  1. Here's one from left field: Are there any players in the KHL that we can convince to come over? I don't mean the Kovalchuk's or Radulov's (although that would be nice! ) I mean players that we can conceivably acquire without spending a fortune...and more importantly, players that can fit right in on the top 6. I highly doubt any NHL GM will grant us this wish, so how about the KHL?
  2. If MB wouldn't sign Jagr in any of the previous 3-4 seasons, why would he sign Kovalev? No thanks.
  3. I want to put Gallagher's heart/motor into Galchenyuks body..then we'd have our own Ovie haha
  4. I think the DD top 6 experiment should be over. He did perfectly fine as a 3rd lw
  5. That's why I'm saying it takes more than one player to cost us games. We're ALREADY a good top level team, and one position switch won't compromise that. Hell, look at the number of times MT has switched players throughout the lineup, in and out of the lineup and used players out of position..IT HAS BEEN DONE ALL SEASON. I agree with you Chic about the training wheels..100%
  6. Kelowna also had something to do with it. I would've liked to see him tap in the winner with a few mins left when he went to the backhand rather than slam it into the empty net..but still a great experience nonetheless. Can't wait to see how he does with the Ice Caps!
  7. I find it ridiculous that one player or one position switch will cost us games/points.This is the NHL, and it takes a collective effort to win games. The only player that MAY cost us a game(s) will be the goalie. With MVPrice playing 75% of the games, I find that unlikely. Therefore, I say move AG to center and everyone must deal with the consequences and repercussions...including ALEX! I for one, have said many times that MT must take the kid-gloves off and treat Alex like a man and make him play the f'n position. This isn't novice hockey where we're asking kids which one of them wants to play goalie this week.
  8. Hypothetically, could McCarron (with a big championship game) conceivably win the tournament MVP? If he wants to be the next Lucic, he would have to mimic Lucic's '07 performance...so yeah, 2-1 win and score both goals please. Fucale already has WJC gold, that's enough
  9. An ideal matchup would be a Gens/Remparts final..with the Gens winning 2-1, out-shooting the Remparts 37-16, and McCarron scoring both goals. Haha, dare to dream I guess
  10. Big guys look slower than they actually are..it's called having deceptive speed. In fact, the only big forward I can think of that actually looks fast is Chimera. Heck even Mario Lemieux was labelled a floater early in his career
  11. That's one hell of a layoff for the Generals eh? I mean sure it's nice to give the top seed an extra day or two off as a reward, but a whole 5 days off?! This could be trouble
  12. Idk 30, I think any of the final 4 teams can win it this year. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and it just may come down to which team is healthiest. I'll pick the Rangers over the Hawks in 7 gms
  13. Pleks also has trade value....MB should strike while the iron is, um, lukewarm
  14. And this particular one can still dominate a game..hungover or not. I'm on the "bring Radulov to Mtl" train too
  15. Pleks epic gaffe on the failed dump-in off Max's back still grinds my gears. But, he isn't the only one that let me down this post-season. MB will get something done this summer..i don't know what, but we've got to improve up front. Perimeter play won't cut it. Just wondering, what's the general consensus on Martin Reway? I've only seen him at WJC, so I'd say he's pretty slick offensively. However, WJC success doesn't necessarily translate to NHL success, so I'm not going to wish upon a star
  16. I know I know, I'm probably pumping JDL's tires a little too soon, but I just think this kid is the real deal man. Like KO says, he's got size speed and high hockey IQ. I would make that trade of Andrei Kostyshn for 2nd rd pick (JDL) anyday
  17. Uh-ohhh Don..don't look now, but the kid's a player
  18. Here's a thought: everyone says that Eller couldn't become the shut-down center we'd need should Pleks get traded. I think we already have the shut-down center and his name is JDL. Haven't any of you seen this kid make play after play since the call up? This kid busts up plays all the time, and will only get better with more strength. Mind you, the wrist surgery may hinder that, but still.
  19. My thoughts as well, Machine. I suspect he'll thrive in the 3rd line role, initially, as a heavy forechecker that can create space for linemates, and finish his chances from in close. I believe these attributes will eventually land him in the top 6. No way is he a career 3rd/4th liner. He's still a boy, wait until he developes his man strength and more speed. Look what Mark Stone has done with his skating.
  20. Really, everyone other than Don, likes McCarron. But, that's his prerogative and so it shall be Next year he'll most likely get a good long look in camp, and then head to St John's. He'll take the next step in his development and hopefully be given a call up at some point.
