Here's what going to happen. MTL will trade Markov in a deal for Vinny, then Gainey will turn around and deal a 3rd round pick to florida for Jaybo's rights and then announce they've signed him long term. Now THAT would make my night.

On the Schneider trade though lets keep this in mind. We traded Atlanta our 2nd round pick (45th overall) and also got back Atlanta's 3rd round pick (65th overall). By saying that we gave up our 2nd for Schneider is deceptive. Really we moved down 20 spots in the draft for a half season of Mathieu Schneider ( who when healthy made a difference on our PP). Good trade IMO.

Frankie has been a good soldier for this team but I'm happy to hear that we are moving on. Reality is that we should be able to do better than him next year and with all the promising D prospects coming up we dont want to be tied down to a long term contract for a guy who's a 3rd pairing at best.

I know that we're desperate for a Centre, but man would I love to get Kassian on this team. Best hitter and fighter in the draft, you can grit and edge on this team, he can bring it.

Here is the biggest difference. How many times has Santana played in front of a playoff team? Even better Santana set those number playing in two FAR WEAKER divisions (AL Central, NL East). Halladay has accomplished those numbers with arguably a worse team, and in the toughest division in all of baseball.
