? They're going to ruin that kid. Mario needs to give his head a shake. [Edited on 2005/11/29 by casseau]
  11. Everyone still whines about the LeClair - Recchi trade, but LeClair had never scored more than 20 goals at the time and was a huge disappointment coming off the Cup win in 93. Recchi however was a multiple 100 point man. I remember being more pissed off at losing Desjardins and perhaps the best Elvis impersonator in NHL history in Gilbert Dionne.
  12. Played like a man among boys. (p.s. I mean that it a hockey competitive sense, not a Michael Jackson Neverland Ranch sense.)
  13. They've given up twenty fewer goals than anyone else in the confrence. I saw the Florida game and they seemed bored during most of it with Luongo standing on his head. Then in the third they decide "I guess we should win it now.." and pump in 4 goals. Oh yeah, and they're beating people up as well. I don't think anyone is going to touch these guys. (Mind you we've given them a good run for the money in two games).
  14. Choosing a goalie as your "favourite player" is no fun. Sure, goalies are integral part of Stanley Cup teams, but it just seems more exciting to follow a favourite player that can score, check, pass etc. It's fun if you're a goalie.
  15. Lemieux only played 26 games, so it could'nt have been SuperMario setting him up all year.
  16. You said it...the leafs were like a doormat until the 90's. I don't remember meeting a leaf fan (at least one who would admit it) until I went to university.
  17. Louie #$@?!!& Sleigher....I remember when he played for the F'ton Express, which was the Nords farm team at the time (formerly coached by Jacques Demers BTW). I had season tickets and cheered for the Express, but as soon as they went to Quebec they were part of the enemy.
  18. My old man told me I could either be a Habs fan or sleep out in the yard. The first games I remember was the 76-77(75-76??) playoffs when they swept the leafs in four. The game that really solidified it for me was May 10th, 1979--the Cherry "too many men" call game 7 OT win over the Bruins. It was also the first time I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime. Then in the 80's I started playing goalie and it was all St.Patrick and the butterfly style, which I now blame for turning my knees to hamburger...yet I'm still playing..... 19. that we only have one goal from our defencemen so far? I just don't see the d-men pinching in that often under the Julien system, but we have the speedy forward to cover for them. Not that I'm complaining about Markov's all-star level play so far, but it'd be nice to see one of those cannons find the back of the net some time soon. Now that I've said it he'll probably score a couple tonite and Souray will chip in one of those 100 mph PP blasts and I'll just shut up about it. :ghg:
  20. Two losses to Boston? Ouch. At least we know how it came out in the end.....:hlogo::hlogo::hlogo::hlogo::/)
